so am i right in thinking there is no salary cap? or prices i.e. no point in picking up cash cows?
also is it the same as DT 1)in scoring? 2) with capt. getting double points?
lastly is there any helpful tips i should know?

Players dont have prices, but their value is their scoring ability. Captains earn double pts. Players can be traded between teams. Pick the highest scoring players you can when its your turn to pick- probably the best advice i can give you!! Players can be traded after the draft, so you can trade in or out extra midfielders/defenders/ forwards or whatever you need to structure your team.
Coaches vote on trades, a majority vote will either allow or veto the trade. Players who arent drafted can be picked up at any time off the free agency list. Doesnt take long to pick it up. Good clean fun:) draft may start tomorrow if everyone checks in.

You got 3, 18, 23 chief. We didnt randomise the draft until this afternoon. Top 3 pick is sweet!!:) draft starts at 7am tom morning.
I scored pick 7, so not too bad. The super premiums are pretty close to gone by then :)

tbh, I probably wouldn't have taken lids and shaw at 2 + 3, but my auto draft was just done on a whim, and I was sleeping all day :P

instead of 12 hours,, it should have been manual pick for 3 hours and if u havnt selected in that time it goes to auto-pick. would be complete in maybe a week . i do like the draft thing, i may do another league

BGK joined your league, don't know why we dont just pick a time if possible one night that suits and just do the draft all at once like in DT pro and SC gold where each player has one minute to pick or it goes off thier pre draft list, 3 minutes would be better,
But BGK if you can let me know what the settings will be and when the draft will happen when it fills up that would be great, but i can't be doing a draft through work days in the day, like those other guys doing a draft over a week, with 6 hours for each pick?? that seems crazy so someone might have like 11pm to 5 am window to draft or 10am to 3pm when they are at work?

what i gather is in the draft i'm in, u have 12 hours to pick or it goes to auto-pick and it only runs between 6am and midnight. so if ya time starts at 6pm u would have until midday the following day..(i could be wrong)
it is pretty slow, trying to get everyone on at the same time to conduct it over a night would be the best option.
o i c well 12 hours you can't miss your pick thats ok but will you get the draft finished before the season starts?
if you have 10 in a league and there are 28 spots in your team to pick (with emergencies and bench)
thats 280 picks x 12 hours = 140 days, your draft will still be going in May :o

its 23 spots and i guess if everyone took 12 hours then it would take awhile,, we started this today at 6am and i have just done my 7th pick,, guess it will be complete in a few days
i stuffed up, picked robinson thinking he was a forward,,, press accept and realised he is a centre arrrrrh not happy
Have changed Ultimate Champions League to live online draft on Sunday 26th Feb. Our draft is humming along nicely. people are on the ball which is great. I sort of love that its dragged out over a few days rather than over in 45 mins (my wife doesn't cause she barely sees me!!). I reckon it smashes autodraft or even the online quick draft - it's such a frenzy with 60 seconds to pick -esp if your internet or computer is mucking up.

yeah its coming along alot faster than i was expecting,.
would be nice to have like 20 minutes per pick so u dont have to rush and have coaches that are keen so it could be done in a night
hey BGK if u could switch the "Operate Draft Between 6 AM and 10 PM (AEDT)" to Operate Draft Between 6 AM and 11 PM (AEDT) id b able to get a pick off when i get home from work and therefore not miss a pick or hold anyone up... or hang on what if we made it

I made those changes Marcz. Its now open 24 hours but I'm leaving the picks open for 12 hours. As I won't be available between the hours of 930 pm to 430 am, qld time and I'd imagine others aren't available at certain times during the day too. This will allow everyone fair time to take their picks.
I don't believe we need to set aside an evening or any other part of the day. In the first league I'm in we had 10 picks each yesterday and I've already had 2 this morning. As long as everyone is committed it rolls along nicely. This said, I'm on my I phone all day and night so I'm available almost every moment of the day.

yeah nice BGK i agree with the 12 hour setting, im fairly busy at most times until after work but i always sneak on here or there for 30minutes during the morning/afternoon where i can depending on deliveries and prep, so i could fire off my pick then to keep it rolling

no worries i jumped in your anyway but have also put one up for a fast draft 2 min picks think we can have 4 or 5 each so ill be in 2 plus my own so fat including yours.

I've created another one, 563802 - FFUFL, password is fanfooty. Pretty much standard settings except for an increased bench of 10 to cater for the bye rounds and also to allow for a bit of rookie speculation ;D. Also, Lineup Changes Lockout set to individual game time.
There weren't many draft time slots available so it is currently set for Thursday 8th March at 10pm AEDT (90 second picks). However, it did say that more slots would be available once the league got to 3 or more teams.

making the draft a slow draft is ok by me if people dont have a night to spare, seems the one that has already been done went through fast enough.
The first half of our draft was quite fast, now it seems to be really dragging. I'm definitely going to set my team on auto draft and let it take my pre-ranked players for the remaining rounds. Let's get this thing finished!! Can't wait to see my team all set up and start trading!!! ;D
I love the first phase after you've drafted your squad - the stare phase. Just spending stupid amounts of time starting at the screen learning all your players. ::)

Yeah heaps smoother i agree. I like to have a bit of control over first picks, just in case a player slips down the draft that you didn't rank or didn't expect to pick up. It means you gotta be checking the page regularly so you don't hold the draft up tho.
I loved getting daniel cross at pick 67, under a new coach he could have a much stronger year. Wait and see:) I didn't have him in my pre-ranks either

I'm strongly considering reducing the pick time from 12 hours down to 2 or 3 for the last rounds (if things don't speed up today). I'd need at least the majority of coaches to give a vote of confidence to do so.
I might leave a message on the topic board and see if anyone responds...
this is why i say a minute or two a pick its all over in one night / day in a couple of hours, and anyone who cant be there gets autopicked which is what it looks like your whole league is now doing anyway.

