do we really have to name the C and VC seperately? cant we just do it like i did?
It is ok to do how you did KB just so long as you name them before 1st lock out,
Only put it there as a reminder. Teams do get lodged without them being named in other competitions.

cool mate was just checking
Ringo for the 20 pt bonus was that at midnight every day a game is played or at the end of a round?
Only one 20 point bonus will apply per round and will be earnt if team scores are updated by midnight on the day of final game eg for Round 1 Final Game is Monday 1st April so to earn 20 Bonus points scores must be updated by midnight 1st April.
Trust that explains it satisfactorily.
Yep cheers Ringo.
Can someone explain to me what the 20 point Bonus is?

Is it alright though Ringo? Not sure if you were sarcastic lol
Not being sarcastic at all. Rules are not clear as I checked to see if you were within them and that is why I made the comment. They are not specific in that full teams must be lodged to first lockout although the implication is probably there.
So in summary you are OK.
I named my skip and no VC so I was confused
Quote from: whatlez on March 22, 2013, 12:12:25 PM
I named my skip and no VC so I was confused
Must name a VC though as well as Loophole does not apply in British, Captain and vice captain locked at first lockout.
I want Griffen/Swallow , but if one doesn't get named?
Will need to make the call - Remember VC score only counts if Captain does not play on British. One of the different rules across comps.
Just a reminder that first lock out is approaching and if you do not lodge teams by this lock out you will not be able to select Bombers, Crows, Eagles or Dockers players in your teams.
Teams still to be lodged are;
Hebden Bridge - Elephants/Spite, Grope Lane Giants - Nails, Crosby Cruisers - Picker_Man, Leeds Leeches - BB67th and Liverpool Lobsters - Monstrum.
Pickers and Mons have not been for a while so if anyone has contact with them please advise them team lodgement required.
Good luck for Round 1 and I will be away till Sunday Night, (Team Lodgements though will have a time stamp on them so you can not delay)

To get scores just sign up for Sportal. Then go Match Center>Completed Matches. Just like SC, don't need to pick the players to find their scores. :)

Just back from a weekend away - No internet reception so could not keep tabs. For those that know Qld was out the back of Mapleton on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and reception flakey at best.
With regards to the Bonus 20 points to start with and ensure no one is disadvantaged cut off time initially will be 10:00am the day after the final match. For Round 1 scores must be updated by 10:00am on Tuesday 2nd April. I will monitor time of lodgements to see if we need to modify as the season progresses. Have received feedback from a couple of coaches that due to commitments midnight hard to meet so to be fair to all making the cut off tome 10:00am. You can update teams progressively if you wish but only final lodgement counts for 20 points.
If one of you would like to make a Sportal team please jump into our league Code 134094. One player required to complete league.
sounds fair Ringo, give a little more time to get the scores into you, still makes your life easier and gives us something to look forward to midweek - being the posting of the British results :)

