Josh P. Kennedy â€" Sydney Swans
Position: M
Price: $523,900 (official price)
2011 Games: 22
2012 Games: 22
2011 Average: 86.5
2012 Average: 101.7
2012 max score: 153
2012 min score: 61
Summary: One of the better grabs the Swans have made, he’ll be turning 25 next year, so definitely not in decline. He’s ranked no. 1 in: Total Handballs, Contested Possessions and Clearances. He averaged 28.4 disposals, 1.1 goals and 5 tackles per game. So he’s a gun in terms of the actual game, but sadly hasn’t really turned on the switch in DT when compared to Swan, GAJ and co.
Verdict: Could explode again into that Swan, Ablett, Beams bracket, and as a tough inside midfielder he fits into the Swans gameplan. But then the Swans haven’t really been known for DT excellence. If you want to take a punt on a lad who will turn it elite, go this guy. But a pass for me.
Stew42’s prediction: 100-115
Alternatives: Redden, Murphy, D-field, Jack
I think Jacks more likely to explode, but both will become DT elite :)
Will be taking Marc over him :) still great player, great writeup!
in Super Coach yep!

+1
I want him because I love him as a player. But there are far better DT options around his price. Great write up!
Yeah good write-up.
Would prefer Redden or Murph over JPK at that price.
Don't really like him as a prospect for DT. Sure he can go bang and have massive scores, but mostly he gets consistent 80's & 90's which isn't good enough to make a top 6-8 midfield. Probably will be many better options at his price.
Great SCer with his contested possessions and other stats though.
others are infront of him in my team but could be a very nice unique.
if he's going to be elite, he really needs to eliminate nearly all of his sub 90 scores and push all those 90s (8 this year) up to 100s... but at only 24 we should see that happen over the next couple of years
Good write up Stew.
For me it was interesting that JPK learnt from last year and was able to play alot better whilst getting the tag every week.
Last year he was outstanding in the NAB cup and then struggled with the tag throughout the year going from 50-120. This year much more consistent with not only his DT stats but his SC as well.
If you pick a player from the Swans in your DT mids next year its JPK, SC i got to go with KJack.
Love him as a player and as a SC specialist.
I still think I would take Murph over him being a Carlton supporter, but I still believe he has massive ability to score big if he can get free for more marks and kicks. His play is very inside for DT and thus effects his scoring output.
Not for me, but he would be a very good POD.
Can see him going 105+ next year.
Handballs too much. Toby Greene is a better option.
Great write-up.
Like the guy but I think there are some better options like Murphy etc...
Handballs a lot....
Consistently get's 30+ touches a game though. Maybe a better super coach player? ???
That price is very reasonable. My question marks are whether he can reproduce his early 2012 form consistently, and whether he might get pushed aside by some of the Swannies other developing mids.
Not for me, but would be a very handy POD.
More of an SC'er...
Averaged 117.4 in his last 7 games.... plays GC and GWS in his first two..
I may start him and ROK with this new trade change!

Correct - 115 and 127 vs GWS and 125 vs GC last year.
