With the 2010-11 season all but over and some teams already looking ahead...
This can be the thread for the new season...
Today Mark Jackson has been named the new Coach of The Golden State Warriors, 3yr 6million deal with a 4th year option...
no prior coaching experience but i like the fit his calm PG mentality will be great for the Curry/Ellis combo...
Apparently they wanna trade Ellis for Iggy. To be honest I am not really a big fan of Iggy, I rkn his overrated.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6633355
Think thats a great trade for both teams if it happens.
Igoudala would give Warriors some height and big offensive numbers. Ellis going to Philly would mean Turner can play SF.
Yeah it's prob good deal for both teams but IMO deal is better for 76ers just cause I don't like Iggy lol.
it doesnt make a lot of sense to me either way... hear me out
Iggy has been experiencing knee tendonitis and achilles tendonitis over the last couple of years and missed several games in that time, The Warriors r predominantly a young team building, while the type of player Iggy is works the fact his body is letting him down makes none...
76ers get Monta Ellis who is a good player but is often guilty of jacking up a million shots at sub par %s combined with the fact that they have 3 young guards for that slot already in Jodie Meeks, Lou Williams and Evan Turner, these guys battled each other for regular minutes last year and all 3 at times showed if given opportunity can start and be productive, if 1 or 2 of these guys wernt dealt its a ludacris trade imo
I think the problem with GSW is that curry and ellis are too similar, both want the ball in their hands. With Curry and Iggy it means Curry will be the sole guy running plays and stuff. And as Maca24 said b4 it allows 76ers to play Turner at the SF.
IMO, 76ers should take this deal ASAP but GSW are getting ripped off. Iggy isn't the answer. It would be exciting as to see Ellis at 76ers though. And with Ellis gone maybe Jeremy Lin can get more game time ;D.
what the Warriors and 76ers both really need is a quality BIG man :-X
David Lee and Elton Brand r 6'9, that aint going nowhere in the playoffs...
Yeh i think this trade would make both teams very slightly better it's nuthing major really.
Also with Iggy i think his problem is that he isn't a go to guy he's better of as a sidekick to another Star which is what Curry can become if the Warriors piss off Ellis.
The 76ers on the other hand do need a strong scoring guard which Ellis is. So it's win win for both teams but in reality it's a nuthing move which wont put either team into title contention.
Also with the big men thing i don't think are any big men available/willing to go to either of those 2 teams.
I think the fact that Michael Beasley might be on the move is a bigger story.
It's either that or Minnesotta will move the 2nd pick so that's an interesting scenario.
Beasley on the move again.......
Where you hear that?
On Hoops Hype and a couple of contacts i have over in the US.
I've heard of Phoenix trading M.Gortat and there pick (13) for the timberwolves Number 2 pick aswell.
Quite simply the Timberwolves don't have another position at the 4/3 with K-Love, M.Beasley, A.Randolph, W.Johnson.
But it's basically either Beasley will be moved or they will shift the 2nd pick somewhere that's what there saying anyways.
Beasley is a gun i reckon if he moves again his career will fall apart
if it hasn't already....
i think Beasley has potential but there is an underlying reason as to why he is being moved CJ...
its easy enough to see, one of ur article posts on him confirmed it...
he wants to be the man... doesnt like to play 2nd fiddle even on the Heat team where he was 2nd scoring option he wasnt happy :-X
cant see any team making him their franchise player, not a lot of D or passing so basically a scorer rebounder...
Personally i would like to see Beasley at the Suns i think he would be a good fit there.
He would have the option of being the main scorer and we all no how much better players play when they play with Nash.
Also the Suns need someone like Beasley because i feel we have one of the worst list's in the game at the moment.
Beasley hasn't been able to adapt at all...
he was main man in college days
Miami picked him up as second fiddle to Wade
Timberwolves struggled this season
he is friends with Kevin Durant
maybe he could go to the Thunder...

Apparently it be Iggy for Kaman now. LA Clippers starting line-up gonna be beast if it happens lol.
DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, Iggy, Eric Gordon and Mo Williams. After a few years they can ditch Mo for Bledsoe when his ready lol.
hey guys,
Im just wondering when the Fantasy NBA opens for next season. I am pretty keen to make a team
Cheers :)
will be around September/October Reesbr, il fire up the fantasy thread when it opens...
should be even more competitive next season with a few new NBA fans on FF now 8)

Did you guys hear about Kyrie Irving the guy who is expected to be drafted number 1? Apparently he wants to play for Australia cause he was born here and his dad played for us :D. If it happens, what a coup! However, I think I will feel bad for Patty Mills cause he will probably have to accept a role on the bench like he is atm in Portland (though undoubtedly he will definitely get more mins). Maybe the 2 of them can share the backcourt.
I am so pumped lol, this could be the revival of the Boomers!

