Title: Ben Mcevoy v Sandilands
Post by: n.r.i. on February 07, 2012, 11:34:38 AM
Deciding which ruck to take in along with Giles as my 2nd ruck (asuming his nab cup scores are good enough) But cant seem to decide, whos everyone going with? or who would be the better option of the 2

Im going with the big Sandy, seems he is over his injury last season, and we all know how dominating he can be!

Gotta give im another go!

Problam with Sandi is that he rarely plays 22 games a season. I would rather have someone who may avg slightly less but play all season. Unless your happy to play your rookies when he's out.

Year         Games       Avg
2008          22           81.8
2009          20           95.5
2010          19           97.8
2011          13           95

There's not really any reason why Sandi would play less games this year than McEvoy, or anyone else. Both seem to have had good pre seasons and are fully fit. Its just up to chance on whether they get injured and I'm pretty sure Sandi is over his turf toe.

Sandi for sure. Lyon will sort out his injury problems/manage him better imo.

Also I think we might see him spending a bit of time in attack and kicking a few goals.

I'm not saying you should get McEvoy. Just pointing out that Sandi over the past few years has missed some games.

If Sandi is over his injuries great for you, could be a good pick. Just don't discount other rucks just yet.

I certainly wouldn't trust mummy (missed a lot of games last year with injury and very inconsistant) or jacobs (incredibly inconsistant) over sandi or Mcevoy but i would the burger over both of them.

you're right there's a lot of good ruck options this year cox, leuenberger, goldstein, sandi, mcevoy, mummy, jacobs.. and now even d.hille possibly? I just think Sandi may be a little underpriced from his injuries last year.
