Tokyo Samurai v Cape Town Cobras National Olympic Stadium, Tokyo
Dublin Destroyers v Beijing Bears Crooke Park
Paris Nice Lyon Reindeers v Cairo Sands State de France
New York Revolution v New Delhi Tigers MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, USA
Mexico City Suns v Seoul Magpies Fireball Stadium, Mexico City
Pacific Islanders v London Royals Oakley Arena
Berlin Brewers v Sao Paulo Pumas Olympic Stadium, Berlin
Buenos Aires Armadillos v Moscow Spetsnaz Estadio de River
Toronto Wolves v Wellington Warriors Rogers Centre, Toronto
Highlights:
Wellington and Toronto have a rematch of last year's Elimination Final, can the Warriors - who at one stage looked certain top 4 - get revenge for their early exit? Early form says no, with the Warriors looking a shadow of the team they once were. The Wolves can pencil this game in.
The Tokyo Samurai didn't have much to celebrate last year, but a victory over last year's runners-up was one of them. The Cobras won't want to let a match like this slip away again if they are to go one step better. Only 4 points have separated these two teams in the first two rounds, and home ground advantage could be key! Tokyo knows all about home advantage, losing to Pacific last week because of it.
Dublin have shown heart in there first 2 rounds, but could not match the might of premiership fancies the Suns and Armadillos. But they should easily account for a dismal Beijing Bears outfit this week.
The Reindeers host the Sands this week, with both teams winless so far this year. PNL were smashed by the Pumas and pipped by Revolution, while Cairo were disapointing against Moscow and let a chance slip against the Armadillos. A must win match for both teams if they are to push for the eight, and I'd give PNL the edge here.
The Revolution has well and truly arrived! New York are 2-0 after a stirring victory against the unlucky Reindeers and are all but certain to go 3-0 against a New Delhi team struggling to field a team.
The Magpies redeemed themselves against the Wolves last week, but find themselves on the road to Mexico City - and this is a daunting task. A danger game for Mexico, but you can't bet against a team that scored 171 last week.
The Islanders, on the back of a stirring 5 goal effort by small forward Jamie Elliott, pipped Tokyo last week to score a 1 point victory on home advantage. They are at home again to a resurgent London, who will be doing all they can to honour Margaret Thatcher this week and go to an unpredicted 3-0 start to the season.
The Pumas travel to Germany to face the Brewers this week. The Brewers are in indifferent form this year, with a strong performance against the Tigers cancelled out by a disappointing outing against the Cobras. The Pumas on the other hand are in winning form having won the first 2 matches by a combined 81 points. Only an Ablett disaster and a Franklin miracle can stop a Puma victory here.
The first part of the season was always going to be the most difficult for Buenos Aires, with many of there best XV sitting on the sidelines. But they have shown spirit and won both games well, and will go in confident against a Moscow side in inconsistent form. Who will show up for Moscow - the team capable of beating anybody, or the team uncapable of being competitive?

Annoying unavaliable list!
Smedts, Bird and Smith learn the hard way that poor preformances will not be tolerated! Sylvia gets one more chance after his abismal score last week and Spurr is also on pretty thin ice after a good preformance from O'Shea in the reserves last week.
Hopefully Daisy will get up in time for his long awaited Cobras debut!
Should be a close game against Tokyo. Need our boys to fire!