Good luck to him!
that hurts :(
chances of playing for team usa r substantially more limited than playing for the boomers...
Yeh.. 2012 Olympics he will be fighting Rose, CP3, Wall, Williams, JKidd, Westbrook.. to name a few.. Boomers arn't looking too bad tho
extreme possibility of lockout next year :(
22 of 30 teams r losing money :o
The Lakers total cap is 90 million :o the actual cap is 58 but there r soft cap allowances they have exploited...
29 of 30 teams r over the cap if u take away the soft cap allowances :o
apparently the situation is far worse than that of the NFL which has been in lockout for 100 days...
owners want a new model all together and its going to start with the players getting less...

deadline to strike a deal for the new CBA has expired so we r now effectively in a lockout a la 1999...
a la the NFL right now 107 days locked out, apparently its going to be worst than the NFL aswell due to the demands being poles apart...
22 of the 30 teams r losing money at a collective loss of 300 million dollars, owners want a new system, players dont want a pay cut :(
So no games/free agency until a deal is struck?

Details of the trade
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/sam_amick/06/30/kings.trade/index.html
The Kings have traded small forward Omri Casspi and a future first-round pick to the Cavaliers for forward J.J. Hickson.
The draft pick is lottery-protected next year, top-13 protected in 2013, top-12 protected in 2014 and top-10 protected from 2015-17. If the Cavs don't receive the pick by 2017, they will receive a second-round pick.

Good deal for the Kings IMO. Cousins and Hickson at the 4 and 5 should be good. Apart from acquiring Salmons I am starting to like the Kings. Very good young players.
That signifies that Dalembert is leaving if you ask me. Sacramento is now stacked with 4's and 5's. Jason Thomspon/JJ Hickson/Demarcus Cousins/Hassan Whiteside.
There's no way Dalembert is going back, he said he wants to be in a place that relies on him and obviously a team he'll get playing time on. This is a great sign for Miami!
Stuff Dalembert, IMO he is too old for a team like the Kings. Just gonna hinder the development of the future.

Exactly, allthough he's a pretty damn nice player. Demarcus if he keeps his head right though will be an All Star. Just needs to keep his off court indiscretions to a minimum. Can he do it with a long lockout on the way and nothing to do haha?
Losing Dalembert also frees up $14mil which we will need over the next few years to pay to Tyreke, Cousins etc when their initial rookie contracts are up.
Hopefully Whiteside develops well over the off-season to be a starting centre, to allow Cousins to play the PF. I think Cousins is more suited to PF than C

Yeah lol. There are quite a few players that would have been awesome players by now if it weren't for off court issues. Michael Beasley and OJ Mayo are the two that come into my mind from recent times. Same year as D-Rose but look at the difference between D-Rose and those two now lol. Also look at Arenas lol. I reckon he would have maintained his star status had he not decided to bring guns to a locker room. You could see he was a totally different player after that.
His salary is already struck from their cap and u guys r around 30m under already :o

So under the current rules and CBA we need to add another $8 - $10mil to our player wages to get to the minimum requirements.
The problem is, why would of a high profile free agent go to a team that's worse then theirs already, it can't be money because the team they're already at can offer them the most money + an addition year due to bird rights.
Things that don't work in Sacramento's favour -
- They're a small market
- They're relocating next year
- They aren't a contender
- Other teams can offer the same money that they can
I mean the best they're going to be able to do is gain a middle tier player. It annoys me aswell because I like Sacramento, they're just never going to get a CP3 or a Dwight Howard.
still need 4 more bodies on that roster so that will bring it up ;)

I think you answered in the wrong thread ;)
I agree with you that we most likely wouldnt get a CP3 or Superman but imagine if we did (prefer superman over CP3). Also it's not guarenteed that we are moving next year. So far the Kings have sold all suites for next season and season ticket sales are also up on last year (I have thought about buying a season ticket even though I wouldnt get to a game)
Which is disappointing to me because I read up on it and Sacramento have to refund all their ticket holders due to the lockout. It said something about interest as well.

This lockout seems to look worse and worse as it goes on.
Really annoying for me as I am heading the US at the end of the year and was hoping to catch a few NBA and NFL games.
Although the NFL lockout might get resolved, a full NBA season looks doubtful. Sucks as it is probably the only time I'll have the opportunity to see a live game.

