Done.
And how about each coach votes on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis? Again, just like the real deal :)

My only chance this year is caddy. I have the winner of 2013 I'm jaeger bomb though
we doing something like this for euros? :P
ftr, imo it should be 'run like the actual rising star'
does this mean that it includes games played inthe actual afl clubs and age limit? or just age limit, since games played for the clubs is only just starting?
just saying :P
if we run it for the euros holz, I think it should just be age limit :P
Less then 10 AFL[/b played, and under 21 at January 1 are the rules for me...

i guess we could add it to the euro, you only want the agl limt rule so guys like JZ can take it. I think we should keep it within the normal rules.
well, partially, but its mostly because we didnt draft every player, so we lose a fair chunk of rising star candidates. Also, it makes sense, considering that technically none of 'our' players have played a game yet :P
Congratulations to
Billy Longer
From the Dublin Destroyers for being the Round 3 nominee.
Longer had to toil hard in the wrong position, but his unadjusted score was 85 points, giving him the nod.
what a champion longer is, very happy to have him as my 3rd ruck, i thought caddy was my only chance this year.
Mummy, Clarke, Longer combo looking pretty good at the moment. Clarke will be getting DPP next year so Longer will need to step up into the number 2 spot.
Jealous of that ruck Holz!
I originally had McEvoy-Kreuzer-Stanley which I thought was good. Traded Kreuzer for Lids, Stanley turned out just to be a forward. I picked up Renouf, but he can't get a game (damn Redden).
So basically if McEvoy gets injured, I'm buggered!
Happy with my rucks.
Jacobs and Minson are first choice at their clubs. Griffin should get plenty of games this year according to Lyon, then got Lowden and Daw as future prospects and Roughy if needed can move from the forward line :D
Vardy, Jenkins, Warnock, Redden. That's it. :-\ The first one is injured, the next two can't get games. Cheers Jarrad Redden. :D
I'm sure Dylan Grimes finds his Round 2 Australian Football League Rising Star nomination a bit worthless, after winning the World League Rising Star the week before.

To be fair I had forgotten he was eligible. I was only looking at first year players when I said that...

Toby Greene (New York)

Moscow gets it second nomination....
Adam Treloar (Moscow)
Scoring 96 points.

Wallis has in fact only played the ONE WXV match, which he did very well and scored 105.
Round 1: 80 - Will Hoskin-Elliott (Moscow)
1 WXV Match, Average: 80.00
Round 2: 92 - Dylan Grimes (Berlin)
6 WXV Matches, Average: 84.00
Round 3: 85 - Billy Longer (Dublin)
2 WXV Matches, Average: 72.50
Round 4: 88 - Jack Hombsch (New York)
6 WXV Matches, Average: 70.83
Round 5: 105 - Mitch Wallis (Sao Paulo)

Round 6: 99 - Toby Greene (New York)
2 WXV Matches, Average: 61.50
Round 7: 96 - Adam Treloar (Moscow)
3 WXV Matches, Average: 74.00
From that, I think Dylan Grimes would be the favourite.

No need for that. Trying to take the shine off Treloar's achievement.
Adam is a gun, and he'll continue to get games for Moscow. We gladly gave up our 5th pick for him. He is the reason I suggested, and pushed for a trade period. He's not even fully fit yet and he is performing well. When the game was on the line Sheeds sent him forward. 5 mins later he had kicked a goal, and set up another. Stands up when it matters, like all SC guns do. Well done young man.
Jesse Stringer will get a nomination no doubt, he has found a perma spot in the Armadillos, just needs to fire for a game or two. If Clay Smith can avoid the vest, then he may push for selection too.