Few selection dilemmas this week for the Wolves hence the team being posted later, anxious to see the teams tomorrow night.
Preliminary team now just incase
Toronto Wolves Rd3
Def: Nathan Grima, Sam Butler, Michael Johnson, Michael Jamison
Mid: Scott Pendlebury (C), Andrew Swallow (VC), Jack Ziebell, Clint Jones
Ruc: Paddy Ryder
Fwd: Jack Riewoldt, Dayne Zorko, Mitch Robinson, Aaron Hall
Int: Brock McLean, Ben Cunnington
IN: Michael Jamison, Ash McGrath
OUT: Dan Nicholson (omitted), Darren Jolly (chest/ribs)
NEW: Aaron Hall
Jolly's a huge blow in terms of team structure and still unsure if Hickey will play or not so could change around a bit depending on if he's named or not. Aaron Hall is named for his debut as it's between him and Ash McGrath to replace Jolly if Hickey isn't named and coming off 67 last week I'm backing the young man Hall in for his debut.
Michael Johnson was lucky to retain his spot, as was Nathan Grima but I decided enough was enough with the underperforming backline and had to get Jamo in there so Nicholson was the one to go.
Brock McLean has been demoted to the bench due to the sub vest but I'm hopeful it won't happen again and I've kept him in the team as we all know what he's capable of when fit.
Bachar Houli (equal leading games holder) has been dropped after some below par performances, with Roberton replacing him in the side. However the bigger news is last years world rising star Mitch Wallis has been omitted and told to find form in the reserves with David Zaharakis making a return to the senior team after a strong performance for the Jaguars last week. A disappointing performance by Stephen Hill last week sees him on thin ice, but has been given another week to perform. Whilst all forwards are on notice after a very poor round by all 4 last week, they can count themselves lucky there aren't many others fighting for their spots at the moment...
Def: J. Carlisle, T. Richards, N. Suban, A. Kennedy
Mids: K. Jack (C), C. Judd(VC), L. Shuey, S. Selwood
Rucks: T. West
Utilities: S. Mitchell, L. Parker
Forwards: L. Jetta, L. Dahlhaus, S. Motlop, B. McGlynn
Emergencies: S. Hampson, R. Henderson, J. Merrett
*Subject to change
Missing Suckling, Rivers & Fasolo pretty badly. Mids firing but not getting enough support and not really any pressure from the reserves. Hopefully that changes this week.
Mexico City Suns:
Def: B.Goddard (C), C.Enright, S.Hurn, J.Adcock.
Mids: S.Sidebottom, S.Thompson, B.Ebert, B.Moloney.
Rucks: I.Maric.
Frwds: J.Bartel (VC), N.Riewoldt, J.Lewis, S.Crameri.
Bench: L.Hodge, M.Lecras.
Emg: A.Goodes, D.Merrett, M.Blicavs.
Terrific performance last week. Sidey, Crammers, Bartel, GOD and Thompson all brilliant.
We will keep the faith in Adcock to deliver, while Goodes is out for Lecras.
Kommer gets his spot back, with Colyer in the side all but certain he will not cop the vest so he comes onto the bench with Dion Prestia out due to a hip injury. Tom Lee and Jackson Macrae (perhaps) set to debut for their respective AFL clubs, but won't be lining up for the Revs just yet.
Updated team.
Def: J. Carlisle, T. Richards, N. Suban, A. Kennedy

Emergencies: S. Motlop, R. Henderson, T. West

Brad Crouch gets his first game after a solid 85 for Rhineland
Colin Garland gets called back after being dropped for Round 2 to bring back some consistency in the defense. He also scored 91 for Rhineland last week.
Ex-Beijing Bear finally gets his hard earned debut for Berlin, after a fantastic NAB cup and good form for Rhineland
Jack Trengove, Tom McDonald and James Sellar get dropped, all for severely unacceptable games for the potential calibre we know they can bring. Dylan Grimes is also on notice, but has been given another chance.
In facing a premiership fancy this week, head Coach Purple 77 had this to say:
"We have reviewed last game closely and have identified the lapses in our game. Some inevitably happen, but there are no excuses for others and the price has been paid by 3 lads guilty of this. Nonetheless, we feel we have prepared really well this week and are looking forward to playing one of the top clubs in the competition,'
"It will be interesting to see how far we can push, failing a win, the Pumas as it will give us an indication we we are at compared to the best,'
"But like every other week, whether it be New Delhi or Mexico, we walk in this game believing and expecting a win."

2 questions Ossman
1: since we already posted the team in a graphic do we get extra points everytime we update is we continue to put in a graphic for the round or is it a 1 off thing? (doesn't faze me too much seriously didn't feel up to editing our graphic anyways)
2: with emergencies is it like in SC so if a defender pulls out we get a defender to replace etc? or does it go in order of how we list our emergencies?
Q1 = I've only been giving points for graphics if they are new. Posting the same graphic team each round won't get you extra points sorry Daz, sorry I probably didn't make that clear.
Q2 = Yes, but a couple of other complications, look at the emergency section in the rules :)
@Maca - It is crazy that you have ADAM GOODES as an emergency :P
And everyone but Buenos Aires, Beijing and Dublin get +5 Membership as they posted a team by Thursday....

