Ok here is my team at full strength just going for league win with 12 trades and 203,100 in the bank
Back: fisher delidio goddard enright newman gibbs heppel___lower buckley puopolo
Mid: swan pendles Jelwood s.thompson cotchin harris___iles jacobs prestia
Ruck: sandi cox___smith bailey
Forward: pav n.roo j.roo rioli goodes yarran mzungu___lynch mckernan richo
As u can see i have pendles swan and selwood riding the pine which is a problem as i have a big league game this week also mckernan and lynch are failing me in the forwards and looking to turn one of them into dids???
I really need some help as to what trades to make and when
Thanks
This week
Selwood to Ablett/Boyd
Then if you like a risk Sandi to Tippett or other rookie ruck. With Renouif Injury Bailey looks like getting games. Would give you $420k additional cash. I anticipate that when Sandi comes back his price will fall for a couple of weeks and Smiths will keep rising so maybe just a sideways trade.
Next week Lynch/Mckernan to Sylvia
Prestia to Ablett/Boyd or Lower to Shaw
Leaves you 8 trades (one of which you may use to trade Sandi back in if desired)and a solid team .
This week also use your MPP to ensure no donuts.
Yer all my 0's are covered this week.
The sandi trade is risky but could pay off handsomely i just dont feel i need to take that big risk as i am well positioned in all my leagues
I know it is a risk - I took it a few weeks ago when Smith started churningout large scores to get rid of deadwood on bench and upgrade a few players. Am hoping that I can trade Sandi back in as a swap with Smith or with minimal cash outlay. (have kept 100k in reserve for this in case) Smith is currently $396k with a B/e of 67 so price rise possible again this week and Sandi will fall for the first 2 weeks as his B/e when returning is 164.
I basiacally considered it as cashing in bench value to improve team
mate if you have heldo onto sandi for this long and he should be back in a couple of weeks it makes little sense to trade him, it would be a waste to trade out sandi now only to bring him back in! use smith for cash after WCE and dockers byes imo for cash for finals.
mate this week is going to be a pickle for many sides so don't over panic, don't make silly trades!
i'd say its a little bit tough for you, you really need a bit of a plan for your next 6 or so trades mate, kinda sucks that some of your rookies in your mid and forward line haven't really maxed out enough. your forward line bench is very weak, but i'd expect cam richardson to appear again (esp if injuries occur), apparently he hasn't been playing too badly in the 2s. issac smith from hawks is every chance of getting named this week with clinton young straining his hamstring. he is 103k mid/forward mpp. he has already played 2 games with an average of 79. but i'm not sure who you would look to trade him out for, top of my head i don't know many of your rookie's current prices. i guess you need to let us know if you want to trade out Jelwood or not? missing next 4 weeks and 2nd round of finals, so missing 5 games definately out of next 12 rounds! i started boyd and if i didn't have him i'd be all over him like a bloody fat kid with a cupcake this week at his price- straight swap for selwood has alot of merrit if thats the path you want to take, unless you downgrade lower for strauss (who is probably the best rookie left) and upgrade someone on your mid bench or harris for boyd and deal with jelwood next week or if you want to keep him i don't know. but if you want league win only just sit jelwood on your bench pendles and swan back next week. i'd be looking to find a way to make mzungu your bench cover for your midfield and forward line with prestia link up and upgrade the other rookies if you can! hope that makes sense cos i've just realised i've wrote alot!!!
Take a breath, Torress! That's one solid slab of text :)
Totally agree with you about Sandi, although the rumours about Zac Smith being out may force a few hands...