We've spoken to his manager, and he said Mitch is unhappy at the Pumas. He feels as if he should be getting games, but the coach treats him like Richmond used to treat Shane Tuck. Wallis has been carrying around a sheepskin rug on his head in preparation for the colder climate.
And our Round 8 Nominee hails from New Zealand,
Congratulations to:

Don't think we'll see any nominees from the Islanders, unless Curtly Hampton or Jacob Townsend dominates one week and they just happen to be in the side for whatever reason.
Unless Dom Tyson beasts it up I won't get a nomination.

Not sure what they are now, but the week after he picked up his nomination (so round 4 I think) his odds were $16. Obviously will be less than that now though...

Hmm possibly. I watched the first half of the Suns vs Port match and he was dominating. Missed the second half when Suns switched off so he may miss out because of that
While im not going to win the rising star, having 2 guys already shows im going to be good in the future especially with one being a ruck and another a forward.

Not sure I follow that logic c4, think the amount of matches would make Shiel more deserving. Elliott's effort could be a fluke :)
Despite playing out-of-position as a ruck, this week's nominee showed enough form to give a solid contribution to his team's win... Cape Town's first nomination.

We welcome the Pacific's first nomination, who on WXV debut, was named in his team's best.
Congratulations to:
CURTLY HAMPTON (Pacific)
Scoring 103

Well if the award was given to the player whose manager got the most excited about a nomination then Hampton would have the award sewn up!!

Perhaps there should be an award like that... :P
Carlisle getting close to a nomination but not good enough :(

He has one more chance!
Surely Wallis has to be the rising star. Averaging 93.44 points per game he has played for the Pumas, which is 9 of the 16 games. He has only been available for 13 games so only missed 4 games for the season. Has also played all those 9 games in the mid 4 for the Pumas. Much harder for a player to break in to the mids of a team than other positions.

The AFL Rising Star will almost certainly to the struggling club in GWS. I think the WXV Rising Star should also go to a struggling club. Like the Islanders. :P
Hence, vote for Curtly Hampton. ;D
Stephen Coniglio will clearly be a superstar, and the best of this lot for certain.....
Guys. Dylan Grimes. Enough said.
Averages in the 90's and close to 100 if he hasn't been injured for that game, so clearly he is the best player if he was to play the whole year, and the player with the best average if he played the whole of every game he played.
Why vote for anyone else? I just don't understand it..........
Grimes averages 78? ???

In 9 games, he's averaged 77.89. That's not 90.
Why vote for anyone else? Cause you lie. And lies make baby Jesus cry. :P

Lol
That may be true, but take the two games he got either injured or subbed out (besides last game) he averages 82.
Ok, maybe I over-exaggerated, I was trying to think off the top of my head lol.
Still, find me a better rising star defender (I haven't looked, Im just hoping) ....... for defenders it is harder to score higher than midfielders.
Very valuable for my struggling Brewers.
So again, why vote anyone else 8)
Vote for my players....
Oh wait, i have none. :(
Is everyone paying attention to this weeks nomination in the AFL rising star?
Treloar had next to no preseason, and he has caught and overtaken all the other nominations already. Imagine how he'll go with a preseason behind him.
Do you have 2nd year player Grimes in your SC team? How about 2nd year player Mitch Wallis? Unlikely. Do you have Treloar, the man who racked up 37 possessions against Collingwood, in his first season?
Adam has played pretty much every game this season for Moscow, and looks to be a future captain of the club.
On top of that he is an absolute ripping bloke.

Can't use that as an argument. If Wallis cost the same as Treloar did at the start of the year then I definitely would have had him in my SC team.

If were going by the struggling club method than surely one of my players will be a shoe in to win it.
To be honest I think its more impressive if a player can break in to one of the top teams and play consistently for them. Much harder to play for one of the top teams rather than a struggling team.
Even though he hasn't represented Toronto this year, vote Tom Hickey. He's looking into your soul...

Hahahaha, top work RB.
Currently Islander Jamie Elliott's 93 is enough to put him in front for the final Rising Star nominee.... Can he hold on?

So glad I listened to my assistant coach and picked him up!
Carlisle will chase that down ;)
