Not expecting a win but bring it on!

Somehow when we two clash, always manages to be a pretty decent game :)

Carn Blues.

Fantasy wise, I have Gibbs, Scotland, Walker and Cotchin. 400 between them will be sweet.

Carlton are without a few important players (Kreuzer, Judd, Garlett).
We should be too good for them.
Hopefully Ellis, Cotch, Dusty and Lids have big games  ;D

Yeah I am nervous as we have so many injuries but its good to see some young guys having a run.

Watch out for Nick Graham!

I'm looking forward to see how he goes. Don't know why he wasn't given a game earlier, he's been great in the VFL.

Yeah some of Mick's decision have been unusual. Honestly Bootsma should not be getting games at this stage. Laidler has great ability and why he is not getting games is beyond me.

Is this game LIVE on Channel 7?

Agreed that Laidler should have been in the team earlier in the year.

Having said that, Boots has gotten a game the last few weeks because McInnes, White and Laidler have all been injured and Duigan also received a VFL suspension. He has also had some very good VFL form in that time. He still doesn't have a body ready for AFL footy yet in the position they are asking him to play

Got cotch, gibbs and martin in this one, 3 tons would be lovely

If Sydney lose their final two matches to Geelong and Hawthorn and the Tigers win their final three games (which we should), we'll move into fourth.

Definitely a possibility, you can't say we have no chance.

if Sydey lose against Cats and Hawks (most likely)
and Richmond will their next 3, they make top 4.

We've lost to Carlton, justice is restored. It wouldn't have been right for us to go the season without losing to the Blues.

Like the Ninthmond of old, we're hot and we're cold. flower me, inb4 we somehow lose to the Giants and the drugged up Bombers.

We literally did flower all after quarter time. Well done Carlton, gave Mick a nice birthday present.

If GWS were watching this, we could be in serious trouble for next week. Basically, if you tag Cotchin and Ellis out of a game, we're absolutely useless. Cotch is our key ball winner, Ellis our key link man. Neither did anything after quarter time and we were slaughtered. I'm very concerned...

Well, GWS already tag every second player of every team they play so we might as well tip the Giants.

They usually tag 2 or 3 and I had hopes it'd just be Cotch, Lids, and someone completely random and unexpected...
I just don't understand how we can dominate a quarter so much and then do nothing for the next three?! :(

Just got home from the game, very nervous during the first quarter, but my man Levi stepped up in the second half and kicked a few. Real happy with our performance today, people who watched on TV probably have a better judgement though  :P

I watched on TV because I was too sick to go to the game. First quarter, you guys didn't necessarily look awful, you just never had a chance as Richmond looked like the same team that convincingly beat Hawthorn. Really, the Tigers played with a combination of finesse and effort that made them look unbeatable.
From quarter time onwards, the effort really changed. Your boys played with 110% effort and Richmond didn't look like they bothered. There were patches where Carlton had both amazing skill/control with the ball and a huge effort, while other times you didn't need the foot skills because the effort was so one-sided.
It was very disappointing from a Richmond point of view but Carlton fans should be proud of a ridiculously big effort from a young team missing stars. You deserve to make the finals based on that performance.

We just played awesome after quarter time. Our players that played a shutdown role were amazing.

Curnow destroyed Cotchin. Armfield destroyed Ellis after QT. Tuohy shut down Martin. Jammo kept JRoo down after QT.

Was a good performance. I am watching on delay and Mitch Robinson is going so hard at it.

Go Blues :)

Dusty was sitting up forward for most of the game. Still he shouldn't be scoring flowering 25 SC points.

I thought Robinson was pretty meh.

Today's game also backed up my thoughts on Martin; he just goes missing in big games. He is seriously overrated, Cotchin too.

Carlton still have a lot of room to improve, however role players stepped up with some key guys missing. Thought Yarran/Betts were terrible. Bootsma shower as always. Big boys were good but all of them but Henderson looked too slow. Casboult is an animal though  8)

Yeah Bootsma needed to be subbed. Betts and Yarran were shocking today but Robinson was pretty awesome.

He went harder and did more than his stats showed.

Levi has plenty of potential and is an exciting prospect. :)

I have to ask, because I couldn't see the basis on TV - how come Lids got 140+? Thought Maric got high too, but could see him active here and there. Lids I saw one good tackle and heard mention a couple of times, but nothing as dominant as that score in a losing team suggests.

What did I miss?

I was at the game and I thought Lids was our best player. His run and carry was damaging and most of his disposals were good.

Cheers for you, JROO. I just don't get 140 + in a losing team. I'll get over it.

Fair enough, I know what you're saying but players in losing teams can still get high scores.
I thought he was our best player without looking at the stats.
