Title: 2013 SuperCoach Player Profile: Josh. J Kennedy
Post by: Jroo on September 15, 2012, 02:07:51 PM
Josh. J Kennedy
Price: 297 400 (Fan planner)
2012 Games: 7
2012 Ave: 56
2011 Games: 20
2011 Ave: 86
Position: Forward

Kennedy has missed out on most of the year because of injury but in 2013 if he is fit and at $300k is great value! Kennedy was coming of his best year playing 20 games and averaging 86 Supercoach points a game. He has scored exactly 100 goals in 2010-11 so can kick goals. Kennedy is a good chance to get back to his best next year so watch how he goes in the pre season!

2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 80-85

Tempting and cheap but I reckon there r better mid priced Fwd options this year. And trying to stay clear of key forwards next year after Travis Choke last year.

Luckily I missed picking Choke in SC but really hurt me in DT.  :-\

Cost me a GF as I had him as my emergency and pulled out a big hundred. He's going to b that cheap he'll tempt me again next year being at Carlton.

That would've hurt.  :-\ If at Carlton may slightly reconsider. The Pies have so many midfield goal kickers.

if the eagles have a softish first 6 or so games and if he is up and about i think i will start him, could be an easy avenue to kick off some upgrading rd 6 next year.

being new to supercoach i've just noticed that key forwards seem to go alright compared to dream team where you usually stay away??

they are capable of big scores such as kicking a bag of important goals during a game.....but on the same note if they have a quiet game they really have a quiet game score wise

at this price its worth considering, i would never pick one up at their peak though.....at some stage all will have a quiet game or two and their prices will take a tumble, i mean Tippett/Cloke were all a fair bit cheaper than this at some stage through the year and arguably better prospects than Kennedy

if Pav can get fit and stay fit, i will be jumping on the Pav bandwagon. JJK will score well next year with the mid field strength of WC, but its Pav for me

They're definitely worth considering but unless a guy kicks at least 3 goals every game he'll be very inconsistent.

I'll take a look at Tex Walker to show you what I mean:

Games: 16
Goals: 63 (inc. finals)
Average: 100.19
Standard Deviation: 32.64

120-200: 4
100-120: 6
90-100: 2
70-90: 2
50-70: 0
0-50: 2

Goals:Average

6: 119
5: 98
4: 124
3: 110
2: 78
1: 96
0: 31

As you can see when Tex didn't kick 3 goals or more he struggled to score well. Albeit he only missed out on 3 goals 25% of the time, those low scores can really cost you. Of course when he gets up and kicks goals/takes marks he'll probably hand you one of your biggest scores of the week.
I think you need a balance in your forward line of KPP and small forwards. The KPP will usually be more inconsistent so I would never take more than 2 or 3 otherwise you risk having a bunch of them scoring lowly in the same week and it will leave a noticeable dent in your overall score.

That being said I wouldn't pick none because those big scores can help a lot in a down week.

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaand I just realised you left that comment a month ago. Oops. :-[

Taylor's only begining to show what he can do, he will get much better still, ar 100 ave this year I expect with his improvement to go near 110 next season

I wasn`t considering Kennedy before but I am now as a cash cow
averaged 86.8 in 2011 played 20 games plus finals
high score of 190 v Bulldogs
low score of 50 v Saints and Brisbane

Eagles first few games this season

Freo 100 and 91
Hawks 88
Melbourne 91 and 68
Carlton 66 and 87
Port 105 and 96
Bulldogs 190
Lions 50
These scores are from season 2011
If he can score well for the first 6 weeks he should make some good cash.

IMHO at his current price he is definitely worth looking at.
Sadly I just don't have a spot for him ATM.
