Its a damn solid list!
Hey all, Silky Skills here. I would like to apply for the position as coach of the Hoods as Sportal my only salary game for 2013 and all my time is going into it. My knowledge on the Sportal game isn't the greatest right now, but come end of the season when the real thinking needs to be done, it'll be alot better.
How do i explain this? Well I've been involved with FanFooty since the middle of 2011, most of it under PowerBug. My XV's experience is as follows:
- The inaugural coach of the Buenos Aires Armadillos (Worlds), drafted squad which finished 3rd in the table and was eliminated in a Prelim final.
- Inaugural coach of the Greek Titans (Euros), drafted squad which started very strongly, but failed to close out the season, finishing 4th and unfortunately being knocked out in straight sets.
- Was involved with the drafting of the Hong Kong Dongs and Grope Lane Giants
Currently i am an assistant to Nails in the Euros competition.
The best XV:
B: Taylor, Dempsey, Grundy, Dempster
M: Pendlebury (c), Ablett (vc), Hodge, Masten
R: Bailey
F: Walker, Koschitzke, Davey, Podsiadly
I: Rosa (is he fit?), Sewell
EM: C.Jones, Dunn, Towers
Next trade period the aim is to get a no. 1 ruck and improve the onfield side, which may mean sacrificing depth to do so. :-\
SilkySkills
Hello Ringo and all coaches of British xv's .. i have been interested in having a xv's team for a while now and would like to apply for the Nottingham Hoods position .. great team name .. I think most people will know me as i have been on FanFooty for a while now and respect the opinions of others on this site. I try to help where possible by posting information on players and teams and spend a fair amount of time online.
Currently an Assistatant Coach for Moscow Spetsnaz in wxv's and a player scout at Birmingham Bombers British xv's
Myself, Grannyboy, Colliwobblers and others were in the number 1 ranked league in Sportal last year. If i get the position i will appoint Grannyboy as my Senior Assistant Coach.
Current team .. Not a bad list ..Could do alright with the current list depending on the quality of other teams in the comp. Forwards needs work imo. Has two midfield guns with a mixture of ageing players and some players that spend more time off the field than on. I would look to trade a couple of older players to teams that want/need some short term results for some younger players that will improve the list in time addressing the positions in need. I would like to think i can make this team really competetive depending on trades and players selected in drafts etc.
Best XV
B: Dempsey, Taylor, Dempster, Grundy
M: Ablett (C), Pendles (VC), Masten, Sewell
R: Bailey ( Sandilands )
F: Walker, Podsiadly, Davey (Kosi), Dunn
U: Lower (Hodge), C.Jones (Rosa)
EM: Mackay, J.Trengove, L.Russell
( players in brackets are injured and would play before others if fit )
Please consider me for this coaching position.. Football Factory
Jackson Trengove is not a B/R is he?
Sorry guys - Jackson Trengove this year is defender only. May wish to change team.
haha, he used to me.
Him losing R dpp and jordan roughead losing it as well destroyed my ruck cover :P
Did Trengove play ruck at all last year?

Ablett and Pendles are worth a few arms and legs between them

Just a reminder that applications for this position close at midnight tonight.
PM's have been sent to all coaches to vote on new coach.
Just a reminder that voting for coaches is compulsory as per British Rules. Failure to vote may place your coaching position in jeopardy. Some 4 coaches did not vote in the last vote.
Just chatting with my co-coach :)
With most of the coaches having voted I am happy to announce Football Factory as the new coach of the Nottingham Hoods.
I would like to thank Fletch74 for the initial work done with the Hoods and wish him well for the future. He has built a solid team for Football Factory to work with.
Football Factory will probably be establishing a new thread for the Hoods so we await with interest.
Voting for the Rising Star rules has resulted in Rule being Player under 21 making his debut this year,
Rules page has been amended to show rule.
Join me in congratulating Football Factory as coach.
Congratulations FF.
:)

hang in there mate, your dedication to getting back into XVS is not going unnoticed, I am certain you are right in the mix if / when opportunity comes knocking again.

Glad to hear, but can never forget the past, need to remember that aswell. I am a Cancer, so ultra sensititive lol, no guarantees i'll stick around, although leaving was clearly a terrible idea. :P No chance i'll be running 4 teams in the near future (not with the new voting stuff anyway haha).
No rush to get a team, since it also means someone has to leave their team, which is never good :(

I am a cancer too ;)
the past is the past and not as important as what comes after the past, how one bounces back from their downers and mistakes is what is important, not the mistake itself....
4 teams is a ridiculous workload with everything else fantasy most of us are involved in but each to his own.
PB i reckon you will have a team by this time next week ;)
