Is it just me or is the website really slow? ???
i'm finding it very difficult to open the forum to access any topic as over the last week it has been extremely slow to load
i have just given up half the time due to sheer frustration because it hardly ever loaded the topics just the background to the page
i know m0nty is working hard to make the forum work even with the large traffic that this place has,
but as a suggestion, does m0nty have a ghost site (one he can test the code with, separate to the main site)
or is it more due to the large number of users on the forum that i'm experiencing this issue?
sorry if my suggestion is already being implemented

Just run a speed test on your internet because I experience it definitely on the weekends, but not usually during the week.
I usually get connection problems on weekends.
it was fine only a week ago so yeah not sure
atm going through the speed tests
There were some "too many connections" issues on the weekend, which was of course due to heavy traffic. It didn't seem too bad though.

Thanks Monty - I had the too many connections message a couple of times over the weekend but whilst annoying at the time was ok a little later. Think with what this site provides we need to realise that traffic on weekends will be heavy.

but that could be my cpu being old and crusty since every site seems to be stuffin up :P
Must admit tonight I have had more too many connections, server reset, connections problems than usual. But seems to be working ok now as i get up to date.

Same. I couldn't access the forums from around 5-8pm Sunday night.
The FanFooty main page was fine though.
Cic is right i had it all last week just took forever to load
i started thinking maybe i was infected with a virus or something
but by the weekend it went back to normal and loaded fast
was only having problems with FF nothing else at the time and it was the forum anytime day or night on weekdays every other site loaded as quick as usual
not sure what was going on but was frustrating and then by the weekend as i said it was back to normal

For me was around 4-8PM. Still I'm ok with this atm. :)
To be honest, I'm not sure why you're on the forums at peak live game time. That is what the live chat is for. :)

obviously this is an issue that needs addressing, hell it takes me 10 minutes just to make this post I get connection issues that often ::)

I have to agree with Q Do not know what it was like earlier in the afternoon. I came home from the game and went into to FF and have had numerous connection issues between 5 and now. In some cases have even had to repost when i eventually got to connection stage again. Worst I have seen it to be honest. Usually get a ferw from time to time but never to this extent.
its getting worse,, if the site has problems when to many people are on, then it will be pretty hard to expand the site beyond the numbers it currently has.. so probably needs to be fixed

In my case Monty had just returned from the game (Brisbane v GWS) and wanted to catch up on some SC scores etc. but kept messages too many connections. Also the live commentary and chat on games froze on a couple of occasions as well and had to reset. No criticism intended of you Monty as you do a fantastic job and just commenting on the couple of issues raised. Really appreciate this site due to the lack of AFL info in Qld.

Non-Fantasy related boards? Also to talk about other games that may have finished, team boards etc...
I'm upgrading the RAM on the server, hopefully overnight.

yes, IF the RAM was actually upgraded, then it didn't have much of an effect
Throughout the weekends, when FF is busy, and I load the page, there is a message saying that the server is busy. This has happened many times and slowed down the FF site.
Is there anything that came be done to increase the server strength so that more people can access FF without having to put up with the lag?
This has been reported a couple of times over the last couple of weeks.

Monty it is still quite a common occurrence especially at the moment I have had about 6/8 in the last half hour. Know that there are games going in and even when I want to check stats can get a too many connections or server busy message. Even this is my third attempt to post into this thread. You do an excellent job with the site so just passing on my comments. Being a lions man obviously quite happy today.!!!!
Been happening all season, and I keep bugging M0nty to upgrade the server, but he never does :P
Actually I did upgrade the RAM a week or two ago.
I think there may have been an issue with the links on the live pages going to the www server, which I fixed late on Sunday. Hopefully that will take the pressure off somewhat next week.
I will look into putting the forums on a separate server in future, that would hopefully solve the problem once and for all.

all other browsing is fine.
This is terribly slow right now for me. Anyone else experiencing the slow load times?
