Poll
Question:
WHO WILL YOU HAVE OF THE TOP 10 DRAFT PICKS
Option 1: Jonathon Patton
Option 2: Stephen Coniglio
Option 3: Dom Tyson
Option 4: William Hoskin-Elliott
Option 5: Matthew Buntine
Option 6: Chad Wingard
Option 7: Nick Haynes
Option 8: Billy Longer
Option 9: Adam Tomlinson
Option 10: Liam Sumner
Option 11: NONE OF THE ABOVE
OK we know about Patton and we also know a lot of popular rook choices lie outside the top 10 draft picks, but who in the top 10 do you most want or back to perform in DT/
NONE....!
Pattons injured, so he should be out of the equation.
I don't have any of these guys in my team :S
Coniglio is D Swallow of 2011 he will average 80+ I think he's a must have in most good team
I was going to have patton but since he has been injured i wont have any most of the ones that i have researched have only been average. i know alot of people have been looking at coniglio in the NAB Under 18 National Championships he averaged 95.4 and in the WAFL he averaged 76.7 but he will be one that we all have to look out for. The only one that could go very will is Dom Tyson in the NAB Under 18 National Championships he averaged 91.8 and in the TAC cup he averaged 105.3
Yes Patton is injured hence my commence in the post about we know about Patton, I thought to remove him and add some of the top 20 draft picks everyone IS going for but I was interested to see the take up on top 10 picks, whether due to quality or thier place in the draft.
I have added the option NONE OF THE ABOVE.
the real top 10 were picked up by GWS as seventeen year olds last year. Shiels, Miles, Bugg, Giles, Cameron et al.

ou might want to post the full list, I am keen on Cameron and Shiels and Giles of those but there are a few others I think in that list that will get a lot more game time that this years top 10 draft picks.
Only got Tomlinson myself at the moment in the backs, Got Smedts from Geelong in the forwards, Handy little B/F dpp link ;)
Wingard will be the Heppell of 2012, calling it now.
wingard and buntine have the votes except for none of the above...
I must say I check out a lot of teams here and at DT Talk and wingard is in most. A lot more than the similar option Coniglio
Coniglio... Wingard possibly.
Miles for me. Apparently his is a slut.
I went Morrabito over the top prices mid rooks because he will play alot more games.
How long is Patton out?? May be the number1 downgrade target

I liked the look of Miles he had a high average in the NEAFL. This article on their best 22 had me thinking. Have to keep an eye on him

I wouldn't have had Patton anyway. How many points are you going to score as the bottom teams FF.
Now i know Patton is a stronger player than Dixon but look at his average this year. 20 something. I'm not saying that Patton will average 20 but i am thinking mid 50's. Dixon also had the best player in the AFL feeding the ball down his throat (Gazza Ablett)
good point mate, I wouldn't want any FF i think, seems the top draft picks will need to prove a hell of a lot to get into anyones teams by the polls, but the trouble is if they dont start they dont make good downgrade targets because if you later want them its because they are tearing it up and then so is thier price :)
Top 10 draft picks are notoriously frustrating dt scorers I have found
I try to look at the players who slipped a bit to better teams but still have a chance of playing (Fyfe, Curnow, Liberatore, Stephenson are examples)

not sure about this but im a big fan of wingard and going to port should easily be the most likely of the top 10 to play 22 like heppel.
I think he is capable of 75+
but as others have said im looking at cameron, shiel, miles, giles alot cheaper options that will probably be about the same or possibly better, being in the team already for a year.
yeah im looking at blokes like horseley and clifton mohr smedts zorko treloar walch cameron all before the top 10 draft picks,
I mean buntine and coniglio and wingard even hayes and tomlinson look to be stars of the future but at the seriously inflated prices they need to go up between 35k and 75k more than the basic rooks whilst scoring higher along the way to be worthwhile, great if one or more bacame keepers but a risk.
Mitchell could be another worth keeping an eye on.

Indeed Grazz got my eye on him for sure. After his return from injury he got something like 40 possies! For Claremont. Definitely an on baller
Also Wilkes who was KPP for WCE now come Saints. Def yes and plus his ability to move forward and smash out a goal or four!.
Seb Ross too in the Mids ball winner!
James seller come ruck/fwd for the Dee's
Bradley Hill fast litle sucker so much so he landed himself a fine for speeding ha
Clay Smith but dunno how he will fair against Libba Jr in the Mid
Midfielder come foward again in Tory Dickonson
Brandon Ellis for sure..running Def. Good to have on side in your backline.
Witts, but dunno how much TOG he will get with the overflow of rookie folls in Pies this season
Prolly missed a few but ya know lol :)
Yep still alot to pay attention to and work to be done.

$166k not cheap but if he starts round 1 might be one to have, problem with those guys is if they dont become dead set gun keepers and you trade them then you have to wait until they get to just under $300k to get your "moneys worth" out of the trade used.
But if they score higher than a 104k rook you get the score benefit and ultimately make the same profit anyway eventually.
Not many teas i see have these guys coniglio hoskins hayes tomlinson ect ect... but i wonder..
Newman has been mooted for early games on the HFF and later when he gets bigger through the midfield.
Dunno what sort of DT impact he'll have though collwobb.
I've had most of them in my team at some stage but none at the moment. There're so many awesome rook options priced cheaper that its almost not worth it. But if I had to take a guess I'd say Coniglio or Tyson will have the best output this year.
