Title: Scott Gumbleton ????????????????????
Post by: nostradamus on November 10, 2011, 12:01:52 AM
l dont expect many posistive responses, but here goes

Was a very high draft pick (5 l think), and is highly rated at Windy Hill

He hasnt had an injury free run since he started his AFL career, but Essendon have pinched Geelong's conditioning/fitness coach

.....if he has injury free pre-season and plays well in the NAB cup, will antbody be considering him??????????????

Tell me what you think, good or bad

He didn't even get a single game this year. He was playing VFL so im not so sure they rate him highly as he wasn't injured for a large chunk of the year

Because of his history of inconsistent form and multiple injuries, he could not be considered with any degree of confidence no matter how cheap he may be.  A resounding no!

Not completely true. He was injured on and off all year & at times played injured... When he did get fit he wasn't in great form so I can understand why he didn't get a go in the seniors. I wouldn't pick him though. May as well go with a rookie who won't be injured every 2nd match.

He hasn't got a chance in my team sadly. He needs to prove he can stay injury free.

He is an out and out spud, Simple as that. Even if fit blah blah blah he has a ceiling of about 50.

Yeah at that price I'd rather take a risk on someone like Morabito or (if rookie listed) Fevola. long shot to make my team

Biggest waste of a number 2 draft pick in history, could've had Joel Selwood, Jack Riewoldt, Chris Dawes, Tom Hawkins, and more FFS

Hey he must be a spud when there was talk of him getting traded to port during trade week. I would only consider if he tears up NAB cup, injury free come round one and rookie priced, and then still he would be 2nd bench

Gumbleton is in the same category as grimes and higgins for me, no way in hell. made of matchsticks and the like

Guys, he was only recently in for back surgery (again) after slipping a disk in the gym, he wont have a pre season behind him (again). I am a Bombers fan and as much as i want to believe he will add something, i had written him off long ago. All he is doing is clogging up the list and if he doesn't pull off a miracle this year, it will be his last at an AFL club. Nothing more than an enigma i'm afraid.
