The Big Mummy had coaches pulling there hair out in 2012. One of the most popular picked up ruckman at the start of the year after his breakout season in 2011, the Mummy had an injury riddled 2012 season and never found any consistency. Mumford has never managed to complete a full season which is a concern for coaches. 17 games was his most games for a season in 2011.
There is some good news. Mumford comes at a bargain in 2013, almost $130,000 cheaper than thousands of coaches paid for him before round 1 2012. He is in his prime at age 26 and if he could just manage to get his body right and have a big pre season he will be one of the top scoring ruckman for 2013.
Predicted avg: 110
not sure about the 110 quinny, Struggled all year with back ailments before starting to score ok for the last 5 home and away games. No doubt that he will be cheap and a great get, but the time share with Pyke and being injury prone is a worry
Nice write up

Thanks mate, you think less than 110?

with everyone locking in NicNat and Leuy... Mummy and Goldy could be great pod's next year
on another note, did every see how pissed he still was the morning after the GF at Albert Park
very amusing haha

Exactly my thoughts. Any ruckman other than NicNat/Berger is going to be a unique, and there are some bargains out there like this that are tempting me.

Yes! haha he missed the team bus and had to catch a second bus by himself. He was still wasted haha
A bit too injury prone for my liking.
Either going NicNat + Berger or Goldy + Berger.

+ 1 my rucks will look like that too. Mummy is too much of a risk for me

well alot has changed, Tippett now looks like joining the Swans which is bad news for Pyke. What does this do for Mummy, well hopefully makes his ave higher. But with every one jumping on Berger (as he will be cheap as chips) the choice is between Mummy and Goldy for Ruck number 1.
Will have Goldy/NicNat + Berger as my rucks so no room for Mummy.
His price might be too low for me not to give him a starting spot
to injury prone

to injury prone
If he could get his body right though he would be a massive steal at $483 k
I don't think hes too injury prone he has had his troubles but not a complete write off yet. Watch carefully in the preseason.
Not overly injury prone, his main chunk of time missed since joining the swans has been via suspension.
Seriously condsidering as a point of difference from nic Nat.
he is a bargain at that price I reckon. only got going in the latter stages of the year, will start fresh next year and be back to his 2011 best!
Mumford's injury last year was mostly related to an infection from cortisone injections into his back. Not likely to reoccur.
Suspensions and sharing ruck duties with Pyke or Tippett (more than in the past) are likely to be the major threats to his output.

Big Mummy is a Big Mummy...
After Pyke said Mummy's "knee was crumbling" earlier this year, we then saw significant weight loss, inconsistency, back problems, and very few examples of the 'mummy roving' that had made him so good in 2011. It all points to Sydney managing him carefully for the remainder of his career, and possibly saving him for finals/important games. Add to this Pyke's increased influence and Im staying away.
locked in for mine. unless proves otherwise.
I don't think he is too much of an injury prone player, but Pyke has shown he is more than capable of a player so they might lean towards him more if they want to handle Mummy carefully. He might be used like how Geelong always used Ottens, with him having a different program near the start of the year and then coming good by finals time. I got burnt by him last year, and I think there are better options than him out there, but he good be a good POD by the end of the season.
When Tippett finishes his suspension, Pyke is going to find it hard to hold his spot in the team.
Mummy was very unlucky last year with injury, mainly the needle issue, but he also tweaked the hammy in the GF warmup and played on one leg for most of it.
His durability might need assessing.
Dream picker price $486,900
Locked in ATM, the forgotten premium ruck.
Mummy missed a lot of footy so based on his ability is a gun. Tippett, well this giant peice of froggin past time
Kurt is actually a nice selection, is he an R/F, don't think so but wtf not? Kurt takes contested markes and shouldm ave over 100 from those 10 games he should play
I'm hoping Mummy gets it right and I can select Mummy in my Ruck combo
if fit he'll be the beast we all know from '11, 110+