Wow thanks. I believe trading jelwood has to be done, will most likely trade him for boyd. Bit stuck on wot to do next tho. FYI im just going for league win
For those thinking i have 2 threads on this sorry...this is because i had one in players and trades, now prospector has moved the one in the players and trades section to this section so for any further advice please post here: http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,38571.0.html
Personally, I would do this, but it means you lose your MP
fisher, delidio, goddard, enright, newman, gibbs, lower <jacobs, buckley, puopolo>
boyd, ablett, S. Thompson, Cotchin, Harris, Iles <Swan, Pendles, Prestia (E)>
sandi, cox <smith bailey>
pav, n.roo, j.roo, rioli, goodes, yarran, mzungu,___lynch mckernan richo
Jelwood > Ablett
Heppel > Boyd
then
Lynch/Mckernan > Callinan
Harris > Sylvia
Thanks for the advice
I would like to keep the def/mid mpp so could I do this?
This week:
Lynch/mckernan-->smith/howe/callinan
Harris-->priddis
Next:
Jelwood-->boyd
Iles-->didak
This keeps the mpp link and leaves me with more $$$
Thoughts?
Thanks
Yeh something like that is good. within the context of leagues, would try fit in ablett seeing he has no byes left. Harris still has a BE of 70 which isn't too bad, so maybe trade out selwood first. I would forgot about Boyd for now, and get another 2 premiums in your forward line.
maybe
Lynch/Mckernan > Smith
Selwood > Abeltt
then
Harris > Sylvia
Yarran > Franklin/Boomer.
so your team should look like this in 2 rounds
fisher, delidio, goddard, enright, newman, gibbs, lower <jacobs, buckley, puopolo>
Swan, Pendlebury, ablett, S. Thompson, Cotchin, Mzungu <Jacobs, Iles, Prestia (E)>
sandi, cox <smith bailey>
pav, n.roo, j.roo, rioli, goodes, franklin/boomer, sylvia <Smith, mckernan, richo>
Ok so i would still need 1 more mid upgrade correct?
the last one one you can cash in on Smith at some stage to finsih off your mids.
I think you should set up the forwards after you get ablett. it looks a bit weak, with richo/mckernan/lynch as bench options.
So here are my trade options please give advice as to which one
1. This week
Lynch & selwood-->i.smith/howe & ablett
Next week
Harris & iles-->priddis & didak
2. This week
Lynch & selwood-->callinan & ablett
Next week
Harris & iles-->boyd & didak
3. this week
Lynch/Mckernan > Smith
Selwood > Abeltt
Next week
Harris > Sylvia
Yarran > Franklin/Boomer.
(option 3 would leave me with 8 trades and still need 2 more trades (downgrade and upgrade) to finish my team
Thanks
Last week i went selwood&lynch-->boyd&i.smith
My team now looks like this with $317,600 and 10 trades sitting undefeated in my league.
Fisher deledio goddard enright newman gibbs heppel
Lower buckley puopolo
Swan pendles boyd s.thompson cotchin mzungu
Harris iles jacobs
Sandi cox
Smith bailey
Pav goodes n roo jroo cyril yarran i.smith
Mckernan prestia richo
Wot trades should be on the cards this week???
Harris to Ablett would be good but takes most of your cash and will give you a cracker jack midfield. 9 trades then to bring in one more prem back and a prem forward with downgrades/upgrades.
Love it but i am concerned about number of trades...i would like 6 for finals so would like to "finish" my team with these 2 trades.
Does this sound better: harris & heppel-->bob murphy & priddis???
Getting bob murphy opens up a def-fwd mpp link as i hav mckernan in forwards. This leaves me with a very solid backs and mids would have mzungu as F7 but i dont see that as a problem???
Thoughts??
Looks good - Would you have enough cash left to upgrade Prestia to Didak to give additional F7/8 if he continues his form improvement as we know what he is capable of in second half of year.

Fall 40k short im afraid...iles-->didak could be done?!?!?
That will work well allowing you to switch Didak between mids and forwards if he is scoring well to cover future byes. Both will possibly rise the same amount this week as well so hopefully you can do next week

Leaving me with 7 trades and a complete team!!
Sounds great to me!
So this week: heppel & harris-->priddis & murphy
Next week: iles-->dids
Anyone hav any objections???
Im now reconsidering...im thinking of doing:
This week
Lower&harris-->murphy&sylvia
Then when callinan is on the bubble:
Prestia & iles-->callinan&priddis
Leavin me with 6 trades
Thoughts
Last week i went heppel to bob murphy (mpp with mckernan) and harris to sylvia leaving me with this team:
8 trades and $147,100 and still undefeated in my league
Fisher goddard enright newman gibbs deledio murphy__lower puopolo buckley
Swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin mzungu__prestia jacobs iles
Sandi cox__smith bailey
Pav n.roo j.roo cyril goodes sylvia yarran__mckernan i.smith c.richo
Should i trade sandi???
Just letting u know when iles has reached his ceiling he will be gone for moloney/priddis.
In your position being undefeated I would run the risk of not trading Sandi until we know for sure how many weeks he is out. If the rumoured 4 is correct then you would only be looking at 3 games because of Freo's bye. It would mean playing both Smith and Bailey this week which may result in your first defeat but I am sure you can cope with that. It also allows you to keep 8 trades and have the strongest ruck comb going into finals.
Yeh will keep sandi...first defeat wont come this week have a very easy game wot timing :D
Think ill just hold tight with my trades until iles reached his ceiling...fingers crossed i can afford priddis :)
With Bailey as cover you may be able to also downgrade Smith after Hawks bye if you do not have enough for Isles to Priddis.
I think seeing you are in such a strong position you may as well hold Sandi, as he will be a good pod come finals time
my team is now:
Fisher goddard enright newman gibbs deledio murphy__lower puopolo buckley
Swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin mzungu__prestia jacobs iles
Sandi cox__smith bailey
Pav n.roo j.roo cyril goodes sylvia yarran__mckernan i.smith c.richo
this week i am considering jroo-->talia and next week iles-->GAJ
thoughts???
Last week i went smith-->lobbe leaving me with 7 trades and $330,000.
So my team is:
Fisher goddard enright newman gibbs deledio murphy__lower puopolo buckley
Swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin mzungu__prestia jacobs iles
Sandi cox__smith bailey
Pav n.roo j.roo cyril goodes sylvia yarran__mckernan i.smith c.richo
Thoughts??!
Trades I would consider but up to you
Iles > Priddis
J Roo > ROK or Fyfe (following on from your suggested trades).
Leaves you 5 trades and around $28k so look for downgrades prior to finals.
ok priddis trade sounds great
But jroo is interesting... if i traded to rok/fyfe how much points is it really earning because i will end up starting mzungu over jroo anyway???
Also 5 trades??? Wanted 6 gng into finals but i can see u talking me out of it :)
Also would prefer gng jroo-->franklin this week
And in a couple of weeks according to the tooserious salary calculator ablett should be at 500,000...i would have 540,000 after the jroo trade
I think the ablett/franklin combo is stronger than the one u listed
Your decision I was only following up on the idea you wished to trade J Roo previously
Some Facts
J Roo last 3 game average 68 last 5 game average 69
Mzungu last 3 game average 93 Last 5 game average 84
So by starting Mzungu over J Roo say 25ppg.
However by upgrading J Roo
ROK last 3 game average 112 last 5 game average 113 ROK $477800
Fyfe last 3 game average 116 last 5 game average 109 Fyfe $452500
Franklin last 3 game average 95 last 5 game average 96 Franklin $439700
So effectively upgrading J Roo to ROK or Fyfe you would be effectively gaining nearly 50ppg.
Whilst Franklin has the capacity to score big he is also very inconsistent as can be seen by averages.
You need to watch this week though as you have Cyril to cover also.
If you want your six trades for finals and are confident of finishing top 4 then maybe just do the Priddis trade or hold of all together if you are set on Ablett

