Title: Dream Team Pre Season
Post by: Mr.Craig on March 19, 2012, 06:29:57 PM
While the AFL players have been working hard on their skills we have been busy working on ours.

So where do you think you are at? What have you learnt this pre season and what is going to be a pass mark for the coming year?

For me a pass mark would be a humble 3000 but the goal is definitely top 1000.

Good question! I've gone for my foolish age old mid price love selections so I'm hoping the non change there is not a lesson learned! I think realistically i'm not thinking about where i'm going to finish overal but more about just being some sort of chance with my initial squad to be around the mark. Last year I was inside the top 30 after around 4 rounds with supercoach and it was good to think you actually have some chance of winning, I ended up falling away quite rapidly due to some computer issues and resulting non trades but hey it's dream team we want anyway!

Just to not be miles of early and chasing tail is the go.

Got a ranking of around 3400 last year it what can only be described as my break out year.  I only lost three times all season, but I was robbed in the prelim by the guy that beat me twice.  No idea how he beat me once, let alone twice, as I was ranked a staggering 21,699 places better than him.  My only other loss was in the Eliminator where I lost by 5 points.  I was up by three points late on after Yarran decided to go stupid and nearly win it for me off his own boot, but Murphy, my opponent's captain, got two late handballs which gave him 8 points, which was enough to win it for him. :(

So yeah, certainly looking to win my league this year (filled with pretty much the same blokes as last year, including my now main enemy) and would really like to improve on my over all ranking to be below the 3000 mark.  A ranking of 2500 and winning my league would be more than a success!

For me, last year was my first year of taking Dreamteam seriously and i ended up ranked about 7400.Unfortunately I made some bad mistakes which took me from around 2000 to 20,000 but with some good decisions i found myself climb back under 10,000. This year i hope to try and crack the top 1000.

Third season break-out rule applies to me this year, been working lot more on my team then last couple of years (where I came 30k-ish and 10k after slipping from 2k) and am hoping for top 1000, although anything under 3000 I'll be pretty happy with.

21, nice! The highest weekly rank I got was when I pulled out a 2646 during that crazy round when all the premiums exploded.
