Haha it was the second F which had me a little confused ;)
The Magpies recruiting manager Peter Bell is anxious for the next two picks, feeling both will be crucial additions to the line-up.
Welcome LIAM ANTHONY (#14) and RHYS STANLEY (#28)
Welcome to experienced Premiership Winning and All-Australia duos in NICK MAXWELL and MATTHEW SCARLETT
And Stephen Coniglio joins the party
A talented quartet has purchased plane tickets to South Korean.
Welcome Brent Macaffer, Ben Rutten, Joel Hamling and Murray Newman.
Have a squad of 25 now, starting to feel like a team! Competition will be fierce with only 15 spots available.
Welcome Luke Power, Charlie Dixon and Jed Bews to the Seoul Magpies line-up.
Veteran midfielder Power knows his place in the Best XV is not guaranteed, and is willing to play more of a mentoring role towards the young stars at the Seoul Magpies
And welcome Matthew Warnock, Jeremy Taylor and Brad Dick. Should add another player today :)
And Fletcher Roberts :)
Simpson's Seoul Lies with Magpies
Dawson Simpson, starved of oppurtunities at the succesful Geelong Cats, is looking forward to a big year.
With the retirement of Brad Ottens and the injury to Trent West, Simpson understands that a spot is open on the Cats side. What may be more difficult is breaking into the Seoul line-up.
"I'll take it one week at a time with the Worlds."
"Obviously Ben [McEvoy] and Kreuz [Matthew Kreuzer] are the clear picks, but I hope to be fit to stand in when needed."
Simpson will be joined by a few familiar faces, with Cats team-mates James Kelly, Matthew Scarlett, Joel Hamling and Jed Bews already at Seoul training grounds.
Alex Brown, Cameron Sutcliffe and Alwyn Davey welcomed :)
Squad currently at 38, hoping to add an extra 2 tonight
My squad of 46 know they are competing for 15 spots, and know that there place in the squad still hasn't been finalised
Dawson Simpson injury a blow, but confident McEvoy and Kreuzer can hold the ruck spot
Ossie, you are doing a fine job of running the WXV and the Seoul Magpies, but your jersey is an absolute disgrace!

Oh. Now that you mention it... nah it still sucks.
Have to agree with meow! But it is probably the best design for this team, considering the flag colours and that your magpies
IF my Berlin trades goes through, my Best XV will be:
D: Deledio, Yarran, Gram, Ellis
M: Griffen, Gibbs, Scully, Kelly
R: McEvoy
F: Power, Ballantyne, Dangerfield, Dawes
I: Bolton, Anthony
Emer: Renouf, Macaffer, O'Brien
The team good Ossie. I don't like ballantyne lol
What I said didn't make sense, but I'm the new assistant lol. So now we are unbeatable
damn skippy. We lack some forward options, but I have confidence they'll shine
Do I get a mention as assist or not?
Yus! Will revise now :)
Off to a good start magpies!!
Have to keep the lid on whatlez :)
After all that with all the late-withdrawals, etc, the first XV to ever represent South Korea was:
The First XV - Preseason Friendly Week 1
D: C Yarran, X Ellis, J Taylor, L Thompson
M: B Gibbs (c), R Griffen (vc), T Scully, J Bolton
R: J Hamling
F: P Dangerfield, H Ballantyne, C Dawes, G Burbury
I: N Maxwell, S Coniglio
The Seoul Magpies (14.14.98) defeated Berlin Brewers (11.14.80)

Highest scoring team, yes.

Well highest scoring team is a better achievement ::)
Official Caps have been announced!
Each player will be given a number based on when they debut. Much like Test Cricket players.
The first XV - assuming McEvoy and Steven play - is as follows. Gibbs, the Captain, gets the #1, while the rest are alphabetical.
1. Bryce Gibbs
2. Liam Anthony
3. Hayden Ballantyne
4. Jude Bolton
5. Stephen Coniglio
6. Patrick Dangerfield
7. Chris Dawes
8. Brett Deledio
9. James Kelly
10. Ben McEvoy
11. Harry O'Brien
12. Matthew Scarlett

Hoping to carry on with our round 1 performance, and would be disappointed to lose from here!
Good idea. Do you want me to organise a best and fairest system? Like 5-4-3-2-1 or -3-2-1 or not interested?

