Is anyone quicker than this guy over 50 metres? Cyril can't keep up. Dangerfield can't touch him.
Alan Toovey would be in with a shot. Caolan Mooney might push him. Tim Golds is lightening.
Who is the number 1 challenger? My vote would be this guy. He's not even going at full speed and he burns everyone off:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2Ekoi1f9p8
I think Danger and Cyril would be 2nd and 3rd to Jetta
your kidding about Tambling right? he got the ball a few meters ahead of anyone running behind him and he did not exactly run a great distance
besides that it was over 3 years ago
Well Joel Wilkinson has the record at the draft combine for fastest 20m sprint time...
Yarran or Garlett would be close
Rumours out of Sydney suggest Rohan could give him a run for his money, excuse the pun.

Well at first I thought the same but review it, he starts on the half back flank and quite frankly its pretty quick. But your right it is 2009 and this year he played a fair bit in the SANFL.
What about buddy? Or does he take too long to warm up, probably win over 200-400m...
Dangerfield has already beaten Jetta over 100m in the grand final sprint from last year. Stephen Hill was also in that race and was leading by the 50m mark - he gets up to speed very very quickly but his top speed isnt the same as Danger and Jetta
Over 100m
Dangerfield
Jetta
Over 50m
Hill
Dangerfield
Hill wasn't in that race valk ???
Just watched it on youtube and Dangerfield was leading the entire race except for possibly the first 10-15m where Joel Wilkinson was ahead. Tim Golds came second followed by Wilkinson and Jetta equal third. Jetta was never near the front of the pack.
2011 Grand Final Sprint (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIrDMpfDnmQ)
what about Matt White from the Tiges? i played footy with him and he was crazy quick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVmdL5-6kqc
Must be a different race then - I remember a race where Hill was out of the blocks real quick then got caught up and swallowed by the pack

2009 Hill was miles ahead after about 10m. Than Rhys Stanley went on to win.
Honestly think Deledio would be up there tbh.
I remember Rhys Stanley was suposed to b quick, not sure wot distance though, and it might hav only been for a big bloke! :-\
This is good to read..

Thats the one. As I was saying, Hill is gets to top speed very very quickly but he doesnt have the best top speed in the league. I still reckon Dangerfield has a very fast top speed.

These are the draft combine results
http://www.topendsports.com/sport/afl/testing-draft-results.htm
Im pretty sure a bloke called Adam Saad has the record this year, no relation to Ahmed
I reckon Dangerfield would be the non-fastest Aborginal player in the competition (Rioli is Tiwi but that group - amazing people - are classified as Aboriginal too) but Danger has won the Gillette GF Sprint back to back, and watching Rioli and Jetta go at it down the back flank in the GF was amazing
1) Jetta
2) Cyril
3) Dangerfield
Btw that is not meant to be racist in any way shape or form
Caolan Mooney didn't go to the draft camp, but Collingwood tested him to see how he would compare to other draftees.
His time would have broken the 20 metre sprint record.
His time would have beaten the agility test record.
His running vertical leap would have beaten Naitanui and Brennan's record.
My money is on the Irish roadrunner.
It depends on a lot of variables.
quickest player over 20m, 50m, 100m... etc it would be a different person for every category.
Also being quick running in a straight line like dangerfield or zig zagging around everyone like Cyril or Yarran. Plus the factor of having the ball in your hand bouncing, or chasing can change that.
All I know is that the guy I like to watch take off with the pill in his hand the most is Lewis Jetta and im yet to see anyone lay a glove on him

Dangerfield did... Literally haha, he was wearing a glove ::)
Maybe a bit biased but Jiosh Green has a blistering turn of speed as well. Was displayed in games for the Lions when he outpaced defenders after getting the ball on the forward flanks.

that game where he kicked four last quarter goals as a sub was awesome, until then I honestly thought he was crap

That was actually a good goal by Tambling! :o
Yarran and Stephen Hill are others who have a lot of pace
Lol nice with Tambling haha.
Jetta looked shower in the Grand Final Sprint last year.
Cyril struggled to catch him because he was getting shepparded half the run.
When he ran Danger down, he obviously wasn't that tired and hadn't done enough hard work, on the other hand Danger was flowered and just didn't have enough in the tank. Likewise when Danger couldn't catch him. Once again he was flowered and Jetta is an outside player so he has 2 runs a game and does not break a sweat so he can run full pace, whereas, Danger has worked hard all game and then is still almost able to match him. If they were both 100% fresh, Danger would flower up Jetta any day of the week and this how it is. Danger was working harder that game and was more fatigued so that is why Jetta was able to outrun him.
And wow, White was 2 metres behind and still won...

+1 I totally agree with you, I remember that day, danger was getting crunched every time he tried to escape the pack
1. Dangerfield
2. Jetta
3. Rohan

Where do you come up with this shower? ::)
Cyril was barley shepparded out at all... Jetta had the ball in hand, was bouncing and he was still quicker than Rioli.
Honestly, that bolded bit is the stupidest thing I've ever read... ever. Just because he only has a couple of runs with the ball, the amount of work that every player does on the ground is immense. To say he doesn't break a sweat is ludicris.
Picture that if Rohan gets traded for Tippett.....
Rohan and Dangerfield in one team :D
The point was Danger would kill Jetta when both at 100%
Hence grand final run 2011

This. Dangerfield is the fastest man in the AFL.
I think Rohan is faster than Jetta, and would give Danger a run for his money... all faster than Cyril
It is always hard to judge from a footy game, the person carrying the ball will always be hampered in speed, trying to bounce, thinking of where/when to kick, where as the person chasing only has one thing on his mind, get there as fast as he can.
Would be a good 100m race to watch!

Ive heard rumours to this aswell, for now my moneys on Danger. Be good to see Rohan get back to full fitness have a contest in a game with Danger or at the least have a run in the 2013 GF sprint but i doubt that will occur as the Crows will be in the GF. ::)
100 meter race in a straight line I garuntee theres an AFL player out there that beats Danger, Jetta, Cyril the lot. And it would probably be someone no ones ever heard of lol

I just watched the 2011 one... jetta got a really really bad start, like normally he's blistering out of the blocks... imo, I think the '19 behinds before he got a goal' comment shook him lol.

Nah just in general I would guess that there would be. I remember thinking that Deledio was the fastest at Richmond a couple of years ago but there was some kid that hadnt even played a game that held the club record for 100 meteres. No ones gona say hes the quickest though because we dont see him do it. Im guessing there would be guys like this at every club

Nah wasnt Matty white, although you would be surprised to know that he has the 2nd or 3rd Max bench press at the club. Powerful little bugger

alright so i know i should be dead right now, but to back me up a little bit here's Matty in action (i know he's not really racing against anyone quick) ran under 14 here, but only went flat out for a little bit, and said a mate reckons he ran a 10.7 at school or something

Just watch the 2011 sprint, Reckon Jetta has at least another 5 mtrs in him now, didnt run that race very well.