I have top spot in the bag in my main league so thinkning ill keep the faith in jroo and just upgrade iles-->ablett in a couple of weeks
Depending on change in values will leave you around 125k after Iles to Ablett.
Although you want 6 trades for finals you may wish to take advantage of rookies on bubble in the next few weeks especially Callinan who is only $91700 for forward mid downgrade.
Yeh prestia/smith-->callinan sounds good!
If u were in my position (undefeated in league and averaging 50ppg more than 2nd) would you do the jroo trade as well???
Thanks
Only if you had enough cash to spare after Ablett who obviusly will score a lot higher than any one else. If I went Ablett I would probably use J Roo as protection against injury and byes and then look at the upgrade for finals.

Ok so i think i will hold onto the jroo trade until I know that i can upgrade him and get ablett. Remember jroo would just be my f7/8 because im upgrading yarran come finals hopefully and ill start mzungu over jroo most weeks
Thoughts??
Ok guys im still undefeated in my league and i have $330,000 and 7 trades remaining
My team is:
Fisher goddard enright newman gibbs deledio lower__mckernan puopolo buckley
Swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin sylvia__prestia jacobs iles
Sandi cox__lobbe bailey
Pav n.roo murphy cyril goodes jroo yarran__mzungu i.smith c.richo
Thoughts on what trades to make either this week or in the future???
Thanks :)
Watched the Suns/Richmond game on the weekend and obviusly J Roo is not 100% Twice he kicked for goal of no more than 2 steps and sprayed it, does not appear to be able to leap like he has in the past so I would be seriusly considering upgrading him now. (I know this contracdicts my last advice but this was the first time I had seem play for a while.) Going into finals I do not think you can have the luxury of both Roos underperforming.
I would still keep the Isles GAJ trade up your sleeve as Gazz has a predicted 233 B/e this week and Iles 56 so again by holding off you could gain some cash.
However this week I would definitely be looking at Buckley to Talia (Talia is on the bubble 2 scores 92, 81) and Buckley not in the pies team at the moment. Gains another $150k for your upgrades.
If you did Buckley to Talia and J Roo to ROK or Fyfe this week you would still have around $320k for the Iles Ablet upgrade in future weeks.
These trades will then leave you 4 for finals and LTI
Wow thanks for the help!
I dont think i can go into finals with both roo's and yarran and jroo is definitely the worst performing one out of the 3 so it seems he has to go! Thinking jroo-->buddy??
Then when iles hits his ceiling and gaj bottoms out I will go iles-->ablett! Thoughts?
Im not sure whether i like the buckley trade tho??? Swapping him and jacobs gives me great flexibility!
And i want 5 trades minimum going into finals so i would preferably like to do these 2 upgrades then be done with trading until finals!
sounds good. might be worth holding onto buckley, especially with Shaw now out of the team.

yeh i can see buckley stringing some games together now Heath 'idiot' Shaw is out!
thinking that as Yarran has the finals bye should I flick him and keep jroo???

definitely flick Jroo, his body is not right.
how much cash left over, after upgrading Jroo to Franklin.

$211,800
jroo > franklin AND Iles>montagna is very much on the cards. Montagna has a TREMENDOUS record against Adelaide, and is coming back into form.
Then Cotchin > ablett once ablett bottoms out.
You could either break-even and waste a sideways trade, or end up laughing, if tag comes home strong to push Saints to top 8.
something to think about....

