For you guys that don't know, its you just make your dream team. Assistant Coach subscribers will get it early(Not as fast as m0nty though!!) too. So its just a planner for your dream team, and although official prices/positions aren't spot on yet, m0nty does a great job, so it's as close as possible to what its going to be like. All it is, is an early chance to start planning your team. Much easier than say, planning on paper with no idea of prices/magic number and even draftees. But m0nty has it sorted, good on him :)

I calculated the prices based on last years discounts and last years magic number and put it in the players and trades section.

Have a gander and see what ya think

Monty, can you give us some reasons why you don't think Hartlett will be eligible in the backs or Rockliff in the forwards or some F/Rs ? Just curious because I would have thought those first 2 at least were a shoe-in :o

Hey all,
I'm fiddling around on the FP at the moment, what do you think is a suitable relative salary cap for this version? I remember people being $3mil over last year by the time actual prices come out. So for this one I'm trying to leave $1mil, and I'm actually fairly happy with my team (1.04mil leftover).
Title: Re: Fanplanner 2013

I've made my ideal team with about 300k to spare, will just have to adjust for when the official salary cap and prices are released.

The magic number will be about right if the format for 2013 with 23 rounds and 3 byes stays the same, so all players whom played the majority of the season will be accurate. Looks to be a few too many and generous discounts, so if you load up with them you may go over.
Title: Re: Fanplanner 2013
Post by: masedog333 on September 11, 2012, 03:01:53 PM
Last year you could fit 14 premiums and 1 mid- pricer, but if they were more expensive premiums maybe 13 premiums and 2 mid-pricers. ATM I have 702K in the bank with 13 premiums and 4 mid-pricers, which means that if the prices are calculated with the  the same averages as last year you will probably need about 850-900K left in the bank right now. Thats only if DT keeps the 2 man bench of course, if its a 3 man bench the prices will be completely different.
Title: Re: Fanplanner 2013
Post by: KoopKicka on September 11, 2012, 04:31:50 PM
Currently got 11 premiums and 6 midpricers, got 626k in the bank.

Post by: Matty411 on September 17, 2012, 03:13:36 PM
m0nty if you read this - it'd be good if you could consider this for implementation.

Firstly cheers for the early fanplanner - awesome work!

I just can't help but notice that there's a lot of discuss on the forums about the strong likeliness of the Magic Number being well out from what it's likely to be released at once DT opens... I notice the Salary Cap has been aptly increased but it's not in line with what the MN will likely be.

I know we won't know what it'll be until the Team Picker is released mid-December but maybe we could update it to be a bit closer to what it'll likely be? That way coaches can at least start to concoct realistic teams instead of seeing ones with ridiculously stacked teams ala this time last year - only to be completely hacked to pieces when the true MN was annouced.

May I suggest an updated MN to around 5000-5100 to be more realistic? I think this would benefit everyone at this stage...

Cheers

A magic number of 5000 would mean you'd need roughly $550-600k remaining to fit under the new cap

Hey m0nty, love your work! It seems you have 'blocked' my personal message so I'll just chuck it here :)

G'day mate,

There has been a lot of talk about Carrazzo losing his dpp next year.

1) do you have any inside info from champion data about this
2) what do you think he will be

I wasn't sure he could have played enough games to go into an exclusive midfielder...?

Appreciate your thoughts!
Title: Re: Fanplanner 2013
Post by: Ziplock on September 23, 2012, 03:04:36 PM
le, 14 games is easily enough of an assessment, and you don't really need inside info if you watch most the games... that being sia,d I only saw one or two carlton games, but both of them carrazzo seemed to be almost purely a mid.

I mean like inside info from Champion Data or something because thats who makes the possies up. He might knwo through his fanplanner work and that.

If you tag all the top midfielders like Ablett, etc, how can you not be considered a pure midfielder.

We might as well quit player any fantasy games if Carrazzo is a defender next year.

I don't have any inside knowledge, no.

As has been noted many times before, classification relies mostly on where you get your possessions on the field. I don't quite know how Carrazzo has survived as a back this long either.

Also - Anthony Tipungwuti was born on 22/4/93 not 22/4/94 and has dropped some weight too, now listed as 72kg.

Secondly, I think Dean Terlich should be classified as either D (where he played most of 2012) or D/F (as he played forward for most of his career).
I realise it's just a little thing, but isn't accuracy the aim of the game? Cheers :)

The Fanplanner has been updated to reflect the new 6-8-2-6 positional distribution. This will probably mean that you have a few players in the wrong spots, like a back in the centres and a forward in the rucks. I considered wiping those positions so everyone could start clean, but I think you'll work it out anyway.

There's a new selection process for your fantasy teams next year.
There are several earlier posts that go into more detail of D/T and S/C rule changes for 2013 that you might want to look up at FanFooty.

Next year you will be choosing 6 playing defenders (2 reserves), 8 mids (2 reserves), 2 rucks (2 reserves) and 6 fwds (2 reserves).

Like a lot of people that had teams in fanplanner before the new rules ,I am just wondering if everybody had the same problem that I had. Players were shifted in to new positions to fit in with the new structure i.e. Lance franklin was moved to my ruck , Sam jacobs was moved to my midfield and so on. After fixing my team to the new structure I clicked on to place players by price only to have all resort back to the wrong positions. I even totally removed them all and started again only for it to happen again. The only way I could fix this was once I had decided on all my defenders was to click on choose all defenders and that worked then to do the same with rest. I am just wondering if any body else had this problem and there is a way to be able to use the sort team by price icon.

I have made the requested database changes for the Fanplanner. Let me know if I forgot any.

As for the magic number, that's probably going to change given the rule adjustments, but I have no way of knowing what the new one will be so I won't make a new guess.

Is there something I need to do to get them all straigt again?

Hi m0nty, Dylan Van Unen came up as a defender in 7 or 8 sources I could find.

“I play back line predominately, I was thrown up the field at times last year and hopefully I can play as a third tall reading the play and playing that chop out role,” he said.

I think you could safely make him a B/C or even just a back rather than pure mid. Cheers. :)

Looking at the prices released by HS looks like revised prices may be 5/10k below actuals. Eg Ablett at $740,500 and Pendles $667,300

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/supercoach-news/supercoach-2013-sneak-peek/story-fn88c7kz-1226539493330

Some one with SC Gold may have all prices.

The Supercoach MN is 5350, I have fixed those.

Highlights from Dr DT's noon tweetathon:

Ball 10% discount
Bock 10%
LeCras 20%
Leuenberger 20%
Varcoe 30%

The surprises in the discounts are all on the low side. Suddenly I have half a million less dollars than I used to!