Bit hard to tell with the Dwight situation, I think he wants to stay at Orlando to win a championship but he is angry that they don't give him a supporting cast to do so. It would be great to see him stay with the Magic and win one there instead of going to somewhere else (I think the Lakers have been mentioned).

Personally im more interested in CP3 trade wise. Would love to see him at the knicks with stoudemire and Anthony, that team would probably score 150 and give up 140+ most weeks.

haha yep they bought it for 310 mil, he has bugger all chance of leaving NO unless they get a boat load of talent in return which the knickerbockers most definitely do not own... in fact im not even sure they know what talent is

has to be a pipe dream, both need to be traded to LA and the only pieces they have of worth r Gasol, Bynum and Odom... at best that would only land one of them, they could offer picks but again theirs arent real juicy being at the end of the first round
http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2011/12/08/trade-rumors-flying-at-wicked-clip/?ls=iref:nbahpt1
trade rumors flying right as the free agency door opens, Hornets may accept a Gasol, Odom package for Paul :o
Id rather Howard tbh.
if they still have Bynum they may be able to drum something up as Houston r also involved with picks so may get both...
That said The Knicks r pulling hard too trying to get Chandler who Paul wants to play alongside again...
Caron Butler to Clips, Shane Battier to Heat, Tayshaun Prince stayed in Detroit
Indeed CP3 is goin to LA :o
The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a trade in which they will obtain New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, sources tell ESPN.com's Marc Stein.
The Houston Rockets are the third team in the trade and will obtain Gasol from the Hornets in return for Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, and a 2012 first-round pick that Houston received from the New York Knicks, sources said.
In Paul, the Lakers will obtain an All-Star and gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic Team member who has averaged 37.1 minutes, 18.7 points and 9.9 assists a game in his six NBA seasons.

hasn't been finalised yet but my Rockets are idiots
Bynum may get a run?
yeah it cant be finalized until the cba has been ratified but it may have snagged anywho...
The deal will not go through Friday, sources said, and Paul is expected to report to camp with the Hornets. It was not immediately clear, sources said, if the three-way trade involving the Hornets, Lakers and Rockets is merely snagged or in jeopardy.
haw haw haw its the Commissioner...
Sources said that a group of NBA owners, assembled in New York for the ratification of the league's new labor pact with the players, protested vigorously that the league-owned Hornets were trading Paul to the star-studded Lakers and convinced NBA commissioner David Stern to intervene.
"The deal is off," one source told ESPN.com.
its also related to the Lakers trading out 25million in contracts and only getting back CP3's 16 million contract, $ need to be closer in value
My god The Angel of Stern has a set. :o
Paul is apparently considering legal action and not reporting to camp, does not hava leg to stand on tho as it was not official in any way...
Makes u wonder how they r going to trade him tho, owners dont want him going to a big market team and he wont sign an extension with anyone other than one of those big market teams essentially only getting 60 games from him... like trying to sell a ferrari that a million miles on the clock
That's the thing, it was pretty much a fair deal and the owners nixed it. It pretty much guarantees CP3 is walking for nothing.
And really if they're going to use the "Basketball Reasons" clause. Bynum for Howard will be nixed too.
BP what team do you go for?
Quote from: bomberboy0618 on December 09, 2011, 05:52:05 PM
BP what team do you go for?
The Magic. But that's not the reason I think Bynum for Howard should be nixed.
And now....The wisdom of Cavs owner Dan Gilbert
Commissioner,
It would be a travesty to allow the Lakers to acquire Chris Paul in the apparent trade being discussed.
This trade should go to a vote of the 29 owners of the Hornets.
Over the next three seasons this deal would save the Lakers approximately $20 million in salaries and approximately $21 million in luxury taxes. That $21 million goes to non-taxpaying teams and to fund revenue sharing.
I cannot remember ever seeing a trade where a team got by far the best player in the trade and saved over $40 million in the process. And it doesn’t appear that they would give up any draft picks, which might allow to later make a trade for Dwight Howard (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3818/). (They would also get a large trade exception that would help them improve their team and/or eventually trade for Howard.) When the Lakers got Pau Gasol (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3513/) (at the time considered an extremely lopsided trade) they took on tens of millions in additional salary and luxury tax and they gave up a number of prospects (one in Marc Gasol (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4325/) who may become a max-salary player).
I just don’t see how we can allow this trade to happen.
I know the vast majority of owners feel the same way that I do.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….
Dan G.
Translation: If we lost LeBron for zipola we're going to be damned if we let you get anything for CP3
Pretty much.
I want this trade godammit. Who cares about the finances, if a team wants to do a trade, they should. I dont see how it is that lopsided it needs to be vetoed.
Howard reportedly wants to be traded to the Nets and only the Nets.
LET'S SEE YOU VETO THAT ANGEL OF STERN!
w0w im shocked, DH was born in Atlanta Georgia, has no real ties to Brooklyn> where the Nets r moving too in 2013...
Could it be that he rates D Will that much or is this the blowback from the CP3 deal being nixed, therefore CP3 signs as a free agent :-\
Dunno but im loving all the action already...
Fingers crossed Eddie Curry can get his shower sorted out and add a Defensive presence for us, Battier is a good signing too
holy shower ::) http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/7335641/sources-new-jersey-nets-meet-dwight-howard-tampering
Meanwhile we trade for "Big Baby".
On the plus side....my Brandon Bass flyer pick in fantasy looks a lot better now :P
odd lookin trade kind of Maccas burger for Hungry Jacks burger :P should be an uptick for both fantasy wise
Tyson Chandler a Knick...
Baron Davis, Chauncey Billups, Mike Miller r possible amnesty casualties... If we cut Miller frees up 5.4m in cap (strokes chin)
Hey Marcz do you go for the Heat?
I am pissed that the NBA has vetoed the CP3 trade. It should be that teams only get a trade vetoed if it is so ridiculous it would ruin one of the teams involved. The trade didnt seem like it would do that, yet because the Hornets are league owned it was stopped. >:(
yeah im a Heat fan, maybe the league had enough of LA gettin good end of trades :P jk they did get Pau Gasol for next to nothing tho...
The deal may go thru, probably will need another team involved or something, they want NO to get more out of it...
They have until Monday to get the deal done before the PA get involved and litigation ensues
Celtics want David West in a sign and trade....a deal that would effectively kill the CP3 to LA deal
And the Mavs look like they'll replace Caron Butler with Vinsanity
Vince is ancient and i hear they r talking multiple years :o
West is an odd sign too bcos they have no real starting C in Boston and they r getting a jump shooting PF ???
Marcz what do you think of Shane Battier joining the Heat?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wizards/shane-battier-announces-decision-to-sign-with-miami-heat-says-he-wants-a-winning-role/2011/12/08/gIQAuBdBfO_story.html?tid=pm_pop