Well i didnt think of trading out cotchin always thoughts he would be a keeper so i woul be trading iles and cotchin-->montgs and ablett...I think cotchin-->montags is a bit sideways and not worth a trade!
Think i will stick to jroo and iles-->buddy and gaj leaving me with 5 trades maxum left for finals! Is this enough??
plenty mate, your in a good position. your undefeated atm nothing to woorry about!!
just keep an eye out for tags. Richmond have a tough draw coming up.
Saints have Adelaide and GC next, he could get back into form and average 110 from here onwards. which could be about a 10-15 ppg over cotchin.
worst case scenario, he could break even with cotchin.
it really comes down to whether you think he could turn the corner, and return to his best. last weeks 150 against West Coast was encouraging
So wot trades should I do THIS week???
how many wins is the person coming 2nd have?
jroo > franklin and take the donut in rucks
then iles > ablett (week after)
Top position is in the bag (3 games ahead)
Now i think about it...is there a point trading until finals as i have top spot????
How would i cop a '0' in my rucks?
ahh forgot you have bailey.
I definitely think you should upgrade Jack Riewoldt, you certainly have the luxury of trades to do so, you may as well do it now that he has bottomed in price.
Next week, would be a good idea to grab another midfielder, and use Sylvia as a swing man to cover suspensions or whatever.
Haha no worries
So jroo > buddy (is he the best option?) this week
And i was actually thinking mpp'ing mckernan with murphy then i could field sylvia in my forwards??
simply choose best available, and thats going to be Franklin. his scores are so consistent now as he is not locked @ FF.

Cloke & Fyfe are options if you don't have them.
I'm personally replacing Jroo with Cloke, because I already have Franklin.
But come its hard to look pass franklin at his current price and what he is capable of.

This week or next though???
this week
Fisher goddard enright newman gibbs deledio lower <mckernan puopolo buckley>
Swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin sylvia <prestia jacobs iles>
Bailey cox <lobbe sandi>
Pav n.roo i.smith cyril goodes franklin yarran <mzungu murphy c.richo>
note: if you want to upgrade cotchin the week after you may need another downgrade.
next week
Fisher goddard enright newman gibbs deledio lower <mckernan puopolo buckley>
Swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin (or replacement, up to you) ablett <prestia jacobs mzungu>
Bailey cox <lobbe sandi>
Pav n.roo murphy cyril goodes franklin yarran <sylvia i.smith c.richo>
Wow ur advce is super charlie!
I have actually been convincee in another thread not to trade until first week of the finals! As it has been brought to my attention that i would effectively be trading in junktime of my league! So if i can afford to wAit...why not???
Why would you not want to trade now? imo, doesn't make sense.
You may as well do these trades, as both Franklin and Ablett would have bottomed out in price. Jack Riewoldt is going to end up as dead weight and will lose more and more $$$
Adding Ablett the following week, will also increase your coverage as you have one spare forward that can act as a floating swing man.
Adding extra coverage is effectively the same as having trades in hands...

sylvia wouldnt be benched??? I would swing sylvia forward for smith then upgrade iles-->ablett
Jroo-->buddy would be an additional upgrade!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Jroo b/e is around 80 and buddy b/e is around 110 so prices wont change much this week
Gaj has a b/e of 200 so can probably wait another couple of weeks!
I have got 1st place sewn up so even if i lose next 2 weeks(which i wont) i will finish first! I have plenty of cash to wait so why not?
I didnt trade last week which in hindsight was a good move as now i think i will have to trade NEWMAN depending on the time length of his injury
Clear advice please!
Thanks :)
If you have not got Ablett that is the only trade I would make this week considering he is only $498k, B/e is 93 so I do not think he will be cheaper.

REALLY?!?! Even with newman (rumoured out for season) and murphy's injuries and with buddy having a super low b/e as well???
Newman has a bye this week so reasoning was you can assess in a week when undoubtedly more will be known about his injury. J Roo also has the bye but if you think Buddy will rise too much in price this week then also do the trade. I would definitely consider Ablett though this week/
You've got 7 trades mate, I just feel you are taking a far too cautious approach.
Would have taken Franklin last week... and would take Ablett this week.
Yeh i am being conservative but i know what can happen in the last couple of rounds! Ideally i would like 4 trades for rounds 23 &24 and maybe 1 for the first couple of rounds of finals! Leaving me with about 5 trades for finals leaving 2 Trades to be done between now and finals.
So my options for the 2 trades are: jroo-->buddy...iles-->gaj...newman-->premium defender
Bare in my mind if i dont trade newman lower will become my D7
Advice please thanks :)

Those trades look fine. Lower/Buckley should be more than adequate D7. The D7 is more of a luxury trade at this stage.
Seriously mate 7 trades!
something like this in a few weeks. decent team.
fisher goddard enright s. martin gibbs deledio lower <mckernan puopolo buckley>
swan pendles boyd s.thommo cotchin ablett <prestia jacobs mzungu>
sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
pav n.roo murphy cyril goodes franklin sylvia <yarran i.smith c.richo>
could also push murphy down back as D7, and upgrade yarran during finals.
Cheers CS!
So u suggest 3 trades prior to finals...i know u will say i have plenty of trades so dont worry BUT i listed in my previous post that i wanted 5 trades for finals 1 for the first 2 rounds then 4 for the last 2 rounds so out of the 3 trades i suggested which 2 would you do before finals???
I think these are trades you simply have to do, theres no points in delaying it.
1. The newman trade, definitely move here.
2. Getting an M6 for finals, may as well make a move here while Ablett is bottomed out
3. Addressing the F7 situation, R. Murphy and J. Riewoldt is simply not going to cut it.
All 3 of these trades, have strong merits to do it now, rather than later, before they get expensive.
Honestly, there is absolutely no reason why you can't be competitive in overall, while also winning your leagues.

