Gary Rohan - Sydney Swans (requested by Footy_Boiz)
Position: FWD
Price: $240,800 (Fanplanner)
2011 Games: 7
2012 Games: 4
2011 Average: 45.9
2012 Average: 46.8
2012 Tons: 0
Summary: A broken foot brought his third season to an early halt but I don't think there was really much DT potential there, regardless of injury. Even without the 9 from his injury game, his other 3 only averaged 59. By all means, he's underpriced and will probably improve a bit (he's only 21) but I don't think he'll be a DT star any time soon. Of his 22 games over his career, he's only had two scores above 80 but 16 below 60.
Verdict: Not a chance.
LH's prediction: 60
Yeah not for me, doesnt look like a DT'er.
Cheers lahug. Was hoping he would be cheaper. Has the potential to be a good player and if was 50k cheaper and smashes preseason would have considered but a bit to pricey

He's a good player with his pace, but probably wont rack up the 25+ possesions to be DT relevant :-\

True true. He is quick but. Him and Jetta on the wings could be a very pacey combo

Yep.
Picked him in 2011 not going to do so in the near future.
He'll be a star of the AFL, alas not so for our DTs
I like the look of him. Won't be jumping on - too many uncertainties for me, but I'll be interested to see how he returns. I've got a feeling he will be fantasy relevant into the future, but we are a while away from seeing that.
May not play the first game next year and if the 3 man bench with 1 sub changes to a 2 man bench with 2 subs then this increases his likely hood of being the sub.
Great player more likely to be SC relevant than DT
Although i think he will be cheaper than $240K
Yeah surely would be cheaper than 240k. If he is more in the 180k range will consider, depending on how he goes in the pre season.
That was a horrific break. I wouldnt expect him back round 1
I like him alot, but it will be too hard to squeeze him into the forward line with all the other value in there.
LeCras is $19,000 cheaper than Rohan & Gray is $500 more expensive...
I think I know which 2 I'll be picking.
After some thought i'd say that Rohan will not play any NAB cup next year and will start the season in the 2s
really, was his break that bad :o oh well. Nah, this guy is at the end of a long list of potential mid pricers for me- pass.

like I saw it, and it's brutal, but like you would think 12 months would be enough...
that being said, I only had a tiny fracture in my ankle mid april, and the ligaments are shower are still healing...

There are photos of him doing handballs at training on the Swans Facebook page. Although if he were fully fit, he would've owned Dangerfield in the GF sprint

Firstly, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and secondly, fully fit wouldn't he have been playing :o
pretty sure the swans said he wasn't too far off playing in the granny

zero chance of playing the granny. Coming back from a bad break like that they were never going to rush him back in this year. After he broke it and had the surgery the Swans came out and said that he won't be back this year.

For any medicos amongst us, would Rohan be stronger for his recuperation work (eg, swimming and leg weights in the article)? Although I guess it wouldn't be the same as match experience, and he would've missed months of full training. Don't worry I already answered my q :)
Compound fracture of the leg... Ouch. Wonder if there is some sort of plate or pins holding those bones together.
Not in my DT team next season but really like his skills and SPEED, in a couple of years if he could play midfield(not neccessarily with Sydney) then can see his DT numbers improving.
Love the thought of him and Jetta playing wide on the Swan's wing....
How can he be 240k? Surely he will be cheaper than that, he only played a handful of games in 2012 and has never even averaged 50. If he's 170k or so he's a good get but not at that price, OVA

Much like Barlow and others that have done similar, it will take another year for him to get back to his best.
Don't expect too much this year fellas
Would definitely rather LeCras and Gray over Rohan for the same price!
He'll come back towards the middle of the season and shower all over Dangerfield's speed.
Danger can't beat Jetta. Jetta can't get close to Rohan
2013 Dream picker price $240,900
Great news for Gary Rohan fans

QuoteSwans forward Gary Rohan achieved his New Year’s resolution this morning, when he ran outdoors for the first time since breaking his leg in round four last season.
Great news .. hope he plays some games this year.
