Title: How on Earth...
Post by: JamSainter on August 11, 2012, 12:48:00 AM
... Did Stephenson score 85?!?!  :o His hitouts weren't that effective were they? He took a couple contested admittedly but I don't see where he could have made up his 40 points difference from DT.

It is incredible. He tried hard, that's well and good.... But it is as if he has been rewarded extra points for trying against the 2 best at it in the comp!?!?! What else can those points be for???
You can't get points for trying though!

Read the title and thought this would have been about Selwood. 38 at the half - how the fk did he end up on 99?

ANOTHER GOOD ONE!
I am going to investigate this! As Selwood and Stephenson (realistically) didn't have much impact on the game so they can't be rewarded on impact alone so why do they get these extra points?
Selwood had a few hard ball gets but not enough to get 50 points in that last quarter!?!

does it really come down to ball use? effective and efficient disposal?

I was shocked when i saw Orrens score. My oppoenent has him emerg. wiith Roughy on the field, and when i saw Orren poor 1st half scorkng, i thought i was in for a treat. Watched the entire 2nd half without looking at any SC scores, and thought Orren would only get about 20-30 more points for what was no where near a good performance. Was smashed in the ruck, and gave away 5 frees as well?

When did orren get his possessions on the second half? At the death? Assuming Redwood did the same thing and during that period the scores are given away as freely as the Gillard wastes our money...

This is nothing new so stop complaining and take it like a man  :p

For the recword I don't have orren on the field nor do I wish for him to play and everyone I'm vsing has him as well so other makes no difference to me....

Oh I aint versing anyone with Orren or J. Selwood so that doesn't matter but it doesn't happen that often, particularly when the guy has given up 5 free kicks which is -20 points!!!!

Selwood scored ok because he did his work when the game was on the line as for the Big O 14 touches with 13 contested possesions 2 contested marks 5 clearences and 7 1%'s is not a bad game from a ruckman at all even if he did only get 14 hitouts.

the game is 4 quarters. same happened last week with hawks. champion data get to a point where they have to award points to get to 3300 thats why in last quarter they all ton up.

He was a link a few times out of the Eagles backline, and when it came down to the crunch in the end was betting Cox.  Cox and Nic Nat were smashing Walker more than Stephenson.

Double lock of Nic Nat and Cox for me next year, especially if Cox has MPP.

I agree, Selwood was all over the place in the second half and id say that he did have a fair influence on the game when it mattered.

No that's bull.
I like SC because it rewards effective disposal and punishes poor disposal.
The whole let's give player X (big O) more points because he tried hard and took a couple of good marks in the second half is crap but you take the good with the bad.
