Title: DT OPENS IN A WEEK BUT HERE IS AN EARLIER PRESENT
Post by: The F.A.R.K. on January 07, 2012, 11:33:58 AM
Salary cap left: $29,900.

Brendon Goddard, Heath Shaw, Brett Deledio, Bachar Houli, Dyson Heppell, Brandon Ellis, Marty Clarke
Steven Morris, Billie Smedts

Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Dom Tyson, Dayne Zorko, Koby Stevens
Dylan Shiel, James McDonald

Dean Cox, Hamish McIntosh
Jonathan Giles, Orren Stephenson

Nathan Fyfe, Mitch Robinson, David Zaharakis, Dustin Martin, Steele Sidebottom, Adam Treloar, Ahmed Saad
Darren Pfeiffer, Sam Kerridge

Initially had Buntine but have decided that Morris and Ellis look better picks atm and it was a toss up between Broughts and Houli ans Shaw and Enright. Another option I have been toying at is bargain ruck dropping Hmac and promoting Giles and then getting Longer (read up a bit on him yesterday and he is on the FARK List).

FARK out

Yeah Fark. Your mids are screwed.

3 super guns out in round 12 and all 5 rookie missing in round 11. What The shower???

Does it really matter?  going for overall or a league finals, who cares.

I'd prefer to have Swan and Pendles and Selwood leasing up to round 11, 12 and 13 for 10 weeks of 120+ points and miss them for 1 bye only.  Doesn't matter when..

Or have Rockliff(11), Watson(12) and Murphy(13) and share the byes around.  You would surely lose 50 points per week, 70 if you considering captaincy.  So 700 ponts behind before you even get to round 11 and everyone has to have a bye at some stage.

Get over the byes issue, there's no magic loophole available.

My DT motto for 2012 is FARK the byes and concentrating on the other rounds

Okay, so you're looking at scoring above 1600 during the byes and attempting to kill the rest of the season??

No but i dont want to have a shower team all year just to compensate byes. Going for more points per week and league wins

I'm looking to give myself a plan b and maybe even c by using dual position. But I agree, no point basing a team around 3 rounds mid-season. If they were earlier in the season maybe you could plan appropriately but by the time you come you'd be happy just to be in contention league or overall ambition. If you're in the top 100 overall by that stage, the 3 trades for the round might come in great use... But get there first.

yeah round 13 bye - goddard/delidio/houli
round 12 bye swan/pendles/selwood-----and----fyfe/zaka/sidebum
round 11 bye cox/hmac

I assume they are all keepers (hopefuly) so will make your life hard over the bye rounds.

unique and very good, im not sure on the ruck strategy but it sure strengthens the team everywhere else, and for the record only 3 premiums on the round 13 bye in the fwd line otherwise its all good for the byes too.

Very good side and unique.

Nice team.
Kudos for being "ballsy," & going with rookie 2nd ruck.
Even with Harmichael supposedly getting mid time, ??? over him.
So very little to fault in other words! ;)
Good luck!

No Franklin? I though he would be a player you just gotta have..

Lewis is a good option. But I don't think he will be a Franklin like scorer. But still good with the added benefit of DPP.

Jacobs as first ruck is only a minor concern as he will no doubt get better.....It's just HOW much better he will get. You'd be looking at 90+ for the year wouldn't yah?

What's so good about Leigh Adams? Averaged 80+ last two years so improvement is a certainty....

P.S: Nice work with Redden. I think he will get games this year. Surely Primus will pump some games into him. Renouf being there might hinder that a bit though.

alright first off. As much as I like buddy as a player, I cant stand his supensions in DT as well as those off games he has. His accuracy at goal can kill him. Lewis isnt old he could still improve but id be happy with a 90 av from him. I really think the C/F thing is a real advantage.

Jacobs averaged 87 last year and he took a while to get going so he was up there in the mid 90s in second half of year. Id expect around a 95 average. Sanderson at the crows has been a huge addition. All the players have put on 2kg + in muscle and Sanderson understands the modern needs of afl atm. Id expect at least top 8 for crows this year so I have to lock in jacobs

Well Leigh Adams was going to be that mid smokie that everyone looked at to break out into a premium this year. He is a future leader at roos and looks a great player. He is still fairly young (not exactly sure but i think around 24) and now he is c/f. I was considering him as a mid only so now he is c/f he has to be a lock

Well with lobbe injured atm and renouf not being able to train until next week I think redden should get a few games. Want longer but dont have enough moolah in the piggy. Am worried that even tho ports rucks are injured, Westhoff, Stewart and Trengove can all ruck. BTW this could mkae westhoff a huge prospect if he is playing ruck coz he tears up