Ok, I'll do the score tonight ;D
I'll make the betting odds later on too :D
Betting odds for Best and Fairest pre Round 1 are as followed:
Bryce Gibbs $5
Brett Deledio $7
Jude Bolton $8
James Kelly $8
Patrick Dangefield $10
Ben McEvoy $12
Everyone else over $15
Is there anyone willing to bet?
Don't you mean post round 1 considering round 1 is over?

Don't you mean post round 1 considering round 1 is over?
Nah the odds were posted too late. These were the starting odds before the season, just couldn't get them up until now.
Right.
Three players from last week were charged with Striking. All three represent the Seoul Magpies, and all 3 played in the same Geelong v Fremantle match.
Hayden Ballantyne and Matthew Scarlett look likely to be suspended. James Kelly looks likely to accept a reprimand.
DISCIPLINE is the key-word this week. The Magpies forward line is already depleted, and Ballantyne's absence is a huge blow. Hopefully veteran Luke Power can fill the void this week if Ballantyne accepts the suspension.
Matthew Scarlett, having scored the lowest in the Magpies XV, could find himself in the wilderness even post suspension.
Lol :( our players for some reason decided to fight each other ???
So how will your forward line go :P
The Magpies know they were lucky to come home with the points. Captain Bryce Gibbs knows his leadership is under-question if he continues to play sub-par. But, the Magpies are very happy to be undefeated, and Seoul has embraced this new franchise.
We'd also like to officially welcome the 4 new players that played for the Magpies in Round 2. Congratulations
16. Ryan Griffen
17. Luke Power
18. Ben Rutten
19. Tom Scully
Tom Scully will come under intense scrutiny at the selection table this week, with Jack Steven making a strong claim for his spot.
Important Announcement
The administration of the South Korean Magpies Fantasy Football Club understand the ongoing tensions in the region. As part of the ongoing attempts for peace, it has been decided that the Reserves of the South Koreans will be based in North Korea.
So, we welcome the:
Pyongyang Chollimas
For those wondering, a Chollima is a mystical flying horse:

Welcome to NICK MAXWELL, officially player #20 for the Seoul Magpies
Disappointed in the result this week. All players contributed, just nobody starred. Only 2 centuries, but a low score of only 56.
Os I couldn't be bothered to do the B&F lol. Got more work to do since I'm back at Uni...
Eric Mackenzie was to make his debut for the Magpies against Wellington, but was a late withdrawal. MacKenzie may find it difficult to get in for the rest of the season, with Yarran to push his way into the back 4. James Kelly is also looking to return soon.
Jason Gram however did debut, and becomes player #21 for the Pies.
BRENT RENOUF confirmed as the Seoul Magpies ruckman for Round 6.
With #1 Ruck Ben McEvoy out for 6 weeks, Renouf has a lot of pressure to perform.
Renouf will be player #22 for the Seoul Magpies

