I think Fyfe is a real chance. super consistant think he will definately break 15 at the very least.
But really i think juddy will win it, has had 2 quiet games but round 21 he will get 3 votes and probably another seven 3 vote games.
I think it will be a lot closer than expected though, Goodesy will come home with the thunders the last 6 weeks.
In order - Judd + Murphy - Mitchell*- Goodes - Boyd - Swan - Pendlebury - Moloney* - GAJ - Thompson
Suggest winner will come from top 4 teams who won 17 or more games gathering lots of votes. Pendles is my tip. We may be overexpecting Judd to get votes based on last years win.
Judd.
will be close between judd and goodes, i put a sneaky 20 on goodes to win at $14 last week. murphy may steal votes off judd whereas everygame sydney one, goodes was clinical.
top 4
goodes, judd, pendles, boyd

every game sydney 'won'...
Also its more like Judd stealing votes off murphy because Murphy has been very underrated this year and should go close to winning be it not for the umps jizzing over Judd all the time.
Goodes Pendles Judd If form in SC and DT relates to 3 Brownlow votes Goodes was BOG in 7 games. A nice start if it translates but we know umpires see things differently
Judd, Thompson will surprise, but won't win.
Goodes the danger tho
I think Ablett Is very underrated in brownlow terms. The brownlow medal goes to the best player on the ground not the best player in the winning team. We have never really seen someone dominate evey week in a team that gets the spoon so it will be interesting to see how he goes. even if he dosent poll the 3 vote he still get 2 votes two put of three weeks.
The days of someone winning from a bottom 4 team are gone, the three votes almost always goes to the winning team.
The last one I remember was Paul Kelly in 1995, Sydney finished 12th.
i think scott pendlebury is nearly a sure thing, at $7.00 he is extrodinary value didn't miss a game and the pies only 2 losses for the year, i rate him about $3.00
who agrees??

Yep i $500 agree @ 8/1 on IASbet
Pendlebury won't even poll the most votes for Collingwood, let alone the whole competition.
the quinella bet on TAB had judd-pendlebury at $6.5 on monday night and is now down to $4.5
reckon its worth chucking a $50 on?
Goodes will probably finish 2nd, so nope.

Yea that's fair odds even at 4.5, but there also seems to be some1 that pops up out of nowhere that finishes in the top 5 so it's very very risky but it's only $50.
Is Rockliff a aotside chance ?
Outside
I have had my own brownlow all year.
This is how I see it.

Chris Judd, Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury- 26

No from me, have him on 8 votes.
Cox never polls when he should. I don't see why the umps would suddenly change their minds when it comes to the big bloke.

Who did you give the 3 to in round 1 Carl vs Rich game? Most people have it Judd 3, Murphy 2, Gibbs 1 with Riewoldt 4th. I would have had those 3 in reverse order.

meow if you think cox wont poll well, than get on priddis for top 3 at about $17 thats got to be a good bet. if cox doesnt get the votes they have to go somewhere (kerr/embley may grab a few)

Usman, and I helped out a little bit, is running the brownlow predictions alll year with votes every round and the final prediction...Come have a look at our predictions and if you've been doing a brownlow count yourself feel free to list your predictions in this forum as well, this way we can have many different opinions of voting systems used.