I dont mean to sound like an idiot, but why should you get extra points for posting a team by Thursday?
No probs nrich
They are membership points, not game points FYI - won't impact scores this year, and only minorly next year
Cos it makes it easier for me, and gives people further incentive not to leave teams until the last minute

Looks like 3 weeks on the road starting to take effect on the Royals with no players so far exceeding the ton. After last weeks stellar performance Ruckman Tom Bellchambers has come back to earth with a very disappointing 53.
Captain Stanton was also disappointing but did not expect him to cop the Crowley tag.
maybe this will let the Islanders into the game.

Butler disappointing in his second game for the club, Grima and Swallow OK, would have been a lot higher in a North win so I can live with that, brilliant by Cunners and poor by Ziebs battling a few injuries.
JMac really good on the emergencies list.

Houli will end up playing for anyway CF lol, so he will remain league games holder

Garland and Everitt let me down :( HGA hasn't been added, atm stands at 59...... need more players to stand up to pull off any miracle.
Ablett going down early will make me very happy lol
Toby Greene god damnit. Midfield has been deplorable once again. Hopefully Libba can salvage it.

Yeah I have that score too
I like to think I'm not out of it just yet, but these things MUST happen:
Franklin to score 130+
Two Pumas to score less than 70
No more Brewers to score less than 70
OPTIONAL: Crouch, Jackson or Conca to be a late withdrawal, giving me Trengove's century
If these things happen, game on.

Once you factor in Tuck is absolutely useless now, we cruise home lol.
Tuck was DROPPED from my EXVs team. He can't play to save his life anymore. It is kinda scary though. flowering annoyed, bench Brennan due to his 15 last week and lose out on like 100 points this week...
Just like in my EXVs and AXVs, dropped J. Brown 'cause useless and he destroys this week.

Paul Stewart 79 average
His captain... like 82 or whatever
And he's playing Bulldogs which he got his 3rd worst score against last year. Scored like 74. Hopefully he only gets 74 again and Swan 160 to put things heavily in my favour.
Argh I knew Dylan Grimes would do this! The only thing that saved his spot last week was the fact that he didn't wear a melbourne jumper.
Come on Grimes, 70 at least! Early days yes, but 4 possessions half way into 2nd quarter doesn't look like a century in the making to me!
Oh yeah and bloody houli..... haven't given up yet though lol.

Well I'm hating Roughy. Gone from a 100 avg forward last 2 years to doing nothing so far this season >:(
Tom Liberatore you are dead to me. Looks like whoever I give the C goes to crap...So I am considering not naming a C next week. ::)
To add insult to injury, my computer has had a hernia and all my graphics are GONE. >:(
Terrible day.
That sucks Sid :(
I have easily got my second biggest score ever, and yet, it won't be enough :(
Crouch is failing...... its over.
If I wasn't so damn proud and hating on melbourne, I would have played Trengove (101) instead of Crouch, and McDonald (90-something) instead of Garland (59), I might have actually won! Oh well, I can confidently say that we have improved from last year; albeit not quite visible yet, but this team has a lot more depth and promise than my initial team, and the improvement is there, although slight.
Yeah Os it does. :(
When I get my PC sorted out it means new graphics though..Which is always fun. Don't know how long that will be though.
1230 with JJ still going. Hoping we can limp home for 1300+, but JJ has stopped so not looking good. At least this happened against a team we can still beat on an off week..Won't be taking any risks with the C against Seoul next week..Reckon it has to go on Birch..

True, but need way more from Crouch, who had 13 SC points at quarter time, 14 at half time, and what I'd guess would be 30 at 3 quarter time, whereas Jacobs, Wright, Sloane and Hartlett had 50 give or take a little at half time....
Still, its not over I suppose
I'd rate Sao Paulo, Mexico City and Buenos Aires the three Premiership favourites (with Cape Town not far behind) and all 3 of them were pushed by teams rated a fair bit lower this week. Reckon anything can happen this season!
According to the SC scores at Fox Footy Match Centre at 3 quarter time, and assuming Crouch (on 36) will get more than 46, I lead the Pumas by 61 points (HGA included in lead) :-\
So Sloane, Jacobs, Wright, Hartlett and Porplyzia have to outscore Brad Crouch in the last quarter by 62 points! Crap!
just noticed too our home game and McPharlin's score of 0 gets counted as our HGA?
LOL what a advantage...LOL

All good CF won't change the result, and still a terrible week anyway. Cheers for the heads up.