That's hard to understand... :S
Xavier Ellis, struggling to have played a match this year, has strained his medial ligament. Disappointing for Ellis, with him expected to play a big part in Seoul Magpies 2012 season.
Ellis joins long-term injury suffers Brent Macaffer, Lachlan Keeffe and Dawson Simpson. While Ben McEvoy, Rhys Stanley and Stephen Coniglio are still on the sidelines.
An unconvincing victory for the Seoul Magpies, edging out New York on the final day. Only 3 players stood tall this week - Matt Scarlett, Jude Bolton and Jason Gram - not particularly likely subjects, and these 3 veterans justified there selections today. Scarlett in particular after a poor score and a resulting suspension in round 1, averaged 100 in the reserves, forcing his way into the team, and being best on ground.
Brett Deledio, Ryan Griffen and Patrick Dangerfield were all well below there best. Perhaps they were nervous about being part of the inaugural EurAsia v AAP Alliance match. I have no doubt they will represent Seoul with pride.
Seoul now sit in 8th spot, one of 6 teams tied on 6 wins, 5 losses. Coming up next after the breal are the Pacific Islanders, who are struggling with form as there captain Chris Judd is well below his best. Good news, is that #1 ruck Ben McEvoy should be fit and available for selection.
Seoul are very happy with 3 wins a row, and look to push for the 4 with a strong performance over Buenos Aires. #1 ruck Ben McEvoy is reaching prime form, but injuries to Luke Power and Rhys Stanley have depleted our forward line.
Also note that the administration of SMFFC do not support the recent decision by South Korea to start hunting whales!
Also like to add that it is official, a 4 way alliance with:
Nottingham Hoods
Russian Roulettes
Turkey
S-No-R-T
I prefer the acronym Ru-N-T-S ;)
The Seoul Magpies coach is FURIOUS at the performance of the leadership group, while acknowledging the terrific performance of James Kelly and Chris Yarran, the Magpies 3 stars - Brett Deledio, Ryan Griffen and Patrick Dangerfield - all went missing on the weekend, costing the side a crucial win, and most of the team was well under par.
Adding to the frustration, Jack Steven - having a breakout year, playing regular senior football and winning the Vic Country medal - will be suspended after driving drunk for a week. Leaving the door open for either Tom Scully or Stephen Coniglio to return.
The dressing rooms of the Seoul Magpies are silent. Seoul Magpie coach ossie85 looks around the room, the players aren't making eye contact.
Also in the room are the friends and family, those who attended Seoul's crucial home game tonight. Everybody is devastated. They know the road is tough to the finals now. Veterans Luke Power and Jason Gram especially devastated, having below par matches in a team that performed at every level. Toronto were outstanding.
ossie85 Addresses the crowd.
"I wanted everyone's friends and family to be in here to hear this, gentlemen. I have never been more proud of a team than I am right now. I am in awe of each and every one of you gentlemen."
The players lift there heads. They know this was there best score of the year. The coach continues.
"You played great football tonight. This is the game that people are gonna talk about for years to come. This is the game you are gonna talk about. There's not a single person in this room that's ever gonna be the same. You be proud of yourselves. Because gentlemen, you are champions."
The players cheer.
"We will all at some time in our lives, fall. Life is so very fragile, we are all vulnerable, and we will all at some point in our lives, fall, we will all fall. We must carry this in our hearts, that what we have is special, that it can be taken from us, and that when it is taken from us, we will be tested. We will be tested to our very souls. We will all be tested. It is these times, it is this pain, that allows us to look inside ourselves."

Nope, go over to Beijing
Noting Xavier Ellis is playing his first game of the year... Cheers Xavier, had you in as being a big part of the season! Well, he gets to put on the Guernsey for Pyongyang in the qualifying final

