Any room for this guy in the pies midfield? If so, my money is on him 8)

Shane Savage

Prestia super premium
second that....he did average 97 last year tho.
I like KMart, he should be got DPP (M/F) and as a forward you could've picked him. Still on the rookie list so must get on to the senior list.
Reece Conca is my pick for a breakout year.
Zaharakis will step it up this year, I'll put my money on Josh Caddy
Big improvers
Longer,
D.Thomas (improved on last year)
B.Grundy
Seedsman
Melksham
Caddy
Greene
Prestia
Trengove (melb)
Cunnington
Conca
I also like Ziebell, think he could breakout too.
dmac you don't like Savage?

Ziebell is a good bet. The speculation around his breakout reminds me a little of the talk that surrounded Dangerfield's, but just not to the same extent.
Caddy is close too, maybe a season off. Surprises me a little he's only averaging 60, thought he'd be on 75-80 after the move south.
Greene will be awesome, just gotta improve his d/e. Same for Caddy.
I hope Conca takes the next step but I dont see him going past the low 90s.
Trengove from Melbourne? I was really looking forward to seeing him grow as a player but he's been pretty underwhelming for a top 5 pick imo.
(yes it's still early, and yes he's been injured, and yes Melbourne has had a poor culture....still I expected a little more)
On second glance he did average 87 in his second season which is pretty damn good, he's just slipped to 73 and 75 the last couple, so a breakout is definitely on the cards. Will help if he bulks up a little.

Anyone know if this is likely? Anyone ahead of KMart on the list?
KMart is a gun who is wasted at the Pies, don't think he will get that much opportunity at the Pies. :-\

He's the one who'll get upgraded.
Not sure if the Pies have a spot on their senior list though.
Collingwood don't have space to upgrade any rookies. Oxley and Dwyer were upgraded recently and our primary list is capped at 39 as we have 6 category A and 2 category B rookies. I hate that KMart is just sitting on our rookie list. I'd actually prefer to have him on the senior list rather than Dwyer but Dwyer had to be upgraded based on his performances in 2013. Anyway, if a tall goes down then Frost or Hudson will be upgraded but if a Mid goes down (touch wood) then hello KMart.

Doesn't really show they expect much from him when they promoted Oxley over him...
Two years ago I had my money on Griffen to break out. Picked it a season too early.
So this year I will pick my breakout candidate from last year:
Luke Shuey
Harley bennell. Injury free should explode

At a guess, the Pies midfield is already packed, and with the exit of Thomas, Shaw, Russell, and Paine I think Oxley's 191cm in the backline is more in need than Martin's 182.

Yeah, I was surprised by this, I thought KMart would get elevated ahead of him.

How far can he explode? He's already on 96 and has Ablett 127, Omera 90 and Prestia 97 to contend with.
Are you calling 110+?
105 for mine.

Tag worries might continue to curb his ave (slight increase of tag with Kerr gone), but Hurn and Gaff might still cop it before him.
Why did he slide to 90 this year? Just injuries? Or something else?
The kid could b anything.
How many 2nd year players have ever scored a 190?
110 is possible

As an eagles supporter shuey will improve but will still suffer the tag.
Just not enough A grade line breaking midfielders too attract the attention.
Is the eagles best and most damaging midfielder and will hover around the 100-105 mark as he did in 2012.
Doesn't possess the equipment to break the tag and I would not really consider him.
If pendles played for the eagles shuey would probably average 115

Pretty sure Oxley spent the year playing in the midfield in the VFL, he was averaging 21 touches a game.

