votes: 17
Option 3: Rory Sloane $429,000
votes: 12
Option 4: Travis Boak $426,000
votes: 6
Option 5: Michael Barlow $424,000
votes: 27
ive put together a list of some lower priced mids, who would you get?
Van Berlo: Crows captain and gun midfielder. Had a solid end of year under Mark Bickley. Should Put DT avergae over 100
Trengove: Demons main boy with Scully gone, should step up this year and really boost his DT average
Sloane: Will be 22 by the time the season starts and will be a better player, really stepping up his game this season.
Boak: A port young gun for may years now. solid average his whole career and should step up among a struggling port.
Barlow: we all know he's a gun.
the description is what i think of them.
barlow will be in the top 5 mid-fielders picked, so im doubting he would be considered unique in any way, shape or form
Barlow is a lock. I'd consider Sloane for my team too though.
Barlow not a unique. Van Berlo is tempting out of the rest of them, particularly with Adelaide's soft start. If you were backing van berlo you'd have to start with him I think... him or Thompson to start with? That just got me thinking...
Van Berlo does look the most enticing out of that list. Think I'll still to Barlow though (even though he's not all that unique).
Van Berlo is so tempting but am already starting with Thommo so am taking Barlow instead
VB man for me...just need 80+ each week to keep him

so u are happy with 80+ points from a premium mid-fielder? (premium=as in a keeper)
Absolutely... A m5 keeper giving me 80 plus. At worst an upgrade to gun won't cost much.

fair enough, if you want to improve in DT you should be looking at your 6th mid being a 105avg. minimum keeper.
Need a few rounds before M6 being a keeper. F5 and D5 first.

Do we really for??? No doubt he is good but should we put him in the 110+ league guns???....I'm not so sure after 1 season (without much attention..) :-\

He did cop tags from Ling in his first season. Doubt him and leave him out of your team at your own risk.
VB killed it toward the end of last season. From memory avg something like 120. if he carries on that path with a nice early draw he could almost straight swap to a superman for the last half.

that would be a luxury trade ..
and push comes to shove are you really gunna trade out a guy who's averaging 100?
u'll be stuck with him, while other teams are getting 15 points more a round...
i think trengove will average the highest out of them as its his thrid year now and he will step up again from last year, and with scully out of the mids he'll get more of the ball
i reckon sloane will be a breakout player this year!
he may not get as much ball as thompson or have the speed of dangerfield but he tries harder than all of them to get his own ball in stoppages and reports out of adelaide say he is among the top fighters in the crows team and has plenty of aggression meaning he will get plenty of tackles and hard ball gets. and when he does get the ball, he uses it properly. he hits the forward target and always makes good choices

OK!! 8) 8) Why take chances with him when it will either be him or Mundy to cop the tags (more likely Barlow) to gain an extra (or arguments sake) $150K increase. The mids are the one position you need them scoring big - REAL BIG!! Does depend on the remaining structure of your team though...