Seoul Magpies Best and Fairest
Low key performance from the Seoul Magpies, with the club deciding that given they just missed the finals, they would acknowledge but not celebrate the club's achievements.
In every match, each player was rated out of 10. The total from those 17 matches (meaning 170 votes available) has been deemed the winner of the Seoul Magpies best and fairest.
1. Brett Deledio, 146 votes from 17 matches.
The Superstar of the Seoul Magpies. All-Worlds Selection, EurAsia Vice-Captain, 9 teams of the year, captained the team 12 times. A deserving win.
2. Patrick Dangerfield, 145 votes from 17 matches.
Was surprisingly close to Deledio this year, and himself had a break-out year with All-Worlds selection and EurAsia selection. Will be a superstar for years to come, and was a thrilling count.
3. Ryan Griffen, 117 votes from 16 matches.
Inconsistency cost him, but led the midfield very well for most of the year. Played for EurAsia, and was the Magpies top vote getting in the Jim Stynes medal with 10 votes, and captain Seoul for one week.
3. Jude Bolton, 117 votes from 17 matches.
A late draft pick, Jude was the surprise packet having one of his best AFL seasons.
5. Bryce Gibbs, 112 votes from 17 matches.
Captained the side for 4 matches, but many expected more from Gibbs this year as the club's #1 selection. Likely will have a change of position next year.
6. Luke Power, 108 votes from 15 matches.
Another surprising effort from a late selected veteran and was very solid in the forward line, and Seoul would welcome him back next year if he chooses to play on.
7. James Kelly, 102 votes from 14 matches.
Designed as a level head to bring consistency throughout the year, Kelly did just that.
8. Jason Gram, 89 votes from 13 matches.
Took him a while to debut, but once he was in the side became a staple in defense.
9. Ben McEvoy, 86 votes from 11 matches.
Would likely have been much higher had he not missed 6 matches through injury, Ben McEvoy will lead Seoul's ruck for years.
10. Jack Steven, 85 votes from 13 matches.
Very happy with the development of young Jack Steven.
11. Hayden Ballantyne, 84 votes from 14 matches.
Needs to work on his consistency, but is working hard.
12. Tom Scully, 73 votes from 12 matches.
I expect more from Tom Scully, and spend the last couple of rounds in the reserves as others simply overtook him.
13. Liam Anthony, 68 votes from 10 matches.
You get the feeling he is a good game from breaking out, and a bad game from being dropped.
14. Harry O'Brien, 65 votes from 10 matches
Another player that needs to work on his consistency, as his bright start faded.
15. Chris Yarran, 63 votes from 11 matches
Injury stiffled his output and development, expect a lot next year.
16. Matthew Scarlett, 43 votes from 7 matches
Started the year poor, but forced his way into the seniors with strong performances.
17. Alwyn Davey, 41 votes from 8 matches
Would need him to work hard, but answered the call when the forward line needed him.
17. Brent Renouf, 41 votes from 6 matches
Filled in for Ben McEvoy midway through the year with some strong performances.
19. Nick Maxwell, 38 votes from 6 matches
Provided strong depth but was in-and-out of the team.
19. Chris Dawes, 38 votes from 7 matches
Expected more, and was thought as a starting 4 prospect at the start of the year.
21. Rhys Stanley, 32 votes from 6 matches
Injury stifled him just as he found a place in the XV.
22. Eric MacKenzie, 17 votes from 3 matches
Failed to capitalize on his opportunities was a good depth player.
23. Stephen Coniglio, 14 votes from 3 matches
Earnt himself a rising star nominee with stiff midfield competition, but injury stopped his run.
24. Charlie Dixon, 5 votes from 1 match.
Strong late season form saw him make his debut in the last round of the year.
25. Ben Rutten, 3 votes from 1 match
The veteran looked out of sorts for most of the year in this format.

Also, thank you MATTHEW SCARLETT for your year representing the Seoul Magpies, and for helping the young defenders develop. Wish you well post football career!

The Seoul Magpies would like to thank Ryan Griffen, Jack Steven, Brent Renouf and Ben Rutten for there services to the club. Ryan Griffen in particular, 3rd in our best and fairests, and rising superstar Jack Steven were the hardest to let go.
We welcome in return defender Paul Duffied, forwards Josh Kennedy and Brett Ebert, and young guns Liam Patrick, Seb Ross and Jay Lever.
Thank you Harry O'Brien for your service to the club, and we hope Shannon Byrnes can revitalise his career at the Seoul Magpies. A risky prospect, but with the announcement of the retirement of forward Luke Power, forward line depth is key.
So thank you Harry

You're welcome ossie. Love how they turned out.
Much better than the original. :P
Looks like Jude Bolton's last game today :(
Scarlett, Power and Bolton are big losses for the Magpies, starting to get nervous...

What's that I hear?
It's the sound of a wooden spoon...
...on its way to the Seoul Magpies. :P
lol, no doubt it does test me a bit!
Danger, Lids, Gibbs, McEvoy will see me through. Maybe this time I'll score in the bottom 4 and make the finals, rather than the other way around next year!