more interested in the Eddie Curry project, was once a top prospect that battled weight and injury issues... if he plays 60 games look out

so maybe CP3 just plays it out and signs next year as a FA?
word on the st is CP3 to LA... Clippers :P
One source close to the situation said Sunday that New Orleans has asked the Clippers for Gordon, Chris Kaman, Eric Bledsoe, Al-Farouq Aminu and at least two future first-round picks in exchange for Paul.
Paul has actually stated this to be his 3rd preference behind Knicks Lakers, so he can play with Blake
David West signed with the Pacers, Lamar Odom traded to Dallas
So it seems the Clips whiffed on CP3. So they went out and claimed CB4. Chauncey Billups now a Clipper.

The Los Angeles Clippers (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/lac/los-angeles-clippers) have agreed to a deal in principle with the league-owned New Orleans Hornets (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/no/new-orleans-hornets) to acquire guard Chris Paul (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2779/chris-paul), according to sources close to the process.
The Clippers, sources said, will send guard Eric Gordon (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3431/eric-gordon), center Chris Kaman (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1982/chris-kaman), forward Al-Farouq Aminu (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4248/al-farouq-aminu) and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul.
The Clippers will also receive two future second-round picks, according to sources.
The deal is expected to be approved by the league Wednesday night, sources said.

i have no idea what Phoenix are doing - i just read yesterday they waived Vinsanity and got nothing for him (was probably being a bit optimistic that they would get anything for him though really ... ;)) ... apart from holding onto Nash and then re-building proper ... :-X
gonna be some more lean years in Phoenix ... :'(
it was related to the contract he had signed with the magic which basically meant if they kept him passed the first 24 hours of free agency this year they effectively pick up a 16million dollar option to keep him... strange lil out clause the magic put in incase his body didnt hold up i suppose :-\ Vince surely knew it was a long shot he would get that money

Enough about Dallas. What about them Kings
Tyreke - Oh Yeh
Thornton - License to shoot
Fredette - JIMMER!!! (was ok in his first game)
Cousins - Dominated the 2nd half against the Lakers
Salmons - Mr Consistant
Hayes - Great defender
Nice young team with some mix of experience. Should do well this year - prob just short of playoffs is my guess although I would love to see them make the playoffs.