369/4 Meh...
Couple of things to remember:
Any adjustments to teams for this week must be lodged prior to Bounce on Thursday Night. Players from Essendon, Adelaide, West Coast and Fremantle have been locked and can not be changed, Captain and vice captain are also locked and can not be changed,
New Post to be made in this thread and advise the changes.
Liverpool Lobsters have not listed any utilities and have Michael Walters listed twice. Walters score as one forward will be locked. You may select replacements from the remaining 14 teams.
Great to see a lodgement of all teams. Will be posting progress in match ups shortly.
Progressive scores for Round ONE match ups.
* after team indicates Captain has played and double points have been allocated. First figure is total score and second figure is number of players played.
Bradford Badgers 225/2 v Swindon Swaggers 171/2
Michael Barlow outstanding for Badgers with 166 points. Heath Hocking chipped in with a handy 104 for the Swaggers.
Nottingham Hoods 369/4 v Swansea Breakers 163/2
Dempsey and Masten scoring over 100 for the Hoods and JJ Kennedy scoring 104 for the Breakers,
Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs * 613/4 v Hastings Hurricanes * 474/4
Hedgehogs off to a flier with a brilliant 153 from Captain Stanton and backed up by a brilliant 140 from Dannyle Pearce. Mundy gave the Hurricanes a great return of 150 points but Captain Dangerfield was very disappointing with only 82 points. Hedgehogs look to have this one with both Captains played.
Staines Steins 196/3 v Oxford Owls * 356/3
Slow start by Steins with average scores from 3 players. Vice Captain got Owls going with 117 points but captain Walker slightly disappointing with 81 points.
Birmingham Bombers 159/2 v Grope Lane Giants 194/2
Cox scored well for Bobers with 101 and Wright for the Giants with 125
Newcastle Falcons 245/2 v Bilston Bunnies 631/7
Vice captain Jobe Watson was in scintillating form for the Falcons with 171 points with Ben Howlett 158 just about matching it for the Bunnies, Shannon Hurn and Chris Mayne also put in strong performances for the Bunnies.
Crosby Cruisers 117/2 v Leeds Leeches 407/5
Slow start by the cruisers with sound performances from Jacobs and LeCras for Leeches.
Huddersfield Hawks 37/1 v Manchester Magic 354/4
Good games by Beau Waters and Rory Sloane for the Magic.
Liverpool Lobsters * 385/3 v Winchester Warewolves 534/5
Captain Dyson Heppell got the Lobsters of to a solid start with 105 points, The Warewolves had some great performances from Matt Priddis (129), Nathan Fyfe (119) and David Myers (116) all scoring above 100. With Captain Zorko still to play Warewolves are short priced favourites here,
With the exception of Hedgehogs/ Hurricanes and Lobsters/Warewolves other matches still very much open.
Excellent work Ringo ;)
Cheers Ringo!
Love it Ringo, very nice work!

So Scotland, Stevie J, Daisy and Boyd all out that's harsh
Yeah thats the 4 big outs this week the Lobsters should win easy this round!! and i play you next round KB which suxs >:( haha hope i get more then stevie back for that game :-\
Well with 3 of the Cruisers big guns being out, including the captain, and after a solid start from their part, do the Leeches have what it takes to cause a bit of an early upset?
Remember though we have a rolling lock out this Round so replacements can be found and adjusted team lodged by Thursday. And Pickers just remember as per early post Lobsters have not named any utilities.

I would say his VC is his C. Otherwise the loop hole still exists....
Not really a loophole if lockout hasn't happened yet... So pickers will have to name Boyd, knowing he's not playing?

But otherwise you could have just named a Captain you knew wasn't going to play....
My opinion would be Boyd can change, but not the captaincy. Up to Ringo though....
Common sense should prevail here. Chances are Pickers doesn't work for the Bulldogs medical team and therefore he would have no idea about Boyd missing this week until it was announced last night.
Imo, its not a loophole and he should be allowed to change his C.

If everyone thought Boyd was playing then I think it is fair to say there was no rule bending. Since the lockout has not occurred for the Bulldogs at worst he should be able to replace Boyd on the field and have his VC score count?
^ SydneyRox I agree with, his VC should be his Captain, and he should replace Boyd.
That's the common sense approach IMO
So Boyd is captaining the side from the grand stand? I thought we try to make it realistic

