Hi Guys,
At the end of the season I usually see a team posted up that would have been the best possible team to pick at the start of the year. Usually this team, had anyone actually picked it, would end up winning the car without needing to burn any trades. I'm wondering if anyone has seen on for 2011. I didn't find anything after a quick search of the BigFooty forums and here. I would be really interested to know what the team was and if it would have won the car. If nothing gets posted then I'll have an attempt at one in a couple of days.
Cheers
i dont think there is a team out there that would not have burned trades to injury
mmmm, normally champion data release it don't they?
If that's the case then it might come out with the AFL Prospectus early next year.
man, I always thought the prospectus was 20 bucks... turns out it's 40... my dreams and hopes are crushed :(

The total is of the non bench players is 46,557 and 48,910 if you assume Pendlebury was captain every week. This doesn't however, take into account the bench players that would come on to contribute when players sat out for the byes and any games they missed. If the 22 field players each missed two games in the year and a bench player came on and scored 50 (this is being conservative) then the total score would be around 51,110. The team would have cost $7,937,300 at the start of the year so almost $300,000 under the salary cap so there's room for flexibility if anyone wants to tweak with it. I haven't checked for multi-bye round clashes so there may be further room for improvement.
And the winner of DT2011 scored 52,899 so the team isn't far off. Considering for the year my captain average was above the average of Swan and that I'd expect a better score than 50 from my bench players if someone could be bothered to work out the total score working in the substitutions for byes and injuries then I think it would beat 52,899.
nill,
i think your team would score just over 55,000 with perfect selections (including captain)
that would be using pendlebury as captain and Boyd as VC or Captain in Pendles' byes
I think it really depends on who you trade and when
At round 1 most of the top 5000 teams are really similar, but it's the trades that make the best of the best ;)
trades and a bit of luck.
i had a week i think rd 12 where i was missing premium midfielders 2 trades got me back to three and that was the end of my season so to speak
