Drummond and Lake are two massive risks that I'm not sure will pay off. Apart from that a pretty sound defence.

Midfield is looking pretty good, could with another a star or two in it. Not sure if Watson will play as well as this year next year, so there maybe better options then him. There's better GWS midfield rookie options than Treloar, such as Miles or Reid.

There are better options than McEvoy in my opinion, but Leuenberger is a great choice.

Forward line is looking very good, but would look a lot better with a star like Franklin.

But overall, a great starting team with potential. I'd just take one of Drummond or Lake out, don't go in with two massive risks in the one position. Apart from that, good job :)

Agree with Erich - Only would take one of Drummond or Lake with both coming back from injury and poses risks.

Think you need an extra super prem in mids as Watson is also coming off serious injuries,

This is just a personal opinion in that I feel Beams is overpriced for someone that struggled with injury and initially was not in pies best 22 last season.  Would prefer to see role he is to play with pies prior to locking in. Maybe look at getting Franklin in.

Your rucks are the same as mine as byes need to be taken into consideration and only other choice is Sandi if looking at set and forget and I think McEvoy is better choice based on Sandi's toe history.
Look at rookies pre season as most teams will change rookies.

Please feel free to comment on my latest team 27 December

B:GODDARD, DELEDIO, BROUGHTON, GRIMES, LAKE, DOCHERTY, ELLIS.
(MOHR, BROWN)

M:GAJ, ROCKLIFF, BARLOW, HAYES, MILES, MACDONALD.
(SHIEL, PFEIFFER)

R:LUEY, MCEVOY.
(GILES, STEPHENSEN)

F:FRANKLIN, FYFE, MARTIN, ZAHARAKIS, BROWN, PORPS, ZORKO.
(MILERA, SAAD)

WITH $5,600 LEFT CHEERS GUYS

don't know much about the rookies so can't add much there.

Like the backline - 3 locks with the hope that one of Grimes or Lake will become a lock (4 potential locks)

In the mids, not sure about both Hayes and Barlow, I'd probably lean towards one of them or go a gun/rookie combo to have 3 premium established players.

Rucks - no issue there

Forwards - also good, but Milera won't be starting 22 first up. He will be competing for spots against the likes of Milne, Schnieder, Saad and Sipposs who play similar roles...

My team as it stands atm:

23k remaining.

Backs - Goddard, Deledio, Enright, Birchall, Grimes, Lake, B.Ellis
(wilkes, Blee)

Mids - GAJ, Murphy, Selwood, Wingard, Zorko, Shiel
(Mitchell, Kerridge)

Rucks - Sandi, McEvoy
(Giles, Stephenson)

Fwds - Franklin, Fyfe, Riewoldt, Brown, Didak, Saad, Dick
(Smedts, Rowe)

I don't like Brad Dick in my team, but its a starting point..

thanks, yeh i had dick in my initial team too, not sure on his role or game time at the eagles, just have to wait and see i spose.
maybe throw james mcdonald into ur mids and swap dick for zorko is an option.

Title: Re: **RATE MY TEAM PLZ**

IVE SINCE UPGRADED ZAHA TO GOODES AND GRIMES TO BIRCHALL.
Title: Re: **RATE MY TEAM PLZ**
Post by: Ringo on December 28, 2011, 07:18:07 PM
Like Grimes to Birchall

Would have kept Zaha though. Just my opinion that Goodes is an upgrade target for later in the season as he averages 20 points more for the second half of the season.
Title: Re: **RATE MY TEAM PLZ**
Post by: 4INAROW on December 28, 2011, 07:32:46 PM
THANKS, WOULD YOU SUGGEST LEAVE ZAHA AND HAVE MONEY LEFT OVER THEN? OR LOOK TO UPGRADE TO SUM1 ELSE?

Would just leave money in the bank if happy with team. Give you a handy start on upgrades.

im trying a premium- rookie strategy this year with the exception of j.brown and maybe m.clarke probably just over priced for rookie status, but overall trying to stay away from risky mid pricers this year providing my rookies get game time.

Fair argument with mid price queries. Time will tell if rookies can score similar to those mid priced players. Unsure of the answer.

Personally not sure Luey can repeat 2011 season. I always like to go with 100 point every week ruckman. Does he fit into that category??

time will tell i guess, will be watching him closely in nab as with all my rookies

Yes he does, hell dominate again and unlike alot of rucks he will not be benched as much.

Umm no Porplyzia I really think hes a must.
Im a crows supporter and I wouldnt nessecarily bank on Kerridge playing round 1.  I see him about a 30% chance to at this stage.
Questions over JB, but I can understand why ud pick him
Shiel intresting choice, if you can see him scoring around 110 then its a good pick otherwise youd be better off going for somebody else.
3 rookie-priced players starting in the backline, Im not sure if Clarke is at all guaranteed to get games.

Im only picking on the negatives other than that I think its a good team around a 8/10
Title: Re: **1 MAN WOLFPACK 2012*

Very Sound Team with adequate DPP cover from rookies. As you siad NAB form will dictate final rookies.

