Hey Ringo....good fun starting up gain?  The Pig over Pendles could work. Swallow, Dixon and the Zorkman  could be PODs in what I have seen so far....so nice effort before pre season kicks in..

Cant really see anything wrong with it  :)

You have an extra cheapy in your midfiled compared to mine but you have slightly stronger Back/forward lines.

Good job Ringo

BACKS Like this line alot. 3 premos with 1 breakout contender and 1 underpriced semi-premo. Rooks are expensive but that will give you cover if any cheaper ones pop up.

MIDS Again solid with some great value. Beams, Watson, Rocky and Thomas are all underpriced. Tyson, Michie and Beams will be great cash cows too. M6 to M9 is expensive but they are all pretty good value.

RUCKS It will be interesting to see how Lobbe goes this year. He certainly has the scoring potential to be a premo. Sandi is value.

FWDS Zorko is an interesting pick. Do you see his role changing?? Danger and Martin are lock in premos. Dixon is injury prone but can pump out premo numbers. Clark and the rooks are good picks also.

Overall an interesting team with a few good PODs mate.

Thanks Richo - all advice I can get on D/T appreciated.

On Zorko - With Brown staying at FF and not roaming up the ground at CHF think it opens some more opportunities for Zorks as well - Will still be playing forward though and Leppas game plan is to win contested possessions and lock ball in forward 50 as much as possible.  This will suit Zorko who has added pace in off season.  Do not really know if that will increase DT scoring or not but he should accumulate more possessions.

Speculative I know but think he is over 2nd year syndrome and has really worked hard in off season and now leads the club in the sprint drills.

That is interesting on Zorko. Will have to keep an eye on him

Just a query for DT who is the better out of Dixon or Bellchambers. One will be in forward line as ruck cover.

Neither, just go set and forget in the rucks ;)

It probably comes down to personal preference, there's not a lot separating them. Dixon has the better upside but I'd say Belly is the slightly safer pick.

I like Dixon, he can score well and a lot of upside to him. Never really got going last year as a foot/ankle injury kept him out a lot  and it never really recovered from memory.

Hey ringo, good team.

On Zorks, the lions spent the 15th most time in the forward half, so if as you say, we will really need to improve in that area. Also, Dixon is better than Bellchambers if he can get his body right/

Dixon is a breakout candidate for sure, I think he's a seriously competitive beast who can run the wings when playing in the forward line and hunts the footy when in the guts. Not sure of the intended talls setup for GCS as if thye play Nicholls and Z.Smith he may not ruck much as their best KPP up forward.

Got him in my team atm

Have changed a bit and thoughts on team:

Have taken a punt on McEvoy at the Hawks in rucks.  He was averaging 90 in 2011 and 88 in 2012 and with I strong team think he can average more.  Would not have been recruited if this was not the case.

Using Dixon as cover should it fall in a heap.

Can Play around a bit more but just asking for advice being first year in DT. Rookies will be finalised when round 1 teams annouced

Bye Structure 11/9/10

Cash left $18,900

I like it Ringo, I'm going along the same lines. Really well balanced team with great choice of premiums.

There's nowhere in this team where you look thin or too thick, it pretty much has no faults. Well done mate.

I'd sit on his team until NAB challenege, then assess from there. First year for me too, so I wouldn't take everything I say as good advice hahah

Very similar to my team team apart from a few we are a lot alike. Makes me feel better about mine now lol.

Quality start.

How you go depends on your backline, where you have taken a lot of risks. So hopefully that pays off.

Swallows probably the only risk the others are pretty solid Q, cant speak for the rookies.

Simpson and Suckling aren't safe bets. And I have Suckling in my team.

Yeh Suckling coming off a big injury you could say, Simpson should be ok for a decent average youd think/hope. I have them both at the minute, seriously thinking about dropping Suckers though in DT and taking no risk there. Not sure.

Really don't think there is much risk with Simpson. Has been a very solid fantasy scorer for years
Agree there is risk there with Suckers though

Not saying Simpson is a risk himself, but stacking the backline with Simpson, Swallow and Suckling with the other 3 being Mitchell, Hanley and a rookie just seems like a bad move IMO.

Would Simpson > Heath Shaw improve team or am I better to stick with Simpson.

Hey mate,

I like this team and think the core of premiums is very solid.

Where I have issues is with the rookies but you're probably best to wait until the NAB Cup is over to make decisions there.

Firstly I think you're better going for Michie over Xavier Ellis who I am unsure is in our best 22 (I'm an Eagles fan). I also don't like Claye Beams. Coming off an ACL he strikes me as the perfect type to get the vest early on until he's more confident.

I think there are better options out there to start with but maybe if he does get some vest-affected scores he could be a downgrade target.

Up forward I don't about Markworth and Lennon. I can't see either playing consistently at the start of the season and I think you're better off looking at someone like Lewis Taylor. Even Nathan Bock if he proves his fitness.

Yes Memph Rookie will be finalised after NAB Cup.  For info Beams will be playing 1/2 the intraclub trial in 2 weeks and the second NAB Challenge game. Taylor I doubt will make Lions team early either. Depending on NAB may move Garlett forward and look at another mid rookie if need be.

Here is the team I have decided to sit on for a while  ;D ;D

Waiting Nab Cup to finalise rookies - keeping an eye on Impey, Gordon, Newton as well in NAB Cup to possibly downgrade some more expensive rookies.

Happy with structure as its stands with 12 definite keepers and another 4 possible keepers.

Bye 10/11/9

Still getting used to DT though so comments welcome. Do not feel confident to comment on other Teams at this stage.