my brownlow calculations -
Mitchell - 28 (ineligible)
Boyd - 27
Pendlebury - 27
Goodes - 27
Judd - 27
Swan - 26
M.Murphy - 26
O'Hailpin for sure! :P but i don't have any idea who will win it, there are a few players who could end up with it
i also had my own scoring system!
Brownlow = nicky dal santo 26
2nd = judd and goodes 25
3rd = SThompson, MMurphy and pendles 24
so go get all ur money and put it on dal santo trust me, if u lose i will refund all ur money...
judd>>>>goodes>pendles>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everyone else
Here are the results of the top 10 for my brownlow count
Brownlow - Scott Pendlebury - 27
2nd - Marc Murphy & Matthew Boyd - 26
4th - Chris Judd - 25
5th - Adam Goodes - 24
6th - Sam Mitchell - 23
7th - Dane Swan - 21
8th - Dean Cox & Nick Dal Santo - 20
10th - Brent Moloney, Scott Thompson, Lance Franklin & Matthew Priddis - 19
if you count the votes throughout the season yourself, at the end of the year you always have to +3 to Judd to make the accurate. as we saw last year he pulls vote out of his ass
Thoughts on James Kelly???? Paying 126 for the place n 501 for the win..... I reckon he will place
i reckon you are kidding yourself schezza! bets like that are the reason the TAB make so much money
Going to be a hotly contested one this year! :o
Charlie will go to a midfielder again this year, but I really hate that it always one who wins.
And, although there wasn't someone able to do it this year I think that in the modern game if a full forward kicks 100 goals they have to go close to winning the medal.
The feat has only been achieved twice in the last 15 years (Buddy in 2008 and Lockett in 1998). Buddy came sixth although he was ineligible due to suspension) and Lockett 12th.
No ruckman have really come close - Sandilands is the best in recent times.
Cox, Goldstein and Mumford have had great years this season, but none of them is likely to close to winning the medal (Cox might be top 5 if lucky).
And, what about key defenders? Darren Glass is the All-Australian fullback, but will he poll many votes - no.
There needs to be a new system of voting in my opinion to make things a bit fairer to all players.
The reason the umpires choose midfielders more often than not is because they are the players they can see best. I bet the umps never look to see how many times the ruckmen tap it to advantage because they are too busy looking for free kicks among the mids/taggers.
After the game when they think about the match they will be thinking about the players who were running around under their noses all game, not the key defender who shut down the oppositions best forward or the forward who kicked four crucial goals, but didn't touch the ball much for the rest of the match.
Perhaps a voting panel which decides the votes for each game after every round. From people who aren't umpiring the game.
Or if you want to stick with the umpires doing the votes don't just get the umpires who officiated the game's opinion. Have another 3-6 umpires involved in the process - ones that watched the game not officiated in it.
That way the field umps can say who they thought was good and the others can mention anyone they might have missed.
For the next couple of days, people who are interested in chatting with other passionate followers of the brownlow about opinions/ideas/betting advice/personal counts should all hop onto the following fanfooty chat between 8pm-10pm (melbourne time) or even during the day between wednesday 21st septmeber to brownlow night. this way all people can interact and have all their questions asked.

there are lots of different medals and awards given by lots of different people,,i.e. (commentators, players, coaches) and generally its midfielders that win them aswell. so its not just the umpires that recognise these players..
also i guess its a numbers thing, there are more midfielders than key forwards or backs so mids will win more often.
shutdown players should be given more votes, but i guess its not attractive footy. Ling's weekly tag has more impact on a game than almost anyhing else, but he will never get a vote for it and not just in brownlow.
i think teams B&F is a much fairer guide to a players ability

What you're saying about the shutdown players is exactly the problem. A key defender that negates an in-form Buddy Franklin or Travis Cloke has played just as crucial a role in a team winning than someone who has touched the ball 30 times. But the umpires are less likely to remember this when voting, the players in their mind are the ones getting lots of the votes.
Which is why there should be a different system of voting
What would happen if three Hawthorn players completely shut out Swan, Pendles and Thomas this week and the Hawks win. Would you give the votes to someone like Buddy or Mitchell if they get 3-4 goals and 30 odd possessions respectively, or to the shut-down players?
The players that shut out the Collingwood guns would be much more deserving IMO as they are the ones who have won the game for the Hawks.
Quite often stopping an opposing team's best player is crucial to winning a match, yet it is not rewarded with votes.
Another example perhaps could be Gibson's recent effort with 27 spoils. I doubt if that was a game where votes were awarded that he would get 3 votes, probably not even any votes, even though it was his good work which kept the Hawks in the game.
Goodes slightly overhyped i think personally max that he will poll is 23 and thats not good enough compared to the years that Judd (27), Pendles(25), Murphy (24) and Swan(24) have had it should be in that order with Goodes tying for 5th with Ablett on 21 Very high polling count at the top this year.
I am good friends with the other person who voted Marc Murphy. (well, i need to know who it is first)
I say Murph 1
GAJ 2
Judd and NDS 3
don't count James Kelly from the cats out
but i think it will be a draw - JUDD + PENDLES
I reckon Ablett is a chance I'm picking him as my roughie

Well, i change my mind actually, can't change my vote though.
1: Mitchell
2: Murphy
3: Goodes
4: Ablett
5: NDS
6: Judd
I feel that the umps will over-correct when giving out votes to Judd, they'll expect more from him thus i see Murphy getting him.
Murphy off to 6 votes and I think Judd has none. Is that good for my trio Murphy - Judd - Pendles?
swanny ftw!
SWANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
I think Mitchell should be relieved he missed that game and didn't play well on the last game.Because it would have sucked to win only to be ineligible.
It would suck even more if you did a prediction thread and were so far off base with the winner, or even their predicted winners, because that is pretty hilarious.
Get caught up in the media hype much? LOL

Cant help but think that this was based at me :( if you read into the thread you will notice my new system had Swan winning on 28 tie with fail murphy followed by mitchell on 26 and pendles on 25 with judd on 23 and goodes on 19 so it was fairly close i would have thought. Dont think it got sucked into the hype of goodes and judd to much ;) unfortuanetely i bet on Swan-murphy-pendles trifecta which didnt pay off.
