Upgrading was a huge pain in the butt last time, I don't want to spend all that time without a specific need in mind.

did you have problems with it ?
I had some custom code that didn't port across, plus the upgrade wasn't as simple as pressing a button, I had to manually amend the database tables to fit the new templates. It was very annoying.

damn that sucks, i haven't had to much trouble when updating mine but it does take a little bit of time.
