Title: Phil Davis
Post by: Hawka on December 12, 2011, 09:12:23 PM
M0nty has him real cheap in the fanplanner and if fit i reckon he will play 20+ games
at 160kish do you think he can score enof to be a 7th defender and make a bit of cash?

Basically yeah,  I see value in him, just watch his pre-season form :P

Plenty of upside I reckon, just needs to stay fit

Because he's lightly framed he's showing possible early signs of brittleness and not being able to withstand the tough stuff. Still, at his price, and considering how often the ball will be in GWS's back half, he's shown enough to be watched closely through the pre-season.

He had a shut-down role during his time at Adelaide, but if GWS decide to change his role to a flanker or something he could be a great pick

IMO he will take the best or 2nd best forward but being so cheap he can mke money

Not for me. Better options that are cheaper. Hint look to rookies.

I just wanted to hear a second opinion on this guy, his first game last year he scored a 97 then pulled a 31 in a quater before getting injured and then finaly a 9 in two minutes before he was out for the season. Priced at 200k for a defender shurly rise in price and preaty much cemented for a guaranteed game and shurly rise in price i am suprise that no one else has picked up on this bargin.

Understandably he may be more prone to injury now, but honestly does that mean you are going to stear clear of Porpise or Jack grimes. Also another downside is that you want to stack your team with rookie GWS of course and Phill Davis is another unnecessary one to have in your team. But i think that there will be surficiant rookies from other clubs to cover me if i drop on of the prime GWS rookies from my team

Maybe a bit too expensive. Good prospect and should play the majority of games but I don't know if a KPP at GWS will score too well.

Yeah well his inuries are the main concern. He is also a kpp so that is another factor. He hasnt plyed much and as a kpp and they need plenty of time to develop. Id rather take an ellis or clarke who are cheaper

could be used to as the main rebounder? otherwise they're going to have to give it to someone like buntine, with minimal experience...

If Davis is given the rebounding role who will fill the key positions in the backline? Apparently Cornes is training in the forward line, I'm not too sure they've got any other options.

Tim Mohr to rebound hopefully.

No way GWS would recruit Cornes to play in defence, so he's out of the quesition.

Davis looked great in the Nab Cup the commentators of our game gave him big wraps and rate him, freako thinks he will too much under the pump to be a good fantasy pick in 2012,

what do you think after the nab cup games? I like what i saw personaly.

he's actually in my team atm, the ball is going to be in defense most of the year, and at CHB he will see a lot of it - helps that he's a co-captain too
