Title: ANZAC Day: Essendon vs Collingwood Discussion
Post by: Mr.Craig on April 25, 2013, 12:09:27 PM
Will Pendles and Pig pump out big ones? Can Carlisle stop a rampant Cloke? How will the Essendon premos fare?

Let's hope our DT's can get off to a good start for the round. Subs should be released in just over an hour.

Carlisle will keep cloke down today and will have the help of Hardingham as well to block the space in front of cloke or be a 3rd man up to spoil

I've got 7

Goddard, Heppell, Swan (VC), Pendles, Watson, Dwyer, Cloke

hope to be: 100 + 100 + 130 + 120 + 110 + 70 + 95 = 725/7

I have the exact same as you (was counting Caffer on my bench) so I too would take that score :D

Goddard, Swan (VC), Pendles, Dwyer

only 4, but hoping that all go big!

Start Dwyer or Caff....

Sammy didn't do much until the game was well and truly cooked last week while Caff was more solid throughout the day....

Think I'll go Dwyer if he's not green Windi...

Just a quick (kind of) unrelated question, I was planning on subbing Dwyer into the mids for SJ and playing Jones on the field in the mids, BUT with the lockout this week, I won't be able to wait for teams before trading in SJ if I want to move Dwyer into the mids to avoid playing him...

What should I do? Bite the bullet and trade in SJ? Or just play Dwyer on field with Jones on my mid bench? :-X

Take out the junk 39 he averaged 11 through the first 3 QTR's....

I wouldn't be taking any risks, Stevie J might have a complication with his knee and miss or something.  :P

I'd prefer Jones over Dwyer though!

Yeah I want Jones on field over Dwyer, not sure how to manufacture it though :( :(

Trying to decide if I start Dwyer as f6 or if I should wait until Mayes is announced in the team tonight and swap him with Neade who currently sits there. This will leave Dwyer with my forward E.

Mini loop hole idea in the works? :)

Dwyer.

Evans is purely for cash, I wouldn't trust him on field yet...

Think Dwyer's the safe option if he isn't named sub... Mayes has higher scoring potential but also some risk of a vesting :-X

Swan C (none of that loophole rubbish  :P) and Goddard only for me. Will start caff too though over mayes and neade if he avoids the green vest.

Gonna loophole Dwyer. Set him as Emergency and keep Patton. If he kills it, I trade Viney to Mayes and keep Patton on the field. If he spuds up, I trade Patton to Mayes (or I could still trade Viney and use DPP to field Mayes, or simply field Neade). Anyway, lots of options and don't have to commit to Dwyer.

Stuck with that choice as well. Was going to go with Mayes (V demons) originally, but I think starting Dwyer is the safer bet here.

Whilst I feel Mayes will avoid the vest; you just never know with Vossy. Gotta stick with what's safe I guess.

Haha I hear ya. I wouldn't mind trying the Dwyer loophole, but that would mean trading out Macaffer over Neade. Just going to play it safe with this one. Worth a punt but in your case, being you have Patton.

Cloke kicking 8.
Stants 35 possessions and 20 marks.
Swanny 50 possessions

If sidebumhole gets 200 or over everyone on this thread can have 1 dollar. Swan picked it up, keep going mate. Dwyer did better that quarter in the midfield. Pendles coping the hocking tag and loving the challenge. Very good from Goddard and happy with the heppstar.

And of course my opponent has Zaha... the only difference today between our teams was Pendles and Zaha, and wouldn't you know it, the one time he outscores Pendles I play someone with him!

On a positive note, Belly has showed he was worth keeping. Glad I didn't knee jerk trade him to Kruezer a few weeks ago!

Happy with all of my players scores overall (Watson, Swan (VC) and Goddard being the others), and I guess the question is now do we keep Swan's score as captain or go for Ablett? I think I will probably switch it to Ablett, because I'm probably going to get smashed in my game anyway (Zaha ruined my slim chance of winning this week :(), so why not go for it. Hopefully my opponent sticks with Swan (he has him VC too) and Ablett smashes out a massive score!

120 for Swanny. Thinking GAJ Vs Giants now.

Thinking Dwyer has run his race with Krak & Didak coming back.

Maybe Fas makes way instead, maybe?

Gaz 99 and 106 of GWS last year..

I think Thomas and Dwyer will go next week for Krak and Didak.

You think Daisy Thomas will be out of the team? ???

Haha yeah thought he meant Josh but then realised he was already gone... :P

Seedsman has looked ok, Sinclair didn't have much of an effect on the game today, wouldn't be surprised to see him and Dwyer get the chop next week.

Not sure what I'll do with Dwyer... Hopefully he get's one more game so i can keep the ball rolling and get in Daisy in a few weeks time :-X

Dwyer and Seedsman most likely. Fasolo also looked shocking. Macaffer looked nice in defense.

Caff started well, don't think Pies like giving him the ball unless they really have to. Some instances they flat out didn't give it to him...

Dwyer is on limited time IMO....

I thought Seedsman played okay. Didn't see Caff get much of the footy so surprised with his 60. Thought Daisy Thomas scored a lot better, but apparently not... I really want to bring him into my team, but his scoring has me thinking otherwise...

agreed, Collingwood midfield looks a lot stronger when all the big names are in the centre circle/wings.

Swan, Pendlebury, Beams, Sidebottom, Thomas, Ball.
pwoah. 8)

Stanton needs to work a lot harder when the opposition have the ball. That last goal of the first half he was right on the heels of steele and tracked him for 50metres and then just stopped. Cost a crucial goal at a important time.

As a bomber fan i wasn't impressed.
