Title: Mid price defender?
Post by: Justin Bieber on February 07, 2012, 09:08:32 PM
I have a defence that consists of Goddard, Delideo, Birchall, Grimes, M. Clarke, B. Ellis, T. Mohr, T. bugg, B. Smedts

EDIT: Alright, but have 214k in the kitty so what does anyone recommend?

Upgrade grimes for a prem or upgrade one of the rookie players for a mid pricer?

Any comments will be great.

Whatlez.

Your starting mids are exactly the same as mine. xD  Don't do a thing, keep the cash.

EDIT:  Actually, I have Scotland as well.

Oh alright. Well I always get ranked down for my defence on other threads so why is that?

Probably because of all the players you are going to miss in the last bye round.  I'm personally going to be missing four premiums and a starting rookie (Ellis) so I really need to take a look at that.

Anyway, with only 24k left there's not much upgrading you can really do, so if you're happy with your other lines then that's the best you're going to get for your defence unless you tinker around with it a bit more.

Ahh damn it. It's 214k my bad... That just stuffed everything up. Well I will have 4 out including Ellis, but will be covered by Luke Brown.

Strongly consider BEN JACOBS from port, he is gonna be a star and well worth the punt this year, im expecting at least 80 average, hes a lock for me

Conca will collide with byes. Already have 4 out that game.

Keep Grimes. I would upgrade one rookie to someone like Armstrong.

Sydney has a good record with recycled players.  ;)

I'd go Grimes up to a premium and leave the rest of the money in the bank for upgrades.

Interesting since Grimes is well picked and should score 80+ average.

Oh ok what about Campbell Heath (Risky), Beau Wilkes, Billie Smedts, Will Sierakowski, Tomas Bugg and Mark Baguley (You probably havent heard of this guy but he is a gun). These are  pretty much all of your options.

Armstrong, Conca, X.Ellis, Duffield, Gilbert, Lake are all educated risks you could take! (I'd only have 1-2 in my side)

How many of them do you currently have?

The pick of them would have to be Gilbert and Duffield.

Well I'm not, we will see what happens. NAB cup will see the fitness of these older players and will give us an idea how well they will play.
