Nathan Bock: Gold Coast Suns

Age: 30
Position: Key Forward (DPP defender by VS)

2010 Position: Defender
2010 Club: Adelaide
2010 Games: 13
2010 Average: 83

2011 Position: Defender
2011 Club: Gold Coast
2011 Games: 21
2011 Average: 93

2012 Position: Defender
2012 Club: Gold Coast
2012 Games: 4
2012 Average: 61

2013 Position: Forward
2013 Club: Gold Coast
2013 Games: 2
2013 Average: 36
2013 NEAFL Games: 7
2013 NEAFL DT Average: 63

Starting with Bock this year is fantasy suicide. Is Bock in the best 22? I don't think he is. Lynch, Day, Gorringe and Dixon etc are all ahead of him, while Gold Coast has the best young key defender in the game (Rory Thompson) and other key defenders back there.

There is nothing to compare Bock to, as he has only played 2 games, where he was sub effected in both, and is playing as a forward now, not a defender. If you start with Bock you may as well not enter your SC team.

Bock did not rack up huge points in the NEAFL, only averaging 63 (with a huge boost after an 8 goal haul against Aspley). While injury probably kept his average down, I can't see him averaging too much more than he did in the NEAFL.

Predicted Average: 58

He's hardly a spud. He's coming back from a broken leg..
Has averaged 93, 99 and 90 in recent years.
Probably past his big fantasy days but if he plays early could be a great bargain

He was a fantasy gun and cheap but I won't be taking the risk on him. Too injury prone and as you said I'm not sure he's in their best 22.

He only played forward due to Tom Lynch being out of the side. With a full strength attack next year containing Dixon, Day and Lynch, I'm expecting Bock to slot straight back into CHB and go some what close to his glory days. Even if he doesn't, he'll still play more and score better than every other defence rookie. They aren't going to play someone they're paying $600,000 a season to play out of position..

For the last 2 years he has played 6 games for the Suns more than half of them have been in the forward line.

Despite nrich's hate for him :P , I will see how he goes during the preseason. If he's there Round 1 he has to be included because of his value