I couldnt care less about overall rite now mate my focus is on league
I dont think i can avoid these 3 trades tho...newman-->broughton/suckling/birchall (thoughts please) ...iles-->gaj...jroo/yarran-->buddy
This would leave me with 4 trades max. for finals and IMO a strong team!
Thoughts on all this thanks mate :)
keep yarran, sideways jroo out to franklin. yarran should average about 85, which is more than adequate for an F8.
iles > ablett is no brainer.
newman > PREMIUM (lots of options here)
broughton will have the highest ceiling out of all of them, but is a bit expensive now, if you have the cash why not.
if your looking at good value, I really like stefan martin.
i've cooled off on both birchall/suckling now, but thats just me. suckling seems a bit fragile, and birchall will be the first to get a tag.
Even though i am focused on league i think i should trade this week. Probly just the jroo-->buddy trade as broughton and newmans prces wont change much also yes ablett will rise a lot this week but sam iles still has a low b/e so it isnt worth the trade becoz who know what might happen between now and next week!
I think i like broughton out of the premmy defenders. Im not sold on martin im afraid and i think hawks will rest quite a few of their guns in rnd 24!
I would consider the Ablett trade as well this week as he will probably be at his lowest price and B/e is only 93.
Yes im aware gaj is at his lowest price but iles (whom ill be trading) only has a b/e of 40 and according to the salary calculator on tooserius they are both predicted to rise about 15k...therefore i may as well wait a week!
jayman, just back yourself a bit mate.
good trades.

yeh i hear ya mate!
This week
Jroo-->buddy
Next week
Newman & iles-->broughton & ablett
Leaving 4 trades for finals... u reckon this amount is enough?
plenty
Great!
Now with iles out it makes sense to do the ablett trade as well yer?
Yea do both trades this week.
Will be done mate!
Leaving me with 5 trades an still needing to trade newman before finals most probly to broughton. Then barring injuries/suspensions i will be taking 4 trades into finals and a team looking like this:
Def: goddard gibbs deledio enright broughton fisher murphy <lower puopolo buckley>
mid: swan pendles ablett scottyT boyd cotchin <prestia jacobs mzungu>
Ruc: sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
for: pav nroo buddy goodes sylvia cyril yarran <mckernan richo i.smith>
Does this team going into finals look strong?
Trades are all done
Ok guys pretty set on doing newman-->broughton this week...this sound good? My team is as follows with 4 trades left:
Def: goddard gibbs deledio enright NEWMAN fisher murphy <lower puopolo buckley>
mid: swan pendles ablett scottyT boyd cotchin <prestia jacobs mzungu>
Ruc: sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
for: pav nroo buddy goodes sylvia cyril yarran <mckernan richo i.smith>
Broughton's done a serious corkie during the game. So maybe just wait a bit before you do any trades.
I Always follow the rule: never trade until 5pm friday :P
Im contemplating whether broughton is 80k better than birchall/suckling???

Almighty yes, if he stays on the park, and stays in the mids.
Yeh broughton is the best option i think
With sandi still out & ablett under a cloud should this change anything?
you should be right. just trade out newman.
you have pretty good cover. ablett should be gone just a week.
Sweet mate
With syvia and enright out as well as ablett and sandi should i change my trade strategy?
Also u still think gregory is the best option???
Chheers
I don't think you need to change anything. Keep Lower mate.
Def: goddard gibbs deledio lower BROUGHTON/BIRCHALL fisher puopolo <ENRIGHT, MURPHY, jacobs>
mid: swan pendles mzungu scottyT buckley cotchin <prestia, BOYD, ABLETT>
Ruc: bailey cox <lobbe sandilands>
for: pav nroo buddy goodes SYLVIA cyril yarran <mckernan richo i.smith (E)>
I have a feeling Sylvia, might be a 'late in' so I suggest you start him and have I. Smith emergency.
Thanks CS!
I think broughton is 80k better than birchall but...is he 120k better than johncock?
Cheers!
Went broughton!

went back to defense... could be the corkie from last week, but who knows!
Just my luck!!!
Ok guys i dont think i need to trade this week...hoping to keep the 4 trades i have until rnds 23,24!
So here is my team that finished 1st in league (vsing crawf this week) 5.5k and 4 trades
Def: goddard gibbs deledio enright broughton fisher murphy <lower(E) puopolo buckley>
mid: swan pendles ablett scottyT boyd cotchin <prestia jacobs mzungu(E)>
Ruc: sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
for: pav nroo buddy goodes sylvia cyril yarran <mckernan richo i.smith(E)>
In the league I am in Crawf finished 8th and is playing my brother who finished 5th so you may have an ok match so as you say hold your trades. However if by chance you loose to Crawf I would be trading next week.