As has been said time will tell on your strategy.

Being a Brisbane Supporter I am confident with Brownie who has had his first full pre season in 10 yaers and is leading from the front in pre season training as well, (Looks the fittest I have seen him as well and has that look of determination in his eye). Berger I am sure will have a similar if not better season than last year now that he has established himself as No 1 ruck at the Lions. Even though we recruited Hudson can see Hudson playing role of bench only while Berger is resting forward.

Can not really fault any of your prems and if you select right rookies should be well placed at start, 8/10 Would have been higher but discounted slightly because of risk factor in not getting right rookies.

I think its the rookie shiel not the hawthorn shiels.

On the team: very similar to mine in terms of structure. I love it!

Only worry is mabye Too much money into forwards and not enough into mids.

Well done Like this final team

With Round 1 playing status just ensure you retain DPP in mids to both back and forward to give flexibility

Rate 9/10
Title: Re: **1 MAN WOLFPACK 2012*
Post by: Knowall on January 06, 2012, 08:39:54 PM
Yea I give it 9/10 also my only concern is your forward line looking weak having that 4-3 (including Porplyzia) split. Those 4 rookies  2 on the bench and 2 starting in the fwd line may be risky if you dont get enough playing round 1. This could either be easily fixed be swapping your rookie to others or it could be quite difficult and you may need to downgrade elsewhere to fix it up.

I hope that makes sense  :P

yeah it does, i haven't left much room to move, if i try to improve that team on one line, ill have to lose on another, so i'm content with how it is now, thanx for your imput guys, im a third year player and any help is much appreciated, cheers.

Just watch Porps and Lake in pre-season.

If you're planning for the byes, Swan, Selwood and Barlow share the same bye and in rucks Cox, Burger and Giles share the same bye which would leave you a 0 in each of those rounds. Something you may want to think about.

Other than that pretty solid.

Great looking team. Very similar to mine, we have 13 prems the same.

BACKS: Awesome. Really hoping that Lake plays well during NAB cup and lines up for round 1.

MIDS: Perfect.

RUCKS: Good but both Cox and Leuey will both be unavailable during round 11 so maybe Mumford for Leuey? Big Mummy will be unstoppable this season.

FWDS: Really like your first 4, I'm not sold on Porps though.. I can see him being the Chris Knights of last year. I'd downgrade him to a rookie and use that money to upgrade Leuey to Mumford.

Great team 9/10

Reckon most would be pretty set with it.
backline strong - would watch Buckley's use of Swan and Shaw during the NAB as they're both top dollar but have been good points earners. If he changes nothing with them go for it. The Lake issue is also NAB resolved, we all hope, and reguards the rookies (def) they're great and would be surprised if they didn't all start.
midfield very good- no comments ( less earlier on Swan )
Ruck strong but --- another for the NAB will be how the Coasters balance Cox/ Nicnat, eventually Naitanui is gonna increase his workload considerably. Perhaps I could tempt you with a Mumyberger ?
forwards -- not worried about Porp, we're all taking him to cash in. Could be you've got the big four, and will upgrade the rest during the season. It is a very good side but with one exceptionally large downside, " you have just shown it to most of your competitors." It's a 9 out of ten, closer on the 10 side than 9. Cheers and best of luck.

im only going for a league win, so not concerned about ppl knowing my team, but thanks for the reviews. ive looked at it and i can change porpz 2 saad depending on nab performance, leuey to mumford then heppell to broughton or suckling, see how i go cheers  :)

Title: Re: 1 manwolfpack 2012 team

okay the team could look like this if i made the proposed changes

backs:b.goddard, b.deledio, h.shaw, suckling, b.lake, b.ellis, t.mohr. (l.spurr, s.morris)

mids: g.ablett, d.swan, j.selwood, m.barlow, d.shiel, d.zorko. (t.mitchell, j.mcdonald)

rucks: d.cox, s.mumford. (j.giles, o.stephensen)

fwds: l.franklin, m.pavlich, d.martin, j.brown, saad, d.pfeiffer, c.hampton. (t.couch, t.dickson)

and the change from porpz to saad will depend on nab performance, i suppose all the talk bout rooks and mid pricers is just speculation till we see some game time from them. but this is just what my team could be and i'd like your opinions. cheers  :)

have since tried a different team to free up some cash and im bored lol, alot of this squad will depend on nab performances and roles this year.

B: goddard, deledio, broughton, heppell, clarke, mohr, allen. spurr, morris

M: ablett, swan, selwood, barlow, shiel, zorko. mitchell, mcdonald.

R: mumford, leuenberger. giles, stephensen.

F: franklin, pavlich, martin, sidebottom, brown, hampton, pfeiffer. dickson, rowe/couch.

i think this side has a couple of ifs and buts, but i reckon pretty solid if blokes like broughton gets a good role under lyon and heppell steps up and bucks sees something in sidearse that mick didn't. i don't think im particularly weak in any area. thoughts?  cheers.