Yeah it's hard when most guys are committed and checking often/setting rankings etc, cause it only take a couple of coaches to really slow the whole thing down.

I'm not happy about it either Zip. I really think an extra 24 hours would've been fine. I can't believe people would change the rules without everyone being informed of it. Strongly considering cutting my ties with the comp all together. I was enjoying the draft until I ended up with Grundy.
I've put in offers to sign out gysberts + jones for player that I actually want.
Yeah, I was a bit pissed off, especially since I got screwed, and I've been using the pre-listed auto draft all comp.
on the + side, the giants side with a combined total of 18 afl level game experience really made cwood shower themselves a bit :P

??? yikes thats a bit rough... do over? then manually set the same draft order :-\
either that or the commissioner could manually change teams at the conclusion of the draft by finding the point of the rule change and then fielding each persons pick from the available pool that was left at that time, bit of leg work but the latter is the better option in righting the wrong imo...

it may be a good idea BGK to have the 12 hour picks until pick 15 or so. then make a day/time and change to a 5 minute per pick until its finished. everyone just have to make sure they have their pre-draft sorted if they cant get to a computer on that day/night. ofcourse its up to , im happy with whatever

If you set the pre-draft rankings, does it only draft if you're not online? Or does it still auto-draft them for you even if you are online at the time?
I *think* it drafts if you're not online.
personally, I had pre-set my rankings, but not for my last 2 picks, since I think I had a final double pick last, and knew I could take it whenever.
then I got skipped :P
yeah i would say if your on when its your turn you pick, if you are not and your time runs out it picks off your list, if you have no list or have run out of players on your list i assume it would just pick the next player in the cue by rank according to the site.

I just checked the available draft dates and the only one between now and the current date is Friday 24/2 so probably not. Definitely will be a late start (10pm AEDT at the earliest) to suit some of the current coaches.
i think as you fill up the league more draft dates/times open up, but whenever it is it is :)

If I start it at night Marcz won't be home (if he is in the league, I think he is) he works nights. I can't make everyone happy, I'm happy to start it a little later, but either way I go someone will be inconvienienced.

if u set up your pre-draft, but leave it on manual selection. u will have your alloted time to pick and when time runs out, it will auto-select for u(online/offline doesnt matter.. if u do your pre-draft and turn it to auto-select, it will automatically pick the next player in order of your pre-draft str8 away whether u are online or not.
so best way is too make sure u have your pre-draft done and leave your settings to manual pick

There is no way we can all miss our first pick, unless none of us come on for 120 hours. Even if you do you will get the highest ranked player available. So the first round isn't exactly a problem.

set your pre-draft up so u pick who u would take anyhow i.e. swan/pendles/ablett/boyd/murphy and so on. so if u are 5th pick and cant get to a computer u will get the highest ranked player on your list who is still available... that will be after your 12 hours are up. then once u get to your computer u can change your settings to auto-pick or whatever.
unless u are the 1st pick your time may not start till later in the day cause all people before u have to choose their players before ur time starts

yeah its all good, still waiting for the first pick but it will be eassy enough to get our pick doen in a 12 hour window, hopefully we all get on close to teh same time occassionaly and that will move it along, but no hurry anyway.

i still dont see it anywhere? is my first time doing a live draft so really dont want it to do it auto style and yes my pre draft list is organised but still id rather pick myself.

it might take everyone thier first pick to realise we are started, maidens almost always on but not till a bit later i think , then our pick 4 has already posted he wont be on until 10;30 pm tonight, i just hope pick 5 is also on so i can get 1 pick in tonight :)
what we need really is everyone to get out of bed in the morning have a pick before work, then hopefully we can do a few picks each night, unlikely tho :)

Yep, I'm on (pick 5). Going out soon but I've got 'Automatic if Ranks' set in my draft preferences. Got 3 choices queued up so it should autopick straight away according to the help text, after Marcz makes his pick of course.

I saw he was up and set auto-draft before I went to cricket thinking my picks would go through because I'm only a couple after him. I think I'd rather stare at a draft countdown for 6.5 hours than field in 35 degrees again.

im in 2 minds about it, becasue the thing with top 3 is you get a good captain - pendles swan ablett. BUT you then get your 2nd pick at the end of the next round
so its like swan and the 16th best midfielder vs boyd and another top ten midfielder if your 8th you get picks 8 and 9
if your 1st you get picks 1 and 16
apart from gettin one of the top 3 i think being top 3 pick then last 3 pick kind of sux
the biggest handicap in not having a top 3 or 4 draft pick is that u dont have a stand-out captain choice, but on the up side u will probably get the best player in the other positions (well 2 positions)
having 8 coaches in this one will make for stronger teams thats for sure

Yes, that's my league, FFUFL (code is 563802). Teams 'whatlez' and 'Colliwobblering' are both in it. Draft is 8th March, 10pm AEDT.
Currently has 7 teams, the settings allow for up to 12 teams but if we get 8 or 10 then that will be ok.

pre rank players by clicking "add to ranks" and adjust "my draft preferences" at the top of the page to suit ur needs ;)
To have the draft AUTOPICK for you, rank all the players you want picked in the list to the right.
Click on MY DRAFT PREFERENCES (show/hide)
choose automatic selection, check smart autopick, SAVE, thats it i think.

If your going to use Auto pick you need to go in depth. If its on Auto as soon as your pick is up it will automatically take your pick. So if you haven't pre ranked players it will take the next one it thinks is the highest rank.
