Title: BOMBERS Crash landing or High flying ??
Post by: yorgis on August 27, 2013, 01:55:34 PM
How do we all think the bombers players will play this weekend, if they they lose all their premiership points ?

Will they just bond together, with the ' Us vs The Rest "  mentality and conjure up another win, against the Tiges?

Or will they just play it as a dead rubber, and hang out for the final siren of their season ? Could be very DT relevant

for some of us. i.e. Jobe, Stants, Belly, Hibbo, Dusty, Cotch, Lids, Maric, etc

I'm seriously considering trading out Stants this week. He's just too much of a liability atm

Decided to stockpile cash for the last round. Traded two benchie "rooks" (Mayes, Wilson) to premos (Enright, Griffin)
Moves Grimes and Jack/Stanton to the bench

This is what happens when the AFL doesn't like you I guess. You don't even need to have been found guilty.

AFL must snip these behind closed doors procedures in the bud. Otherwise every other club will try similar tactics.

Just imagine some of this years rookies, looking to get some sort of an advantage over their rivals, to get drafted.

Legal or not, its not a good look for footy and i certainly would not want my kids playing, if they had to go to those

lengths

Bombers players output this week is going to be very unpredictable. Massive risks on their players

+1

Did nothing against the law, and still get hit with the biggest fine and suspension in the history of the AFL :o

Then why did they negotiate and ACCEPT the penalties. Anti- obesity injections !!! what a load of crap. bet there

was more behind closed doors. Why did Hird issue a writ against the AFL and then accept a 12 month ban ? , and

apologise ?? they got what they deserved, feel sorry for the players tho'

because otherwise it would have dragged on for months/years and affected their family and friends more than it already has

thats true, all ASADA evidence and statements would have been inadmissable at the AFL hearing (had there been one), so the whole investigation and interview process would have needed to be repeated

.......the toll on Essendon and its players if this had happened (even if totally exonerated) would have far outweighed the sanctions already imposed

The loss of draft picks is what will really hurt the bombers. Leaves them very vulnerable in two or so years time.

I think they'll trade pretty hard for draft picks. Otherwise they will be in trouble

If the Bombers had prolonged it they would have played finals and got this years draft picks!! AFL could'nt kick

'em out of the finals half way thro".

I ditched Stants a month ago, you can't trust him in a GF. Masten a nice sideways replacement.
