Well its that time of year when some of us stand around a bar or BBQ and discuss the brownlow before we go and have a punt before the season starts
Who do you think will win the brownlow for 2013?
Too hard to put up a voting poll and smokies are encouraged
For what its worth Ima go put a pineapple on Zorko
Let's start with the bolter, Paddy Dangerman will be even better and simply dominate most games ;)
I'm tipping a Watson-Pendlebury tie.
1. Watson and Pendles
3. A. Swallow
4. Swan
5. Fyfe

Yeah a good choice...cant disagree...certainly can get there with Thommo and Sloan helping him out...would win enough games to poll well as well youd think
nice one

Swallow is a good one...tough draw but really is the main lock down for the roos opposition
I really rate him as a player and would be at massive odds youd think
Its not if...but when Fyfe strings a full season together he will go really well...have watched him closely for 2 years and the dude has sublime vision and skills...Ive seen him do barrell passes on the chest of teammates..the kid is a freak
Probably Cotchin I would say.
Or Ablett or Pendlebury.
Mr D. Beames Esq..... 8)
1. Sam Blease
2. Richard Tambling
3. Matt Priddis
So yeah, Priddis will win it. :-*
If he can play a full season - bit of an if there I realise with his dodgy shoulders and all - Fyfe will win it hands down. Umpires gave him a heap of votes last season and I only see him improving this year.
Ablett, Cotchin and Watson the equal favourites at the bookies but as a bit of a smokie I would throw a 50 on Rockliff. Moving back into the midfield, improving side, ball magnet..
Cotch, dangerfield pendles fyfe for me. Ablett would be up there too you'd think if the gold coast can win a few more games.

don't tell anyone but i put $10 on Rockliff @101 lol why not
Greene is paying @1001 lol :o
1. Michael Barlow & Scott Pendlebury
3. Josh P Kennedy
4. Gary Ablett Jnr
5. Dane Swan, Jobe Watson & Trent Cotchin
Danger is a lock to win. Should just give it it to him now ;)
You will all expect me to be bias ::)
But this year will be one of the hardest to call in history, with the likes of Delidio, Watson, Thompson stepping up to the top levels
Do I need to name the young guns?
This year is the hardest ever to predict imo
JPK
Cotchin
Dane Swan
Quote from: Vincent on March 12, 2013, 12:04:14 AM
JPK
The new midfielder types (90+ kegs & 185+ cms) are definately tearing teams apart
The likes of JPK and Watson
Really Watson can go back to back, he is a massive unit and is very hard to stop but as its such a gamble through injury & suspension (especially with pathetic MRP these days), Id rather put me pineapple on something thats gonna make me do headstands if they get up
how much better can Josh be? Still only 24
chucked a redback on D Mundy @ 126/1, finished last season polling strongly when he got more midfield time...

Just to be clear he didnt get more midfield time at the end of the season, he was finally fit after not having a pre-season due to an ankle injury
I have put $10 on Fyfe at $14

oooohhh
a lobster on mundy aye?
never watched him play really...dont even know what he looks like but I know he goes alright
home ground advantage
master coach Ross Lyon at the helm
has he had an interrupted pre season?
Youd think Freo would win enough games for him to poll well
Haven't seen maybee people go for this guy.
Marc murphy.
I would say clear number 1 at Carlton at the moment I'm tipping they will go top 4. Only problem could be Gibbs.
I think Cotchin will come close again, but I reckon Pendles will win it.
JPK for me lazy $25 at 21/1 will get me $525 at the end of the year which will be nice!

Seriously Gibbs only problem? I think a two time brownlow medalist could have something to say about that. Umpires still love Judd and free from the captaincy and possibly the no 1 tag I can see him having a very good season
"Yep, yeah mate no worries. I gotta pick-up the brownlow but we can go from there."
Pendles planning his off-season trip around his inevitable brownlow ;)
Capt Murphy for me he will step up another level 2013 :D
Kennedy was my tip last season and would have to say my tip for this season as well.
Outside smoke chance: Sam Mitchell
Polls very well does Mitch and is never giving a chance come brownlow night tied for 2nd place last season.

So I reckon Pendles is the man to beat at this stage of the season..paying $11 at the moment...surely thats wrong...too short
then Yaaaabbbllleeettttt
and
drumroll...
RUFFNUTS...paying a whopping $51, no one has stood out in the top side as consistantly as Ruff so far I reckon ...has played consistantly well for most of the season...only had a slow first 4 games or so - has gone
BANG since
I gotta get a piece of Pendles and Ruffy...its gotta be worth a banjo each eh?
I honestly think its Gazz by a country mile. He's been typically immense!
Some interesting ones are Pendles @ $11, Griffen @ $41, Roughy @ $51 and might go a couple of cheeky punts on Nroo @ $151, Swallow @ $251 and Montagna @ $501
;)
I currently have GAJ on 22 votes and Pendles on 21 votes
What about Barlow as a smoky? Been in good form recently, fyfe and mundy could take votes off him I guess. If Griffen was in a top 8 team I'd take a good look at him, he loses too often to be a serious chance imo. Out of gazz and pendles so far, I agree.
I put a banjo on Ruff today @ $67.
8 games out.....cmon Ruffy!!
1. Gaz
2. Pendles/Hannerbury
3. Barlow/Roughie/Jelwood (has he been suspended??)
put your house on GAJ
Hannebury has Bern overrated. They say he would be leading, but highly unlikely

Not sure how you could say over rated?
Certainly not leading, but would be in top 3

i think Lez just means lots of people think he is doing just as well as GAJ or better
this is my ladder on guys on 15 or more who knows how accurate it is
G. Ablett 25
S. Pendlebury 21
J. Selwood 20
J. Watson 18
D. Swan 17
D. Hannebery 16
S. Mitchell 15
S. Johnson 15
P. Dangerfield 15
M. Barlow 15
Top 3? Bullshower. He's had like 5-6 good games. Ablett has had like 10-12 good games.
Can't really see Ablett losing it at this point.
Watson will have missed too many games to come close.
Pendles has been outstanding, but Swan will take a fair few votes and possibly Beams now that he's back.
Griffen won't get a lot of votes in a constantly losing team.
All swans midfielders are likely to share votes (JPK, Jack, Hannebery etc), same probably with Freo mids for those suggesting Barlow.
Don't know if I've missed someone, but apart from Pendles and maybe Jelwood, I think God has it in the bag this year.
Here's a bold call for you all, McVeigh to top Sydney's vote tally at the brownlow.

Not so bold PB as I agree with you McVeigh has been very consistent and will poll votes whereas Hanneberry and JPK have been very up and down. Only danger i see is Kieran Jack.