whats crawfs team look like.
This is Crawfs Team in my league so assuming it is the same pending trades of course and 2 weeks ago he said he only had 5 so maybe getting short.
Backs: Goddard, Fisher, Lids, Grundy, Lower, Broadbent, Pederson ,Tom Murphy,Hibberd, Toy
Centres: Pendles, Judd, Marc Murphy, Ablett, Fyfe, Cotchin, McKenzie. Libba, Isaac Smith
Rucks: Petrie, Smith, Sandi, Derryck
Forwards: Goodes, Franklin, Jack Roo, Rioli, Darling, Hurley, Ballantyne, Prestia, Matera, Richardson
So if Crawf has the same team in Jaymans League you can see why no trades necessary. Jayman maybe confirm Crawfs Team to Charlie.

Yeh thats what i see! It isnt the worst team but it is quite average! Dont like the uniques of broadbent murphy and ballantyne!
Ill probly hold me trades this week
Cheers fellas!
I'll have a look. On first look, he is going to really struggle with Petrie and Smith out.
I assume his going to make a trade here.
And your bench is way better to cover emergencies. I think Crawf will be in real trouble in Prelim finals if he does not have 2 or more trades left. In saying that even with his uniques I can see you covering him will Sandi be back if not possible zero in ruck. With Hibberd and Toy not playing and Pedersen with bye has to rely on Tom Murphy in defence. Mids OK unless one of his prems does not play and forwards while solid not outstanding.
You've got him covered easily
with 4 trades, I would make 1 downgrade now.
Prestia > Callinan (who cares if he doesn't play).
then make your moves in round 23, after you beat crawf.

That does sound like a solid trade retaining mpp! I read that callinan was a strong chance for selection this week!!!
Wot about doing yarran-->callinan this week and start mzungu! I would get a lot of money and I would be trading out a player who has a bye in rnd 23?!?
yaz should score well on the wide grounds. his still got a low BE, so sideways him off before his bye in round 23, and make use of his scoring potential.
prestia > callinan should give you about 200k.
which is more than enough for 2 upgrades, for yarran and maybe a midfielder like cotchin
important game for carlton.

Exactly!
Just thinking about it...im thinking the trade spent on bringing callinan in for prestia would be better used elsewhere?!? Not this werk but for later on!
Im gonna try and save 4 trades for rnds 23,24 as i have a feeling i will be needing to sideways trade a few players due to injuries/restings/tribunal!?! If you think about it gibbs & yarran are automatic sideways trades so their goes my trades for rnd23 and for the granny it be a great advantage to have 2 trades in hand!
Only concern is when I sideways yarran because he isnt quite in premium price range yet but ill work something out :)
So yeh i think ill just hold until the last 2 rnds
Cheers
i would do the downgrade now, and maximize the cash from Prestia.
don't underestimate having cash in hand for the future. will allow you to do 2 sideways trade in 1 go later on with extra cash.

Hmmmm good point but im not sure :/
Pro's of doing prestia-->callinan:
I have 200k in the bank
I can UPGRADE yarran instead of a sideways
I can actually improve my team instead of just sidewaysing (if thats a word ;)
Con's doing prestia>callinan:
I will only have 1 trade after trading yarran & giibs
Depending on injuries/rests/tribunal i mite not have my strongest team on the park due to lack of trades
I think im leaning towards holding becuase im not comfortable. Only having 1 trade for the granny!!! But i suppose i have to get there first!!!
Still undecided...any words of wisdom for me charlie?!!

Sandi in doubt :'(
I still think your fine. Bailey should be good for 70+ against Port Adelaide, which is more than adequate. If you did want to make a move the most obvious trade would be Sandilands > McEvoy, thats if you think his finished. Lets say Freo lose to Carlton, their top 8 chances are finished, so I would assume they are just going to put Sandilands in cotton wool. It may not hurt to make this move now.... its up to you.
He has to use 2 trades to fix his rucks, with Sandi and probably Smith out.
Sandilands, Petrie <Smith, Derickx>
Sandilands > McEvoy & Petrie > someone else
Pretty sure he will be grabbing McEvoy, so if you wanna eliminate the POD, and swallow your pride on Sandi, you could do the same thing.
Ill hold sandi i think...i hope he does get named even though it is unlikely but i agree with you, if they lose to carlton i dont think they will risk sandi! Lets GO dockers!!! Well if i win this week i have until round 23 to make a decision on him...and if he doesnt play them im GONE because i have to trade out gibbs and yarran as well!
I think the ??? Over sandi eliminates the chance of the prestia-->callinan trade then because i would have usesd up the trades on gibbs yarran and sandi!!!
Oh the dilemmas of sc hey!
thats a very valid point you make.
like i said 50/50 call. personally i would probably lean towards pulling the trigger. imagine if they put fyfe on ice that would cause havoc!

