Title: Collingwood v Sydney, Round 9, 2013
Post by: ossie85 on May 23, 2013, 03:51:31 PM

Swans broke the Pies hodo in last year's Prelim (and boo'd me out of the stadium :( )

But the Pies at the MCG is a different story. Swans need this victory after a loss to Hawthorn and a poor draw against Freo, while the Pies will be looking to win 2 in a row and stay in the 8.

Not a great start to the evening for the @sydneyswans with the team bus having trouble getting to the @MCG
It took buses, cabs and trams but all the @sydneyswans boys have arrived safely at the G and are ready for Friday night footy.

Tipped Collingwood by 20. Need a big week of tips so I can push into the top 1000 for supertipping!

Can't believe I had a week where I got 9 tips, and the exact margin and still came 400th!

sydney way harder at the ball, pies look scared to tackle them.....

i suppose you would be the way free kicks are awarded but still can't just keep letting them run at will out of the middle.

embarrassing.

sydney so much better it is not even a contest.

buckley is a clown but we all know that - playing swan fwd has failed every other time so hey lets do it again vs the swans.....

worst thing, i put a bet on melbourne to score the lowest for the round, collingwood are worse i am going to lose that bet....

swan fwd 1st quarter and half back second quarter.  i captained ablett because i had a feeling the swans would be tough, but i did not expect it to be this bad.....

apart from the pies being pathetic, the coach has been totally out coached, which is completely normal and to be expected.

when your ruckman leads your tackle count that says enough about the effort of the rest of the team.

pathetic, and hence the username....

full credit to sydney, mainly the coach, totally exploited every weakness the pies have and dominated every area of the game.

Side by side, stick by your team through thick and thin. We have a bad game and you've posted 3 times shower canning everyone in the organization.

Sydney are playing very bloody well but I think the Pies are making them look twice as good as they probably are.

I do think Colli is fair dinkum and  has some genuine concerns on how Bucks is coaching this side which really should be good enough to challenge for the flag but are looking fairly average since he has been in charge.

Sticking by your team is a given but that doesn't mean you cannot critize them....I critize my own footy team back in Holland most week-ends and feel I have a right to do so as I have supported them all my life (and still pay my membership fees to this day eventhough I've lived in Oz for 23 years!!!)

one eyed hey ?  ::)

i tell it how it is and as a REAL supporter am dissapointed when the team puts in a pathetic effort, are you happy with the game?

and you sitting there chanting side by side telling everyone how wonderful we are playing ?

or are you just not prepared to be honest about how the team is performing ?

Sure Sydney is playing well, but NO team finds so much space without the opposition team allowing it.

the effort is bad, the coaching is worse, if this is not true explain to me how it is?

I have only bagged the effort and the coaching for this game.....   and it seems to be a pattern does it not...

tell me is it ok to bag melbourne and other teams when they put in pathetic efforts, but not ok to be up front and honest and say so when our team puts in a pathetic effort ?

maybe your attitude is why so many people hate collingwood, because people like you cannot be genuine and honest enough to say - yeah we sucked your team was much better - WELL DONE.

Collingwood for the record has a LOT of our best 22 out and the back 6 is in big trouble everyone knows that. but you don't come on a forum and make excuses when you are getting thrashed, not when the effort is down and you have been out coached and out played.

so SORRY for being an HONEST Collingwood supporter.

"Lovely racist supporters" is not stereotyping any/all supporters of collingwood as racist, but instead expressing dislike to racist supporters.

On that topic, I'm fairly certain Goodes wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't something significantly offensive to him.

I was at the game, and 90% of the Collingwood supporters around me were giving Goodsey shower. It was disgusting. It's to his credit that he was BOG anyway <3

Thought that might have been the case. Will always happen unfortunately, just need to reduce it and get rid of it.

The girl that we all saw at the end was probably the straw that broke the camels back.

swan fwd 1st quarter and half back second quarter.  i captained ablett because i had a feeling the swans would be tough, but i did not expect it to be this bad.....

apart from the pies being pathetic, the coach has been totally out coached, which is completely normal and to be expected.

when your ruckman leads your tackle count that says enough about the effort of the rest of the team.

pathetic, and hence the username....

full credit to sydney, mainly the coach, totally exploited every weakness the pies have and dominated every area of the game.

Are you even a collingwood supporter?

Side by side, stick by your team through thick and thin. We have a bad game and you've posted 3 times shower canning everyone in the organization.

Sydney are playing very bloody well but I think the Pies are making them look twice as good as they probably are.

one eyed hey ?  ::)

i tell it how it is and as a REAL supporter am dissapointed when the team puts in a pathetic effort, are you happy with the game?

and you sitting there chanting side by side telling everyone how wonderful we are playing ?

or are you just not prepared to be honest about how the team is performing ?

Collingwood for the record has a LOT of our best 22 out and the back 6 is in big trouble everyone knows that. but you don't come on a forum and make excuses when you are getting thrashed, not when the effort is down and you have been out coached and out played.

so SORRY for being an HONEST Collingwood supporter.

well said mate!

Well said Colli and who could doubt your support of Pies.  Giving honest appraisals as a supporter should be no means categorize as a non supporter. Heavens above I would have been run out of town if not allowed to be honest in my appraisal of Lions at times.

Thanks guys - and sorry for snapping back BGK - but if pendles can be honest about the pies as vice captain a few weeks ago

surely i can as a fan?

and yeah i am enough of a supporter to get fired up when someone suggests i am not.

something is not right with the team, we will fix it, but 11th at the end of the round and effort is down and the game plan is a shambles, we have work to do, fortunately the next 3 weeks should see us get away with the lack of form and steel 3 more wins.

that said, i am genuinely WORRIED about Brisbane next week. then the dees and doggies should be wins.... but even the doggies could challenge if we play like that again.

i won't be so negative as to suggest the dees could get us .... no offence dees people :)

impressed with goodes

impressed with eddie

and given hope by the fact the little girl or her parents DO know well enough to make the call to appologize.

out of all of this MUCH GOOD will come, as much as it offends, much support and awareness is created for the purpose of the round.

The big thing in all this that stands out to me is the focus on the young girl and the intention of educating "her", but no mention of her family. The fact that she was led away "alone" was an indictment on her mother/nan/carer or whoever was with her and indicative of the type of people she must be guided and influenced by in life.
What she did was an abhorrant thing in this day and age, but it's a learned behaviour and would have been modelled to her in day to day life.

Well done Goodesy you're a champion mate on and off the field, as always you handled yourself with great dignity

The mum/grandma/carer just looked absolutely stunned to me just like the girl. I like how the whole thing was handled though. If that doesn't discourage racism, getting pointed out on national television, being put on YouTube and banned for however many years, I don't know what will

Would Goodes come back on field if they were down by 3 points? Or if the incident was in the first quarter?
