Wow, some drafting by Port, Impey is all class. Harvey is a monster KPF/R prospect who I know and he is a motherflowering beast. Great selection by Port. Byrne-Jones is very simillar to O'Shea and Amon is very simillar to Wingard/Gray, there are some players I wouldve picked over the last 2 (Thorp, Cavarra etc etc.) But it was a good draft overall, well done Port, you did very well.
Missed a fair bit of the draft Koop, so still getting my head around our picks. Mind you, like what I see. Speed-speed-speed and good thought disposal + and great foot disposal
After Mason Shaw development went really well in the SANFL this year he and Mitch Harvey will dominate our forward line for the next decade. Its do or die now for Butcher another sub par year and he won't find himself playing AFL next year.
I like Impey he should settle into a small forward role he and Neade will be a force to be reckoned with next year as every single defender will start having nightmares about the 2. Impey continues our fast pace recruiting summer.
Amon is even faster than Impey has a very nice kick on him and can take an excellent overhead mark
Surely this is just picking players that are fast? Bryne-Jones is a pretty quick defender but would be hard cracking into the side as we have a plethora of running defenders
Overall i loved our selections in the draft we went into the off season with 1 thing in mind and that was pace we go out and recruit Matt White, Jarred Polec, Jarman Impey and Karl Amon. Both Amon and Impey can play a small forward role so our small forward depth is building nicely to go along with Neade and Hitchcock.
I think Port did really well. Massive fan of Mitch Harvey and Karl Amon.
Am certain Port stole Harvey from us, thanks for leaving Crouchy M2 though :P