wouldnt worry me!!!
Im leaning towards holding
if hold back this week, you could also grab goldstein next week too! assuming sandi is finished.
Sandi named! Hope they play him or rest of year!
Thoughts on trades now???
no trade, reassess next week.
Have an emergency set in your RUCK
Cool! Ill reasses my Options next week!
Lobbe locked and loaded!!!
Enialated crawf!!!
Anythin this week?
Turned out maybe we should have downgraded Prestia after all. Look like his the sub dog again.
I consider would cashing out on Prestia.
and that leaves with plenty of cash to decide what to do in r23/24
Yeh would be handy to have $$$ in the bank so i could get a premium for yaz but im a bit wary becuase ill be sidewaysing yarran and gibbs next week which would mean only 1 trade for granny (assuming i do the downgrade and also that i win in rnd 23)
Its really hard becuase i have to make it to the granny and the downgrade would really help with that BUT if i make the granny i might be struggling get a competitive score as I have a feeling there will be more than 1 trade needed for sidewaysing players on my field.
Ohhh so hard :)
would do the downgrade, imo you have more than enough trades mate. you don't have to worry about judd/murphy in the mids.

Alrite sounds like a plan!
Just looking at options now and thinking another downgrade option could be buckley > andreoli.
PROS
This would make more money an retain MPP
It Would also make more $$$
CONS
Trading a guy who isnt gonna get a game in.
Thoughts???
sounds like good logic to me.
can you post your team again, trades left, cash left again so everyone can see.
Sure mate
Goddard gibbs deledio enright fisher broughton murphy <lower puopolo jacobs>
swan pendles ablett boyd scottyT cotchin <buckley mzungu prestia>
sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
Pav nroo franklin cyril sylvia yarran goodes <i.smith c.richo mckernan
4 trades and 5 k
Keep in mind no league game this week
yeh I would do the downgrade for sure.
what do the other mids look like in your league? from other people qualified.
Ok here is a list of all the mids of opposing teams still remaining in order of ladder finish.
2. Judd priddis deledio selwood thompson swallow <libba harris callinan> (won first week. In preliminary final
3. Pendles swan griffen pridis thompson martin <jacobs callinan irons>
4. Pendles judd murphy ablett fyfe cotchin <mckenzie libba smith>
6. Pendle swan ablett lids martin hodge <smith harris jacobs>
8. Judd swan ablett hodge chappy mzungu <atley fasolo callinan>
^^^^^ was this the info u were looking for CS ^^^^^^^
So which downgrade do you prefer???
I'm thinking something like that.
Trade 1: Geelong: I'm thinking Buckley downgrade to free up 210k.
Trade 2-3: Carlton bye: Yarran to Leon Neon/Cloke, Gibbs to Birchall <---- now frees up cash
Trade 4: Bombers bye: if no injuries or suspensions
Bombers: cotchin to mitchell against Gold Coast for the win.
you could even use Lower to maxmimize cash, if your happy with Pups and Jacobs as backups.
Quote from: charliesheen on August 17, 2011, 10:44:59 PM

I think i will keep lower...he is solid cover!
So this week: buckley-->andreoli
Next week: gibbs-->suckling/birchall & yarran-->leon/fyfe (if $$$ allow)
GF: most likely sideways a rested premium or if no restings cotchin is the obvious upgrade, i think i like mitchell/dal santo if $$$ allow.
Sounds like a strong plan mate!
Alright here goes charliesheen and others!
Last week i traded buckley-->andreoli giving me 212k and 3 trades remaining...im vsing the team that finished 3rd in league (he has 4 trades)
Here is my team at full strength...players not playing in capitals
Goddard GIBBS deledio enright fisher BROUGHTON murphy <lower puopolo jacobs>
swan pendles ablett boyd scottyT cotchin <andreoli mzungu prestia>
sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
PAVLICH nroo franklin cyril SYLVIA YARRAN goodes <i.smith c.richo mckernan>
Soooo i.smith comes on for pav...mzungu for yarran...lower for broughton...puopolo for gibbs ...prestia for sylvia
Obviously 2 trades must be done this week to make up for the 5 outs...but it is a matter of WHO???
Cheers guys.
Can you post opposition team too?
Goddard PUOPOLO deledio enright fisher BROUGHTON murphy <lower GIBBS jacobs>
swan pendles ablett boyd scottyT cotchin <andreoli SYLVIA, prestia>
sandi cox <lobbe bailey>
DAVIS/CLOKE nroo franklin cyril MZUNGU SMITH goodes <YARRAN c.richo mckernan>
Last trade subject to who is named tomorrow.
Sure i have listed his team below. i know for a fact he has 4 trades.
Gibbs goddard fisher heppel johncock adcock lower <otten talia taylor>
Pendles swan griffin scottyT priddis martin <jacobs callinan irons>
Mumford kreuzer <moran spencer>
Pav goodes ZaHarakis davis sylvia nroo danger <darling pitt j.Tipp>
You could probly add harvey fyfe chapman stevieJ to the list of davis/clocke???
What do you think the next trade should be?, im thinking that trading out a defender could have some merit because mzungu and ismith can probly hold down F6 & F7 but puopolo is a bit weak. Ill look at all the options and it will come down to which trade makes more points and also if you think i can beat me opponent.
Cheers mate
You are correct in both PUOPOLO and BROUGHTON are the weak links, and thats where your last trade will go.
The million dollar question is, "Is it worth holding onto Broughton even if he is named?".
I would like to see the team lists and how Freo structure up before making any decisions.
BTW, I think you have him easily.
For the last forward spot Davis/Cloke/SJ are all good options. I would lean towards Davis. In the SC GF, the pies face the cats, and top teams generally rely on their press rather than using defensive tags. See Heath Shaws 149 against the Cats in R8.
Boomer Harvey probably has the most favorable schedule, but IMO, you should base your decision on best available and form, rather than too much on schedule (think Jamar, Hurn, Lecras, etc who have been a bit fail)
Broughton is named on the half back flank.
So pav-->fwd prem. But where do you think the next trade should go? or if you think i will win without another trade it would make sense to hold it correct???
pav > davis/SJ & broughton>bock.
I don't trust Broughton.
Thats just my personal feeling.
Wow! I dont know about trading broughton, i just broughton him in 3 weeks ago when he had a 5 game average of 125. But since then he has served up a 60,50 and a 40! So i guess he is my worst performer going by form. But dont you think i have bigger problems because i would be keeping 3 guys that arent playing this week (sylvia yarran gibbs) and one out for season (sylvia) to trade out a guy that is playing and can average 100+

