Poll
Question:
Where do you think Chad Cornes should be next year?
Option 1: The AFL
votes: 4
Option 2: The SANFL
votes: 5
Option 3: No where (retired)
votes: 6
YAY!!! He's named at full forward. Maybe we can be competitive now.
You have got to be kidding?
Only playing him because the fans won't stop whinging.
He's a gun, and the fans are always right. He brings a 4qtr effort.

All that you wrote above is very debatable. And I am a Port supporter who has been to every home game since 1999.
But each to their own.
Dont get me wrong, was an absolute gun when he was a backman.
But why would you play him when your team sucks? You should be rebuilding :P
One step closer to an extra 70k Chad, go you good thang - suck 'em dry >:(

Another reason why Chad shouldn't be played
I think he played quite well yesterday.
A little bit lighter in the pocket for his trouble, $900 to be exact, for wrestling ::)
Chad Cornes is the greatest port adelaide player of all time in my opinion he can second for the brownlow in 2004 and is 21 games away from being the game record holder and when everyone though it was over for him he came up against melbourne as a multiple goal scorer and was the best on ground for port only being outplayed by martin and petterd

I could not agree more. Chad Cornes is the second best player in the club's AFL history, only Warren T. was better.
Strong word I'm hearing is that he will play his last game against Collingwood in a testimonial style match, or rather he is being told that is what the club wants ;)

Oh f***. He won a brownlow too (at essendon). Tredrea 1, Wnaga 2, Cornes 3. I believe he's a better player player than Paxman, Nick Stevens, Darren Mead, Matty Primus (possibly explian's why Primus hates him), and my favourite player, 2 time premiership winner, kicked 60m off 1 step, current assisant coach at the Swans, Stuart Dew.
Watching Chad Cornes today trying to pump the crowd today after a Power goal was like giving mouth to mouth to a cadaver, pointless.
Chad you have been a true champion of the game and instilled tremendous spirit in your comrades but you do have to know when to let go, and Chad, it is time to let go.
At least he wanted to be playing, some of our side were like ... Melbourne.
Injury set back looks like delaying any sort of 'farewell' match for The Chad.

Just saw before on a news headlines grab :'(
*goes to look for a link, BBS....
Be quick! "Can of Worms" is starting now.
I'm watching Amazing Race finale.
Ok, so the cheeky news grab made you think Cornes was injured by stating 'injury set back stalls Cornes farewell match' but in fact they were referring to Schulz's injury likely to keep him out for the season, thus Cornes will take Schulz role till end of year and NOT have his finale match v Collingwood.

Yeah, i had a feeling that's what it would be. Really unfortunate for Schulz.

Goodbye Chad Cornes. Port Adelaide faithful.
he should go to GWS
not even joking :P IMO, he's good for another one or two years, and his skills etc. could prove invaluable at a fledgling club.
He has years in him. Just stay at Glenelg and get them to multiple Grand Finals, coz Centrals will keep winning!
I hear he may even take on a Nathan Thompson style of role with Beyond Blue to help raise awareness for men's depression.
Contrary to the image of arrogance he seems to display on field he is quite the opposite in real life. Chad has again revealed tonight his massive self doubt issues that he has, not only about football performance but about life in general. He is quite the private character and found it dificult to step out of the shadow of his father's legacy.
This weekend the floor is all yours Chad. Walk tall, hit hard and go out with your head held high as you are one reason I pay to go and watch football, you bring it everytime champion!
*Normally I don't support violence of any kind, but if Daisy Thomas' face happens to get in the way of your fist I don't think the MRP can really do too much can they ;)
I like the Daisy comment McRoost :D
Poll just added for Chad next season.
Cornesy has been an inspiring player In Port and one of, if not the greatest player in Port Adelaide history. I always knew Chad would retire before even thinking of leaving the greatest club of all time (unlike others cough cough Shaun Burgoyne). Chad served Port well and deserves to retire in peace. Now we need to focus on the future. Players like Gray, Westhoff, Pittard and Lobbe and hope their atleast half the player Chad Cornes was.

Tredders & Wangas may disagree with you there.

I thought the same thing, Cornes was the greatest. I believe both Tredrea and Wangas were better than Cornes, but Cornes beats Wangas as a better Port player (Gavin won his brownlow with essendon), and he beats both with his commitment and attitude.
This is no BS - the Adelaide paper 'The Advertiser' will be available for sale at AAMI Stadium tomorrow in a limited edition release published as 'The Chadvertiser' as a farewell compliment to the retiring champion ::)

The paper is only available at the ground - I may be able to get you a copy naste but I'd rather have root canal than attend AAMI for a Port v Eddie match :P
Soz ol' mate, I'll put out the feelers though ;)
I'm stuck on whether to go or not? The weather, the match live on my 55" TV, and the thought of watching a slaughter vs the pride of barracking for Port and my early week prediction. It is very tight.

All good mate, Roosters (much like Collingwood supporters) don't actually have teeth ;)
Go Chad, you have drunk from the Cup of Glory...

Just got a call from my bro in law, he's in town with a bunch of mates from the West Coast and has a spare ticket in a corporate box - I have renegged on my earlier call that I'm not going, free beer did the trick ;D
Root canal will have to wait.
Go Powe...Go Pow...Go Po....Go P....I just can't say it out loud - Go Pies! - that's better ;)
Most in the box will be Port but the guy with the hosting right to the box is Collingwood.
I'll take the Sony Cyber-shot for some pics - could be messy, on and off the field :P
Well now you can get me the paper & don't go Camping with it as could run out of whatsits. Lol or need to start the BBQ.

Aren't both of you meant to have logged off until 2012?

I was told by ground staff that it would only be available after the match and by the time we filtered out of the box they were all packed up, sorry naste I feel I've let you down :-[
22 thousand didn't let Chad down though and rocked up to show their support for a true Champion of the game. It was the 22 on field for Port that let him down in one of the most one sided shellackings I've seen (given the conditions).
Swan is a savante, he just knows where to run before the ball gets there, he is a complete master reader of the game. That's why you can't tag him because the tagger will always try to stop him where he is at, not where he is going to be and that's how he does so much damage by being there before the ball gets there. You cannot predict/pre meditate a zone or tag against that, you can't. Truly brilliant to watch in the raw 8)
