Title: 2013 SuperCoach Player Profile: Jack Viney
Post by: shorty3264 on November 25, 2012, 12:23:51 PM
Jack Viney
Bio
DOB: 13/4/1994

Height: 178cm

Weight: 80kg

From: Oakleigh Chargers

Draft Selection: #26 (Father-Son)

AFL Club: Melbourne

FanPlanner Price: $94,200

Position: Midfield

Thoughts
Viney is a tough in-and-under midfielder, a fierce tackler and a clearance king. An absolute bargain selection with the demons second pick (26), which is also great news for us SuperCoach’s given he will be at a bargain basement price. His attack on the ball is super impressive, if not selected through the father-son selection he would’ve featured in the top 5 picks. The left-footer fast tracked his development by playing VFL this year, but unfortunately broke his jaw against Geelong in his first game, but before his debut was cut short in the last quarter via a high bump from Cat veteran David Wojocinski, Viney showed plenty of promise collecting 18 possessions, 10 of which were contested. He is ready to go at AFL level and will get plenty of games in the Melbourne midfield, with the way he attacks the footy he is sure to be of high value to the side even at the young age of 18, expect to see plenty of him in 2013.

Verdict
Absolute lock, at this price tag he is a no brainer, ticks every box you look for in a cash cow, plenty of games, talent galore and ready for senior footy. He wins plenty of contested ball and tackles hard which could lead to some very nice scores. Obvious bench option, even a M6 spot.

Prediction

Lock him in. Ready for AFL football and is suited to the SC scroing system as he wins a lot of contested ball and a tackling machine.
Nice work again Shorty!  :)