sometimes you have to swallow your pride when you have made mistakes.

true. BTW it is mzungu & i.smith who will start this week (only 1 of them next week)
You are convincing me to trade gregory though!! Wot about gibbs surely he wont score more points next week than broughton will score this week and next??? In saying that if i have my opponent covered this week (which i do) then i should keep gibbs as he should score well in rnd 24.
So I think pav & gregory-->StevieJ & Bock
Next week barring restings/injuries/suspensions i will trade sylvia-->davis/harvey/chappy/cloke/fyfe
Wont lock it in until tomorrow though as i dont want to go through what my mate went through last week when he brouht in leon on the thursday arvo!!!
well next week you can re-evaluate where the most points are to be gained.
remember you gain Yarran back that week.
Isaac Smith and Mzungu are gold right now. Especially Mzungu, he is basically playing full on mids now.
Ok
U think the bock & stevieJ combo is the best option? I think bock is a lock and i think sj just edges leon and fyfe IMO. This combo does use up most of my $$$ though.
Based on historical data, I think SJ/Rioli/Cloke will yield the highest amount of points for this Round. Pretty scary scores coming if you don't have them.
For both rounds combined, I would say Rioli (if he is not rested) and Leon Davis have the highest potential.
Already have cyril.
Have narrowed it down to 2! Davis & stevieJ...leaning towards johnson because of the draw as he has sydney (120 last time played) and the pies (136 last time played)!!! Davis has freo and geelong and although he will most likely score very well this week at the wide-open subiaco im thinking he could get rested next week due to his previous injury and if he does play geelong might even tag him to prevent their run of half back.
ill sleep on it and see what I come up with tomorrow :P
Also lower vs puopolo for d7???
Probably won't matter, I thnk you have this league win easily.
Would just go safe with Pups. Lower will spend time in the mids so will probably have a higher ceiling.
Out of 4 leagues im im 3 GF's!
Cant do much but wait for teams i guess!!!
Actually charliesheen there is something I can do...post teams of my opponents, here goes! We will start off with my team to refresh your memory
My team...1 trade...19.6 K

So theres my opponents listed in order of importance! So charlie if i could have a captai opinion and also where my last trade should go?
Cheers mate...youve been super help this year, i promise next year ill be more independent :P
I think you got most of these teams covered.
Not much we can do with 20k, because you went with expensive option in SJ.
Will have to wait until teams are announced I guess.
Good thing i went with sj rather than davis/fyfe!
Ok so with franklin and cyril out my team is lining up like this with a trade and 20k
Goddard gibbs deledio enright fisher bock puopolo <lower mckernan (E) jacobs>
gaj (V.C)swan pendles boyd (C) scottyT cotchin <andreoli sylvia prestia (E)>
sandi cox <bailey lobster (E)>

Where do you think this last trade should go CS???
Buddy > ROK
Gray if you are crazy and want the LULZ
Yeh was thinking trade buddy-->rok/cloke/harvey/chapman/petrie and gray/hale if im crazy ::) then bench mzungu
Do you think rok is the best option out of those i listed???
Also boyd vs gaj for C?
Cheers
Based on historical data and the fact that Sydney are playing for home final, yeh its solid. CHossing the right rookies is gonna be hard bit.
Boyd vs GAJ is coin toss.
can't split them myself, right now Boyd.... but i might change it...
Yeh rok seems solid! Boyd vs Gaj soooo close! Was leaning towards bpyd now i think gaj becuase all hawks out surely gaj will get more od the 3300 pie??!
