Title: Best DPP Rookie Player For Mid/Def?
Post by: Windigo on January 28, 2012, 01:53:27 PM
Looking through the list of DPP Mid/Def players. Which would be the best option for the mid position? So me (and others) can swing Deledio etc into mids if need be.

THE LIST:

L.Brown
Docherty
Brad Harvey
R.Newell
Baguley
Wilson
Allen
Aylett
Golds
Nicholson
Andreoli

Are any of the players good enough to warrant a selection? Because I was gunna go with no MPP link. Hm. It'sway to handy not to have one. But I want a player that will score reasonably well.

Luke Brown definently, Sam Docherty has some injuries, but should still be alright, and Jackson Allen looks really good but may struggle for oppurtunities.

going with brown for the mo windy, docherty if he plays rnd 1. would be handy if a couple more of them got early

games . i think you really have to have a couple of dpp's in every line [ not only premos but also rooks] , as these 3 byes may

find us wanting

I'd have to cut a GWS player to put Brown into midfield. His stats look alright. Then I'd need a mid/fwd link....Flower. Zorko is the most obvious. But then things start getting a bit dodgy with their bye round.  :P

I'd have to hope I can make some good cash on them.

Likely starting midfield:

Swan, Ablett, Redden, ???(Maybe Barlow), Clifton & Mitchell (Zorko & Brown)

If I just dis-regard MPP link I'd just go with Shiel & Miles for EMG's.

I don't wanna give up Redden......... :'(

Brown (ADE) or Allen (GCS) for me. Allen at this stage as his Rnd 13 bye means I can upgrade him to a player with a Rnd 11 or 12 bye.

That said, I'm not starting with active DPP links in the MIDs this season. This is primarily to give me a cash/points boost by starting pure MID rooks. The new trading structure means that I can trade out a cashed up MID rook and then activate my MID/DEF link either by trading in a DPP player or (more likely) swapping a Brown/Allen into the MIDS from the DEFs. Same, same for the FWDs.

Seems this strattegy is not very popoular for some reason though. Not sure why  :-\

I have Brown, Jackson allen would probably not get a game or at least not from round 1.

I would go L. Brown but I am not having a link here.

I am going to downgrade someone like Shiel/Clifton/Mitchell to one of these guys that is on the bubble/had their debut so I make 200k off them before making this link. Really you shouldn't need this link until round 12/13.
