Thoughts
When selecting your Supercoach side, you look for consistency, durability and high scoring potential, Deledio ticks every box. His 2012 season was about as good as you could ask for, he played every match and scored below 100 just three times (91, 91 and 67) as well as seven scores of 130+. Now the dilemma seems to be that he will only be available as a midfielder, many will write him off and go for a Swan, Boyd or Kennedy. But on his 2012 season Deledio Is quite possibly worth picking as a sole midfielder. He has averaged 100+ the past five years and hasnt missed a game in that time.
Verdict
A lock as a defender for so many years, with just a M next to his name many will be put off, but if youre looking for a point of difference midfielder. He is in his prime, improving side, no tag and as reliable as any.
Prediction
112
Standard deviation of 22.0055 and only dipped under 100 3 times in 22 games! Sounds like my kind of midfielder. Should be a nice POD as you said Shorty, lots of people will just abandon him once/if he loses the D positioning.
But I just might sneak him in over a Murphy or a Kennedy to make the midfield look a bit different. I think there are going to be lots of similar mid/ruck lines this year so picking the right PODs will be important.
Nice write up Shorty. :)
It's an interesting situation because even if he had been a pure mid this year then he still would have finished as the 6th highest scoring mid, and 9th by average so wouldn't have been a bad pick at all. But as you both said a lot of people will be jumping off him next season, and probably picking up his teammate Cotchin who will be just about the exact same price!
I'll be wanting a POD in my mids and it may well be Deledio, or it could be Danger. I'm undecided yet...
Nice write up again Shorty! I like Lids and I reckon he will be a great unique pick for my midfield. I will definitely consider him
I love it when blokes choose someone different and Deledio's durability makes him an attractive option. Probably won't make my team but for those who select him I hope it works.
Probably wont get but could be a good POD. Deledio, beams and danger will all become unpopular this year as mid only options, but any one could make a great point of difference. Still probably wont have room after GAJ, pendles, cotchin, they are the popular picks but thats with good reason.
Good stuff shorty. I dont know what it is about him but his name just doesn't look right in the mids.
He's as reliable as anyone but I just cant bring myself to do it.
Possible upgrade target if he continues his form next season
Thanks JROO, quinny. a lot of people are having a similar look in their mids and rucks like you said Sid, so he could be a unique pick, considering he's one of the most reliable fantasy players of the past five years, he's pretty appealing. I'm waying up out of him and Cotch atm.
so what you fellas think where he will end up in dream team? if hes a back im super keen like 200,000 others but if hes in the mids it might be a good pick up. something different

sorry supercoach *
It would be a miracle if he keeps his DPP, however could be a good alternative to Cotchin.
If he's a defender he's your first picked player, no doubt.
As a mid he's a deffinant consideration but not a lock
I'm boring - wont pick if just mid :P Too many other premiums...
Already just about locked into my team. 8)
I want him in my team as I've had him every other year, but Cotchin's looking a lot more attractive as an option.
Might consider him as M4, with Ablett, Pendles and Cotch the other 3. But the only thing stopping me is I don't want to put too many tigers in my team :-\

That's another thing that always puts me off each year. Selecting too many players from one team in my side, especially Richmond players.

Yep, that's the reason why I took out Maric and Morris this year >:(
Had 3 tigers and thoughts 5 would be to many
Love Lids and seriously considering him as a POD. Extremely consistent!
He looks pretty weird with a bald head.
