Yes pleaaaassee, Buddy is going to leave im 99% sure
If GWS offer pick 1 we have to take it and get a young gun Midfielder that we despreateley need
They don't have to offer nothing besides a crap load of coin to Buddy

and a premiership in 3-4 years.
not sure buddy will want to wait for that.
Patton Buddy Cameron seems pretty stacked.
Will this work
GWS give: Pick 1 and a young gun midfielder
GWS get: Lance Franklin
Western Bulldogs get: Pick 1
Western Bulldogs give: Midfielder + Shaun Higgins + Bulldogs 1st round pick
Hawthorn give: Lance Franklin
Hawthorn get: Bulldogs first round pick, GWS midfielder, Bulldogs midfielder and Shaun Higgins
If the Hawks got pick one, would they take Tom Boyd to replace Buddy?

I'd assume they'd take a GUN midfielder TBH. They already have Gunston, Roughy, Breust and Hale for the tall forwards. If they could pick up a GUN midfielder could move Lewis deeper forward if needed too.
I think Taylor Adams was wanting to move back home to Victoria.
It's not just Buddy though, it appears they're willing to trade the No.1 Pick to any club that gives them 'mature-age talent'.
I think Buddy is as good as gone, and especially if the Hawks win the flag this year, consider him sold.

No we dont want Higgins!
let's face it, if buddy leaves it's going to be for the money. If it's for the money, then why would we trade away our first round pick for him?
As someone pointed out, I think we'll target a key defender with our first pick. Or even another ruck possibly.
The GWS CEO on the herald sun site told they could trade the 1 pick for Buddy so im not making this up
We would'nt get Boyd we would get the best young midfielder available

Depends on the quality of the Dogs midfielder obviously but from what I see the Dogs get screwed in the deal. Especially considering their 1st round pick will likely be top 5.
Doggies are giving up too much in that trade i think. Especially as their 1st round pick would be 3-4.
::) Just realised i copied ele's post. Posted before reading it.
Just don't let GWS have the third great key forward in two years while everyone else (Hogan exception) Gets little!
But no, the AFL didn't think of that ::)

Yes they do. They are haemorrhaging money and he is the most marketable player in the game.
one of the most marketable anyway.
They should go after Cyril
cyril isn't a free agent, and doesn't have the marketability of franklin
Lol @ the title of this thread.
GWS don't have to give up pick 1 to get Buddy. Keep dreaming Hawks fans. The best you get will be a compo pick in the late teens.
goddard was worth compo pick 13, so you'd think franklin would be easily in the top 10 :P
the best compo pick available is the first pick after your first round pick. so we will get pick 19 for him ::)

Can't tell if you're joking or not haha but it falls after Hawks first round draft pick so I guess if he goes now they could tank to get 2 top 10 draft picks :P
If that's even possible from where they sit at the moment.

It will be Pick 18 because the Crows don't have a first round pick ;)

haha... I completely blanked just then
that is harsh for the hawks then.
I would suggest they would try and improve their draft position by going after someone else's top 10 draft pick so they get 2 inside the top 10.
l think they should go after Naitanui instead of Buddy

that would be my thought as well. Nic nat isn't a free agent though, so we'd have to secure a trade for him- and it would have to be a ridiculous one as well considering the shelf life of cox atm.
It'd be something like our first and second round picks + one of our first round picks from the 2011/2012 draft.
For Nic Nat?
Coniglio, Shiel, Giles, Ward and all your picks in the upcoming draft.
Thanks ;)
Well, you guys traded a brownlow medalist for kennedy (pick 4 2005), pick 3 and an upgrade from pick 46 to pick 20
So really what I put on the table was better than that.
Or we could wait until he's out of contract next year and get him for nothing in the pre season draft :P
I maintain we murdered that Judd trade :P
And Nic Nat will sign, don't you worry ;)
#moneytalks
nic nat would be a better fit anyway, we need another ruckman who can go forward- giles can, but then we depend on someone like tomlinson to ruck :'(
#moneymaytalkforsome #notforNic #loyalty
Couldn't agree more he'd be a better ickup than Buddy. He'd arguably be more marketable too!
Being from WA (and a WC supporter I think?) - Good luck getting Nic to leave for the shower side of Sydney. :P
well he's actually from western sydney...
albeit moved to the shower side of australia when he was like 1 :P
the giants actually live at breakfast point, which is a really nice part of sydney :P
yeah have heard the complex they live in is really good surprised there has not been much video footage of it
The 'shower side of Australia' is still better than Western Sydney ;) And yes he does support WCE :D
And I'm fairly sure he was younger than 1 when he moved to the West ;)

But they have Patton and Cameron already!
been talk of Patton playing as a defender think he did when was younger or something
GWS doesnt have to give Hawthorn anything for Buddy. If he leaves the Hawks might get pick 20 as a compo pick but that is all.
Looks like Tom Boyd will go at Number 1 so what ever team needs a full forward for the future will go after pick one, but believe me GWS wont give up pick 1 for a no body

Word on the street is that GWS aren't even going after Buddy. It's just a smokescreen. They're really going after Dale Thomas as a free agent and Ben Reid in a trade with Collingwood.
I think this would be much better for GWS than getting Buddy. Save some room in the salary cap as well
