Well I was thinking that but I think we will include all shows, alot of oldies get shown anyway
Great nomination of Scrubs, I'm watching season 6 right now!
And while I'm at it I will add
South Park ;D
At the moment it has to be The Walking Dead
Older good ones are Friends, How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory
Also enjoyed Smallville and Supernatural. Others hitch I'll bring up later.
I'll nominate as my first choice, The Walking Dead.
I loved, the o.c

NCIS deserves a nomination. ::)
Sons of Anarchy
Cold Case
And for a new series 666 Park Avenue
i will probably vote for scrubs but SOA needs a nomination

Walking Dead's entire 2nd season turned into a soap opera where they all hung around the farm and talked about their emotions...
At least Falling Skies didn't have a lull for an entire season.

The Walking Dead season 2 gets a bad wrap - but since they changed the head writer mid-season, it went from good to awesome again. But I reckon the worst episode of The Walking Dead is at least as good as the best of Falling Skies. Falling Skies has been done before a few times, Walking Dead is unique to TV

both. Living in Sydney used to watch NRL religiously on Friday night, but 7 then decided to start showing the AFL and i switched straight over. Watching maybe 20 NRL games (including SOO and finals) this year compared to about 60+ AFL games

I would nominate It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Sherlock and Doctor Who
The Graham Norton Show!

That's what I had been thinking. Can't really compare a comedy to a drama and say which is better since they are aiming to do different things...
You can compare as in...
Which show you enjoyed the most...
I believe this thread was created to find the "best" show on T.V. not the best show in its genre...
Whether it's action/horror/comedy/drama, unless you're a robot you should have a show that's your FAVOURITE.

Is a good point, how about putting the winner of each category in a vote against each other?
Me? Personally I love Game of Thrones and Community at the moment. But it's hard to say which I like better because I enjoy them for different reasons.
Well if it came down to the genre winners vs. each other... wouldn't matter anyway Oss...
Scrubs wins best comedy ;)
Do not know Nials I would still put some of the British Comdey shows ahead of scrubs - Shows like Yes Minister, On The Buses, Love thy Neighbour, Benny Hill show abd Dave Allen at Large to name a few. Mash and Hogan's Heroes would be up there as well.
But not enough older voters to get them across the line or enough younger ones who are into those shows IMO Ringo :X

The Sopranos
Spartacus
Entourage
Spicks and Specks
Breaking Bad
Potential to be good:
Vegas
Arrow
Camelot (if it had of gone on longer than 1 season)
Boxing Day Test is a good tv show
Grand Final Day good tv show.
Best TV short would be Melbourne cup.
My opinon on thos Valk.... (not that you asked lol)
Other worthy mentions are:
Game of Thrones - Brilliant
Rome - Great
The Sopranos - Just kept getting better
Spartacus - Bloody good
Entourage - never could get into it
Spicks and Specks - Good for a laugh
Breaking Bad - Brilliant
Potential to be good:
Vegas - Haven't seen
Arrow - Could be good
Camelot (if it had of gone on longer than 1 season) - Found it very boring
Camelot was very clever IMO in the way that they brought in the Myths.
ie.
Lady of the lake giving up excalibur (blacksmiths daughter)
Pull sword from stone - had to climb up crazy waterfall to get there first
etc etc

Entourage took a few seasons to get really good - Ari is by far the best character in the show.
Vegas - Do yourself a favour and watch this.... Dennis Quaid as the Sherriff and Michael Chiklis as the mob member who runs a casino.
One other show that I'll add to the list, not that I watch much TV, is the series Boardwalk Empire.

its hard to judge what the best TV show of all time is as there are plenty of shows out there with some like Neighbours 27 years, Home and Away 25, MASH 11, seinfeld 10 years have run for quite a while, whilst there are other shows that have just started and thoroughly enjoyed

Yeah modern family has the potential to go on for ages. Of the ones I watch Californication could keep going and going by the looks of it. Unfortunately The Inbetweeners had already stopped production by the time i watched it :'( and i don't think community will last too much longer with a new producer.

One of the best comedy's ever to go around. The start of the Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Tony Robinson, and Hugh Laurie's successful careers.
Hard to imagine Hugh Laurie working in this type of show considering what he does now.

Survivor, The Amazing Race and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! deserve a mention.
Also, a few old British comedies like Allo Allo, Mind Your Language and Are You Being Served? are pretty hilarious.
This is best show ever...
Not any show you find decent thread :o
I withdraw my nomination for all but Mind Your Language then. :P
I will leave the nominations open untill 11:59pm Wednesday the 14/11
Any shows not on my front page list let me know, remember you only get two nominations each, then I'll put the poll together and leave it open till maybe draft day!

You could add The Goodies, Men Behaving Badly, and Red Dwarf (current) to that list too Ringo
Forgot Red Dwarf and The Goodies but not really a fan of Men behaving badly.
Throw in Some Mother's Do Have Them, One Foot In The Grave and Blackadder and then you're talking.
Now we are getting there....need Dads Army of course.....lol.. ;D
I don't know what was nominated here and I haven't added any of them, please let me know and remember, two nominations each :D
From the shows listed my 2 nominations would be Red Dwarf and Yes Minister/Prime Minister.
Mash and the Goodies for me Tbag
Blackadder and Boardwalk Empire would be my nominations
Thanks guys, will put up the poll after midnight if I'm still up, otherwise tomozza

I'm really loving Person of Interest at the moment .. the 1st season was a little dull but this season is much more interesting.
Bottom is also another classic favourite of mine. Anal humour at its best 8)

Sons of Anarchy for me.

flower, only voted for 1 not realising we could vote for 3 options, can't undo my vote either :'(
While that is a good list I think we're missing some top notch shows.
Is burn notice on there? That show is pretty good.

I'll agree on the more effort part btw (6 days to make a South park) doesn't make it better, to me anyway all these darma based shows are so bad and I will never watch them, but bring out a new South Park or Family Guy and I'll be right in line to watch it ;D
Light Hearted comedy over mindless negative bull toad anyday ;)
The Inbetweeners is a good show, but it's a joke that it's here. 18 episodes over 3 season is not much of a show.

This needs to be a T.V show, not a show that runs for less than 20 episodes.

Check out the front page but, the best show as voted bt ff is
one of the very funniest shows I have ever seen and deserves it's "best" tag
The Big Bang Theory
Btw tbbt is the second best show behind the genious of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's South Park but, meh..
South park and family guy are better than big bang theory!
tbags maybe do a new thread and a poll for best animated tv show
simpsons/family guy/south park/american dad
could mention more but don't care about them

Cmon Scrubs
Oops didnt vote for the thing i nominated.
Scrubs best of all time.
BBT is good but its only popular because its own right now. I love BBT but for me it probably just cracks my top 20.
you cant beat scrubs, is the complete show has its funny moments and can seamlessly go to a serious one.
the last few minutes of scrubs i put down as my favourite scene from any movie or tv show.

Stop watching it now! First season was very entertaining, second season was ok, but third was laughable and the fourth was some terrible television :/
lol ok, I kinda suspected that the story line might become a bit stretched once they got out :P
Would watching the second season be a bad move?
If you're anything like me, once I start watching something I have to see how it ends :)
I did enjoy the second season
Yeah that's the problem I do want to see how it ends haha :P
Ok well I'll definitely watch season 2 when i get around to it, we'll see about the other two!
It was drawn out, trying to cash in success of first season. As with Oss, have to see how it ends once it started :P. But alot of things tend to drop off over time as they look to stretch the storyline beyond what it is planned for.
