Post by: EL TIGER on August 21, 2012, 09:04:57 PM
Will possibly cost me a donut...

Will he play, given the importance of this game???

Think Lyon said he would play despite suffering a few niggles.

Pav is no stranger to playing through soreness, and given he is not getting belted about in midfield these days he is a strong chance to play this week. It sounds like he was in more doubt last week (just not publicly at that stage) and he still managed to get up for it.

out of interest, what do you consider to be the importance of this game?

assuming things go the way we think they will (haw beat wc, nth pump gws, gee either win or not lose by much to syd), i think we'll see freo cruise to a 7-12 goal win, and hope to come in 8th and get a "home" final v wc.

if anything other that the above happens then god help the dees b/c freo will know exactly how much they need to win by and it could be a bloodbath.

HOWEVER, given that we and freo wont know what's happened until saturday night i'd expect pav to be named like last week. you'd want to have pretty good bench coverage for him because if my above scenario comes true i think they may not risk him again.

thoughts?

He'd be dying for the Coleman wouldn't he? It takes a week to find form aftter a rest, Lyon should bring him in for a few goals at least, and if Freo plays a high possession/low scoring game because they dont want to win by too much, Pav could score big!... Thats what im hoping/praying for anyway lol

With West Coast losing I can see him being replaced...Not saying that Freo is into tanking games but if you don't have to leave home in the first week....