Yes he did. I was referring to what the pies are likely to use him for now given all the height they have lost, as I dont see a lot of space for him/anyone in the midfield.
Conca, Caddy and Duncan are my picks
KMart will suffer from second season syndrome.
My breakout for the year is david swallow- 4th year and number 1 draft pick.
Although im not picking these guys, i think they are all breakout contenders:
Bennell
Christensen
Heppell
Shuey
Duncan
Zeibell
Bastinac
Daniel Rich will push towards 95-100 mark.
GHS will enter the world of premiums next season
Matt Shaw and Jaspar Pittard will both breakout as well.
I'm calling a guy that has a heap more help this year in the midfield with a top Coach, full pre-season and the dropping of the Captaincy at this point of his career and he's only 22, the age many top midfielders breakout
Jack Trengove!! :o
Also predicting a premo status for a man named Hendo, Ricky Hendo
:)
Bennell, Bastinac, Ellis, M White and Cannon McKenzie are my picks. And wouldn't you know it I don't have any of them in my team ATM.
Lachie Henderson
Steven Motlop
Luke Shuey
David Swallow
David Zaharakis
Jackson Macrae
Mitch Wallis
Toby Greene
Devon Smith
Jack Gunston, averaged 96 un subbed last year including finals. Priced at 447k, jump on!
If Mitch Duncan's ever going to take the next step and his game to a new level, it's in 2014.
Agree completely with Mitch Duncan. He will step it up. David Swallow I'm a huge fan of and I think Tom Scully will produce a very good season.
Jack Newnes set for a big year

Yeah flower you mamma's boy! Little coward piece of sausage scumbag! Will never have him and hope a Dangerfield breaks his jaw!
Steven Motlop for mine.
Averaged 82 last year and was outstanding towards the back end of the year. Tonned up 4 weeks in a row from rounds 18 - 21.
Has played 51 games now so is ready for a real breakout year as far as SC goes.
Expecting an average of 95 - 100 next year.

another great call! love the bloke ... very close to becoming a member of mine
Zac Dawson for mine. Great player. Knows how to find the ball. Expect him to go 110+
Some players who's averages were in the mid 80's/high 70's from last year who I can see going 95+ in 2014 are...
Adam Treloar - steadily improving each year. As giants get more wins the higher his scores will be
Stephen Hill - this is his year
Sam Jacobs - not really a breakout, but I reckon he can rediscover his 2012 form
David Zaharakis - was averaging 99 before injuring his back. Injury free he is a 100+ player
Jack Gunston - demonstrated in finals how good he will be, may be another year away though with the loss of Buddy
Brandon Ellis - won't get the vest next year and won't get tagged either
Jack Darling - ready to take it to the next level
Brodie Smith - probably not up to 95, but low 90's in my opinion
Thoughts? :)
Yeah I pretty much agree with all of them CF.
Just on Ellis, he'll be tagged more this year than he was last year, IMO.
Not sure on Sauce though, but that's probably because he flowered up my year this year in SC. :( >:(
Oh you reckon he will get tagged more? I figured with Cotchin, Dusty and Lids he would be left alone?
Yeah generally people hate going for a player who screwed them over, but from the reports I've read Sauce is training really well, shed a few kilos so he can run for longer and seems mentally very prepared on how to recover his form :)

IMO, teams will realise that he's vital to the Tigers' success, with his run and carry.
He wasn't really tagged much last year (only in a few games), but he'll get some attention every few weeks. As we also have Dusty, Cotch and Lids, you can't tag them all, so he'll escape the tag some weeks. Still he'll improve his average next year without the vest.
Good to hear that about Sauce, at the end of 2012 he was close to the best ruckman in the comp.
To go along with my above predictions of players who will average 95+ here are some players I reckon will improve their averages dramatically, but won't be worth keeping, i.e will average less than 90. For the record my only prediction (published on here) was that Roberton would average low 70's and he ended up pushing his average from 47 to 75 ;)
Also staying away from the popular players here (i.e Tyson etc)
Ryan Harwood - think he is finally going to be a consistent member of the Lions backline, could average low 80's
George Horlin-Smith - impressive in the VFL (DT avg of 88.9), just needs to get the games at Geelong
Jack Newnes - in a struggling Saints side, but I reckon he's in for a big year
Will Hoskin-Elliot - a number 4 draft pick primed for a breakout year
Jake Stringer - expect a mid 70's average from this future gun
Liam Sumner - another high draft pick ready to break out
Reckon that lot are all in for big improvements, but still a year or 2 away from premium :)