Ah, so close, so heart-breaking...... immensely proud coach
As evident from coach Purple 77's post match media conference
"What the boys put out this weekend... how can you not be moved.'
"I put the challenge to them after the poor performance against Cape Town, a boy, did they respond. We were not accepting last week's performance, I made them pay on the training track this week, where some home truths were yelled across it,'
"This, was our second consecutive week against a top four side, and as I said a few days ago, was a perfect time to measure up against a competition powerhouse after a disappointing performance. And in the end, we came up short, but by centimetres. This was our second best performance in our short history, but I would go as far to say as this was our proudest performance, the one that, to me, stands out more than our highest scoring match.'
"We were challenged EVERY step of the way in this match, and instead of falling to our old ways and crumbling, we took it up to them and made them work much harder for in the end, a close win to the Pumas,'
"I'm not going to lament the two excellent opportunities we have had in the last two weeks to win against the best, because the next best thing from a win, is the experience gained out of a match, and I think those experiences are invaluable, and will serve well down the long, and short term future,'
"Obviously disappointed to not get the win, but this is the proudest I have ever been of my boys, hands down."
Would have beaten FIFTEEN teams this week! Bloody oath CF! lol
Unlucky Purple, the luck of the draw! Though some may say 50-50 to win first round

Round 3 review
after a horrid start to the reindeers season enter the 3rd round still without a win
senior assistant coach DazBurg who was in control in senior coach hellopplz absence was looking to change that fact.
the reindeers made the change of bringing in young gun Chad Wingard onto the bench at the expense of Nick Lower
after wingard showed some great form in the ressies
another change was the dropping of Phil Davis bringing in veteran Luke McPharlin hoping he can provide some experience and stability to the backline for the young reindeers
the reindeers round 3 encounter hoping for their first win of the season was derailed pretty much 10 minutes into the first game McPharlin who the reindeers was hoping would get them off to a flyer was knocked out early in the first qtr putting an end to his debut for the season on a grand score of 0
from there it was too big of a hill to overcome and the reindeers feel to there 3rd straight loss of the season leaving them 16th on the ladder and leaving alot of work needing to be done
the highlight though was EOS recruit Justin Westoff's continued dominance on the score and young gun Chad Wingard rewarding the coaches with his selection
in the reserves for the kings there was more bad news with young gun Jonathan Patton succumbing to a ACL tear and will miss the rest of the season while Liam Jones put his hand up to play in round 4
so all in all the season is not looking great for far butt here are some things that show PNL might be able to turn there season around yet
Bad round... :( all our emergencies did great... Argh. At least next week we should get a win :-X

Yeah extremely unlucky purps, after that performance you deserved more! Feel sorry for you, getting third highest score yet still losing :(
Gotta say though loving my defense at the moment! 4 players averaging over 93 and the 5th averaging 84. Loving it considering last year it was my weakest area, whilst my strongest area (forwards) are doing terribly this year. What a turn around!
Lucky to get the win!
Just can't seem to select the right team out there :(
Os, I know it didn't change the result, but shouldn't we (Cairo) have scored 150 not 136?
Might be wrong, but Nige's score adds up to 1503 as does mine, meaning we would finish on 150.
Indeed it is! Sorry Cairo - your captain bonus for Hanley wasn't coming through
Good score by the Wolves and a solid victory - I'm happy. Review might be a while away though I'm afraid :-\
I can't work out how you come up with the scores like 12.15. 150 or whatever
Please explain?

To be honest, I've never really gotten that either.

No probs kb....
The total score is divided by 10..
E.g.... you score 1408
Divide by 10 = 140.8
Round that = 141
So your score is 141
To get the ?.?.141
You divide the 141 by 6
= 23.5
Round DOWN = 23 --> Which is the goal score
23*6 = 138 points. You scored 141, so the point score is....
141 - 138 = 3 points
So....
23.3.141
BUT 23.3.141 looks a bit to straight kicking for my liking, so I use some creative liscence and will generally end up like
21.15.141 (taking 2 goals away and 12 points)...
Clear as mud? :P
Pretty simple really kb and nige. Basically the score is your actual score of all your players divided by 10 to make it look like a real football score. The goals and behinds are just made up by Ossie so that they equate to your total. So scoring 150 could mean your score was written as 22.18.150 or 24.6.150 or 19.36.150, it doesn't actually make a difference :)
cool thanks got it
Yeah makes sense, I thought it was something along those lines, but really just needed some clarification.