Every fantasy competition has the VC playing when the C doesn't play! So by that logic yes he is captaining from the grand stand - the same as when EVERY OTHER captain pulls out of the named team and the VC has to play.
Presumably the Vice Captain was named because he was the 2nd best for the job. So what's the issue if he Captains?
What if pickers VC is injured/not named
Quote from: whatlez on March 26, 2013, 03:14:25 PM
What if pickers VC is injured/not named
The same thing that happens with everyone when the captain and vice-captain are injured.....
Or maybe the VC is Captain, and he can choose another VC?
i think he should be able to change it
i don't see how it's different from changing another player captain or not
Does this league have a rolling lockout normally through the season?
After rereading the rules the answer is no.
Therefore if the same thing was to happen in round 3 to someone else, they are not going to get any allowances if their captain goes down Saturday morning? Except for the VC score to be used and an emergency comes into the team.
This round should be different as it is split over two weekends, but we need to be careful not to set a precedent that someone else may not be allowed to take advantage of during the season
It is slightly confusing though as we were told only the players from Friday/Saturday last week were locked and therefore the other players were technically named for showers and giggles with the ability to wipe the lot and re-name the lot this week. Yes, it'd be different if it was any other week. But it's not, we had it so we could name others coming into the next week.
What should be done? I don't know. But it was designed so we COULD change every player named from our 2nd week lot of players.
So it makes it confusing :(
Been out for the morning and just read the thread so will clarify:
This may sound harsh guys but similar to any fantasy competition if the Captain does not play then the VC score is taken.
It was my intention not to create the Captains loop hole for the British xv's and have already advised Sid that he can not bench his Captain to take Watsons 171 as VC. If a captain is changed, in my opinion, it can be argued that this in breach of rules with Captain being changed after lockout hence my decision.
In this instance however I will allow naming an alternate VC to cover the possibility that Captain and VC do not play. Pickers when updating team please also add alternate VC.
To cover this remote possibility of both Captain and Vice Captain not playing occurring in the future, when lodging teams for Round 2 onwards you are required to nominate Captain, Vice Captain and Alternate Vice Captain. Score of Alternate Vice Captain will be doubled should Captain and Vice Captain not play.
This rolling lock out unfortunately was a week apart and you can change players as has rightfully been pointed out but not Captain.
Rolling lockouts for this competition will occur again in Rounds 5 and 14 with Partial Lockout on Thursday Night and Full lock out on the Friday Night. So these rolling lockouts will not be as long as Round 1.
'Geelong's Steve Johnson has undergone surgery on his left knee, He'll miss the start of the season on top of his Round 1 suspension, no time frame set for when he'll return.' :-X
Looks like Stevie will be out for around 6 weeks.
So from now on we name a C, VC and a Deputy Vice Captain (DVC).
Cool.

all 3 mentioned players should be fit to play they said
I read but misunderstood
I was thinking (because you put it on 2 different lines)
Rioli is good to play on Monday, meaning he took x amount of weeks to recover, therefore Hodge/Lake should recover in x amount of weeks and be available for round x
don't know why I assumed all 3 had the same injury lol.
Lake has been injured for weeks Nails... ::)
Just a reminder that if you are changing teams they must be lodged as a new topic not updating original post.
Any team changes must be lodged by 7:45pm AEDT as lockout will occur at first bounce Richmond Carlton Game.
No partial lockout for that game like in DT and I believe Sportal?
won't know final monday (and sunday) teams with extended benches etc.

Yep the same as last season so that is why emergencies are important. Rolling lockouts are very difficult to administer in xv competitions so that is why they do not exist in British and I am sure other comps as well.
Last season in what? DT gives us partial for it :S
Surely it'd work... only lock Carlton and Tige players in.
Surely Sportal has partial lockout?
Remember we are only listing 15 players and 3 emergencies for our competitions. Rules were spelled out that we will not be having rolling lock outs in British and Partial lockouts only in Rounds 1,5 and 14 With an initial partial lockout and a second final lockout only. So bounce at tomorrow nights Carlton Richmond is the final lock out for Round 1.
For information as well here is the official Sportal Rule regarding partial lock outs which mirrors our rules.
The Partial Lockout
The Partial Lockout system has been introduced due to several early starts for selected AFL rounds, where all teams have not been announced prior to the start of the first game. The Partial Lockout system will ensure that you have sufficient time to review team lists for the Friday-Sunday matches (where announced), following the start of the first match on Thursdays or earlier, in rounds 1, 5 and 14 of the 2013 AFL Season.
Sportals Partial lockout is tomorrow night as well.
I might struggle to name my team tomorrow... hotspot/my phone is super hard
Also so we have 30 minutes to see teams then post our Britiah team before lockout?
Yeah but in Sportal Ringo (I'm pretty sure) only carlton/tige gets locked out
Teams are then unlocked until 1:40pm Saturday for the Brisbane game and it's the perma lockout.
I'm confused how it'll work as there'll be like hardly any time between teams named and Tiges/Blues bounce.
Quote from: Nails on March 28, 2013, 12:36:51 AM

