Jared Brennan now named as DEF only.
B.Waters - P.Duffield - D.Stanley - M.Johnson
...with Brent Reilly and Jared Brennan on the bench.
That's 5 defenders in the top 15 for averages, with 3 of them being top 5. Not a bad backline at all. 8)
:o That is a pretty good defence. Is someone thinking of challenging the Folders for the premiership next year? Not sure on that forward line though, quite old.
Shouldn't have backed out of our original trade ;)

I was the premiership favourite before DPP changes... Fyfe becoming MID only, and Stanley DEF only... my forward line was especially good.
But now, I would have to say that you're the favourite. My rucks and backline is better, even though you have Swanny, I would say that we have an even midfield... but your forward line kills mine. :(
Yes I was saved with DPP not changing, with Zorko and Lewis keeping theirs. I spent quite a bit of time sweating over whether or not they would keep it. And Swanny will be a great captain, much better than Selwood ;)
Lewis was always keeping it. Played a lot forward this year.
How is that possible I don't think he played defence once this year
Quite simple gents! It is looking like VS don't know what the flower they're doing
Just checked on the team picker, Pup is fwd only.
Really nice work on the profile hyperlinks bro :D
Looks very good :o

Yea people have pretty much handed you favouritism :P
You'll be buggered next year though when Martin/Welly are back to mid only and Riewoldt wouldnt be far off retiring? (not sure how old he is)
Trade News
(14/02/13) - Watch out everyone, the Bears have just picked up Matty Boyd in what could be the premiership winning trade. David Mundy and Sharrod Wellingham were traded to the Turkey Gazelles (http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,66510.0.html) in exchange for Boydy and Ryan Lester. It's sad to see Mundy go as he was rated very highly at the club, but we think it's the right move in order to win the premiership. Wellingham also wasn't happy when he was told that he'd be required in a tagging role. Matthew Boyd has been given the captaincy immediately.
Welcome Matthew Boyd and Ryan Lester!

Great work here Ads, will be recommending you 100% next time a job comes up somewhere in a different league!
May or may not need to steal the way you've done your fixture for the Bashers thread update :P
Certainly will mate :)
Looks sick Ada, I've half-done something similar but probably won't bother finishing it haha ::)

Thanks Colli! feels good to be the inaugural winners. 8)
Glad we managed to take it home considering how old our squad is. Would have felt a bit like a wasted year if we didn't tbh.
Congrats to Adamant and your Bears! Very deserving premiers this year! :)
Well done Adamant! very nice

With a total of 58 votes, I declare the winner of the 2013, and inaugural Bangladesh Best and Fairest Award, Nick Riewoldt!
Nick has been absolutely outstanding all season for us, was a major part of our success this year. He played 21 games with a season average of 144, which was the second highest average for forwards and sixth overall in the competition. He polled 58 out of a possible 100 votes, and registered at least one vote in all but six games, highlighting just how amazingly consistent his season was. Riewoldt was rewarded for his efforts this season by captaining the Bears' to the inaugural AXV Premiership for 2013.
The Bangladesh Best and Fairest Award will now be named the Nick Riewoldt Medal.

congrats to NRoo and great season and being a champion a worthy name for he Bears medal.
Well done NRoo. Great season and a deserving winner! :)
Nice work with the B&F, I like the scoring system for the votes.
You definitely got one of the steals of the draft with Nroo 8)

Cheers, the scoring system was done to even it up a bit and give other positions a better chance of polling (since midfielders will obviously outscore any other position most of the time).
Yeah, NRoo was an awesome pickup. Definitely didn't expect this season from him.
Big Nicky Roo that's the way! Great pick Ad's!
Pav straight in as skip! Big move! :o

He's an absolute champion and my favourite player, how could I not give him the captaincy? :P
First Waters, and now Duffield out for 6 weeks. Walker needing more minor surgery on the knee last month. A huge cloud over Crowley. Sylvia banished to Peel. Might be a shaky start to the title defence this year mate ;)

Waters played a total of 7 games across the past two seasons for us. Walker and Duffield just need to be right at the business end of the year, Crowley is depth at best, and Sylvia has done flower all since we got him.
Besides, we like to keep ourselves under the radar. ;) I'd be more concerned about how you boys are going to cover the loss of Libba this season. :P
haha yeh... spose I have to cop that
