Site issues can't get on during games before games or after games? really frustrating the site seems to go down every time it is busy.
any possible fixes as it showers me to tears.
Pretty much impossible to do anything here on weekends as it stands. :(

seriously true cost me having players on the field before partial lockout because afl site is completely useless this season and this site wouldn't load.
going to have find an alternate site. simple as that or what? watch twitter before every game hoping to catch a tweet of the team with subs listed before it is too late.

Yeah I've turned to twitter for the sub and late change announcements
Continuous problems with AFL site and constantly getting connection issues on here because the servers can't handle it is really annoying
Yeah this has been going on for a while now. Surprised nothing has been done about it. I know you're busy m0nty but gotta get this forum up to scratch - the members deserve better.

Bugging me big time, used to handle it well last year but today it's been horrible. Not just for those people making last minute trades in SC, but people who use the Other Sports board, Draft Games etc...

Has really got out of hand today. Worst I have seen over the last three years. Not sure what went on recently when servers were upgraded but they sure failed today.
Trust the time stamp of posts is accurate because of the failure of site have been unable to monitor the comps.
I ended using twitter for subs today as well. We need this access especially with a rolling lock out in SC this year if we are to take advantage.
Was unable to get onto site to post until now kept getting the unable to connect message.

wont bother trying next weekend the xvs comp will have to run itself.
think the live chat and scores are the part of this site that matters not the forum or people trying to use it.

Initially didn't want to rant because it is a free site and we get a lot of enjoyment and information from it. Don't want to bag monty considering he has created a great community.
Having said that there are a lot of people on here who contribute huge amounts of work to make this site what it is. It is a great community because of all the regulars contributing their time to make this a truly high quality forum, and thus I believe we have the right to expect reasonable reliability.
Coupled with that - as an iPad user, I am constantly getting frustrated with the pop-up advertising that is ruining my experience of the site. Surely some of the $ generated from these could be used to make the site more reliable.

In agreeance with everyone. There are other sites out there, I'm not gonna post them on here but you all know how to use google.
I love coming on the forum and there's some great guys (and girls) on here but unfortunately live stats and player pages are unreliable and I've been banned from chat for 2 years now because of a one-off comment that I still don't think was that bad.
I'll get live stats from elsewhere (that have live updates of breakevens and price changes mid-game) without the server problems thanks. Don't usually use the forums on the weekend anyway so server issues won't bother me.
Yeah it has gotten beyond a joke, trying to run a XVS comp on here is impossible, i work 16 hours a day through the week so if i cant get on to get everything done and updated on the weekend then it just isn't going to happen.

Agree though this site is almost unusable on weekends which sucks for the guys that have put alot of time into things such as XV comps.
I thought a guy like m0nty would at least tell his forum users that he is working on it or given us just an update of some sort. Just left us hanging here, frustrated. Cmon mate lift your game. The people on here deserve better
I'm not about to have a go at Monty, everything we do and love on here is only possible due to what he created.

this is an issue for the guys having the work to do on XVS over the weekends, but more disappointing is not being able to chat and comment with fellow forum members during the games and after them
what is most frustrating is not being able to reliably get on here before games for crucial information on teams and subs.
gives our "competitors" in leagues from other sites an advantage, already cost me starting karnezis when he was sub because i couldn't get on to check in time, i left it late sure but expected to just come on FF and immediately find the post and make the changes, but that didn't happen.
now i have to have twitter open and the one stop shop FF site is currently not the one stop shop it once was.

Agree with everything you say Colli - Trying to update during games is virtually impossible. You can have a connection and post something and then go to post another update and connection lost very annoying.
Gave up last night trying to post on FF, Thank Heavens still able to update British xv's from Sportal site direct.
Am expecting similar problems this afternoon.

+ 1 to all the above. Lack of communication regarding the problem i find the biggest frustration. So many good members all doing their level best to take the site forward being left out in the cold as far as what is being done to remedy it or will this be the norm from here on in. Membership has gone through the roof over the last 12 months and issues like this should of been expected on the weekends due to that fact and remedies put in place to avoid it. Start of every year we have issues and tbh it's becoming over bearing as it's getting worse not better. :(

Got the meassge a couple of times before I was able to log on - Pleased it has not cost me personally as I have been out since 11 and was unable to check on Pies late changes to see if Caff came in. (using VC loophole for first time).

Monty has his priorities I understand that, he could just come on and say what you just said and no problem, fair enough we'll find somewhere else to use as a forum on and off season.
@ LaHug - it only happens during games, it is not connection problems it is server capacity problems. Due to what he is running for his live scores, or the traffic he is getting for his live scores and chat run on the same website.

I am sorry all, this is the first time I have seen this thread.
To be honest, I don't check the forums on weekends and I have always assumed that you guys didn't much either, because the focus of the site naturally turns to the live score pages and live chat... or so I thought. It appears that you have made the forums so popular that it is overloading the site when games are on. I never designed the site to have an active forum while games are on. This is one of those things which I was not expecting, but of course I have to deal with now.
The solution, obviously, is to move the forums to a separate server so it doesn't interfere with the normal running of other parts of the site. This will be an extra cost for me, but it will be worth it and I apologise for not having moved to do it sooner.
I will work on getting that set up this week. Hopefully it will be up and running for next weekend's game. Again, I apologise for not getting on top of this earlier.

As mentioned previously in this thread the issues have been occurring for some time, going back into last year. There certainly is a desire by many users to be active on the forums during game time. Some like myself would much rather talk about active games using the forum rather than chat/elite chat. Obviously we'd like to have the opportunity to contribute to any of the other pre-existing threads during these times too but it's just not possible with the current setup.
It certainly would be for the best to have a separate server. In terms of growing the forum I think it's a necessary move and will hopefully pay off in terms of the increased traffic it would allow.

Site has gone from Strength to Strength on the 2 years I have been on. Personally I prefer the forum to live chat as well so hence the frustration when site was down especially when trying to get sub details with SC rolling lock outs.
Thanks for the update and we appreciate it - As colli has said maybe give forum members the option to donate to server move to assist. Would hate to see you suffer financially due to the popularity of the site.
I have always had the opinion that I should be able to make enough money not to need donations. Happily, that is now the case. 8)

Haha it's like standing around bad-mouthing your boss and then he walks passed and everyone's like "G'day mate how ya goin!"
Personally, I'm still heated I've never been unbanned from chat (still refuse to create another account). Will use FF forum to share advice with everyone and use this site for live scores unless it continues to happen and then I'm switching. But doubt anyone will care :P
But props for getting back to us and hopefully fixing the issue m0nty. At the end of the day, the site you've made is awesome for fantasy footy lovers.

appreciate the response and genuinely love the site and support it. do a lot to try to keep new faces around and contribute.
glad you make enough money to not need donations, however given what the site gives to its members not a big stretch to have the option for members to give back.
if it is not required then credit to you for not entertaining the idea, but i for one and i am sure many others would be more than willing to contribute to a site that a lot of us basically live at ( maybe we should pay rent) :)

I dont properly know how to respond to that m0nty except to say im glad you understand and are able to relate to us and the feelings expressed here and what you wrote above is i think exactly what many would like to hear. You said it perfectly mate and i for one appreciate that.