there is no way we will have Sundays or Mondays final teams on Thursday night, hence the DUAL partial lockout, it opens up again after tomorrow nights game until right before Saturdays game.
Happy to follow Ringo's rules -and we are all in the same boat here either way whichever the rule.but pretty sure all the fantasy comps are running the dual partial lockout as I just explained.
Have checked with Sportal and you are correct. Misinterpretation on my part as they are having 2 partial lockouts and a full lock out for Round 1. (Unlike Rounds 5 and 14).
Accordingly we will follow suit and the rules will be that Teams must be updated with any changes involving Carlton Richmond players by 7:45pm tomorrow night at which times Carlton and Richmond players will join West Coast, Freemantle, Adelaide and Essendon as locked.
Final lockout after which no changes will be permitted will be at first bounce of Bulldogs/Lions match at 1:40pm AEDT.
Apologies for the confusion but trust this is now clear.

Find me someone who hasn't already played and is actually named please.
play someone out of position least you get half the points
That's my point
There IS no-one
If they're playing in the remaining 6 games, they're named.
It's only an emerg spot anyway.

WHAT? That sucks. ::) Only thing that shouldn't be changable is Captain & Vice Captain.
Note: In my original post I left out Andrew Swallow accidently, but I named him in my updated scores so I named him in my team before the lockout occurred. I will not edit either post so it has proof of Swallow being named before the lockout.

I didn't name my team until after the Blues/Tigers game? And I was in the all clear?
Also Ringo said because he said once the Blues/Tigers played then you cannot change your team.
But the teams only came out 30-60 mins previous so we were given up until Saturday if I am not mistaken.
I'm just going by what the opening post says! If I've missed something since, I apologise....
Quote from: Ringo on March 28, 2013, 01:24:40 AM

Correct following vote Home Ground advantage is double the score of your lowest scoring player. So double May. In some cases the lowest score will be playing players out of position and that score will be doubled.

We are actually in a worse situation nrich as Fletch removed Lowe to Utilities and placed Chris Masten in mids Masten scored 100. Lower will replace Hodge as Utility and Trengrove and Otten will be played out of position for quarter points, Will be beaten due to Ablett but will not be alone in this regard fro the season. New Coach will be taking over a competitive Team.
I have Breakers adding to 1508 as well.

If anyone needs sympathy it is me - Look like being beaten by a team whose coach relinquishes position and with 3 players not playing in second week. :( :(
round 1 is always a shocker and a lucky dip - no form of any fantasy football should start until round 2 or even 3, but meh who wants to wait.
still the guys who get lucky in that first round of chaos get a good jump on the rest of us.

You should be able to see players scores in Sportal without creating a team - I used the site when drafting and did not have a team. You have to create an account though.
When you create account you should be able to go to see completed match scores or failing that use the Stats Centre to check players scores.

Conflicting teams on like page 5 and 13 Ringo. I think it just involves McKenzie going to position UTIL as listed on page 5. I'll let you make the final decision, but I think this is how I intended it to line up.

I made the decision to strike David Swallow from the Utility Position - meaning you had no player listed. As Per rules the first emergency who happened to be Mackenzie goes to Utility 1 position.
Due to the fact that Stewart is still listed as B/F in some listings have accepted you playing him in defence but from now on he will be forward only. Please record this in your Team list.
Team score with bonus is 1612
Yeah it was meant to be fixed on page 5 with me naming McKenzie as utility
and confused how did my team go from 1434 > 1612 ? what bonuses did I get ? huh?
158 for McLean is already doubled, I think you doubled it again. He scored 79.
Sorry about Stewart! Didn't even realise. I have like 3 uni assignments due in the next week or so but am going to work hard on making sure my team lists for all XVs are up to date too.

Some great first round games and a couple of one sided ones as well which placed Leeds at top of the table on percentage..
Coaches who did not update teams following first lock out really disadvantaged their teams in that players had to be brought in from your priority list at quarter points.
Awards Board has been updated as well
If any disagreement with scores please PM me with query and I will sort out with you. Whilst excel is good there can vagaries at time which go undetected.
Lockout for Round 2 is at Bounce on Friday night and thread for Round 2 is now up.