Has the potential to score enough, just worried about the defensive side
Thornton/Tyreke will put up at least 40 points between them every game.
Cousins is good for a double/double most games (points/rebounds)
Jimmer has the ability to score quickly
Salmons can score freely at times and is better defensively than the rest.

Suns (misery) update:
Not shaking the 'geriatrics' tag (look, I love Steve Nash and Grant Hill but you have to start the re-build at some stage and they are just not doing it well at all) but is sort of a 'no real risk' signing cos he probably cost nothing anyway ...
Michael REDD

http://www.nba.com/suns/news/redd_signed_122911.html
Think Shannon Brown is 'not the droid' they were looking for ... bit of a no-brainer to me - he's a slash and dunk type player and they need to find the next young Ray Allen - then again, i'm not in elite sports management so what would i know.
You can still keep Nash and Hill but you have to get the good young talent around them - Channing Frye is like a mid-pricer in DT/SC with not a lot of upside, yet you go and trade away Goran Dragic? WTF??
Sorry, I've been a Phoenix supporter since Kevin Johnson/Tom Chambers days and the last 5yrs have been hard to swallow ... :'(

Suns (misery) update:
Not shaking the 'geriatrics' tag (look, I love Steve Nash and Grant Hill but you have to start the re-build at some stage and they are just not doing it well at all) but is sort of a 'no real risk' signing cos he probably cost nothing anyway ...

pretty sure they r saving their pennies to make a splash in next years free agency, the smaller market teams have basically cut big contracts and signed nobody of huge worth, the new cba was in flux so u really didnt know what u could afford... look at Miami and NY now 2-3 max contracts and u really cant sign anyone else and have no trading power without giving one of those stars...
agree Frye was overpaid, 6yr 30mil deal from memory but he definitely has upside, why he isnt reaching his potential idk but sometimes he falls way out the rotation so it must be work ethic or a mental thing :-\

Wow, year of Durant??!
back on Suns and Frye-bashing - think it's a little bit of both work ethic/attitude but maybe to be more fair it could be the fact that he's a one-trick pony ("i'm 6-10+ and I can shoot the 3" (sometimes)) ... ;)
Celtics haven't had the best of starts so far :-\
If any of you haven't noticed NBA League Pass is free till the 7th. Be using that as I'm not sure if One still shows NBA, and ESPN only show TNT & ABC games I think...

yeah The Kings should get something like that in return but they wont now its confirmed he is a bad egg, they have to move him too which other teams will play on... wouldnt expect offers to get serious until near the deadline yet The Kings might count their losses and deal him for flower all just so they get another fit body on their roster... pretty shallow on bigs now as that free agent C u guys signed failed his physical and has a heart condition :-\
didnt realise... don't watch Celtics much so wouldnt have known.
he only 6ft 1 so good effort!!!
Wow, that's surprising......
I'm going to see if CP3 has ever had ten rebounds in a game.....He's got past 10 boards 3 times. That just defies physics. ::)
21 Assists in a game. Nice.
So Chris Pail is now a Clipper. No one told me this. :P

Actually he got a second opinion and was given the all clear - so we signed him (actually gave him 1Million more than the original contract that was offered) - Chuck Hayes
He is more of a power forward than a centre - he only about 6ft 6 but has a wide frame and is very strong so can hold the bigger players at bay. He played against Pau Gasol when we played the Lakers.
We just sent our developing C to the D-League - Hassan Whiteside
Haha. When I looked at the Laker's roster I too was wondering who World Peace was.

apparently they arent going to deal him now, probably bcos of the fact he has damaged his value... his agent is now saying he didnt request a trade which perhaps restores a little credibilty and puts back on the front office for not communicating well enough
I have been following this quite closely Marcz. Other clubs have been sniffing around but surely they would only be offering lowball offers. (Boston, Houston, Washington)

Kyrie looks alright for Cleveland. Any chance of him suiting up for the Boomers? Or have they already quashed that?

Yeh I watched parts of a Cleveland game yesterday and he looked good. Good ball control, great 1st step off the dribble. I hope he gets to play for the Boomers - him, Patty, Martin and Bruton sounds like a great backcourt to me.

this is a solid show from the Kings that they r behind Cousins as Westphals random rotations would frustrate the most level headed guy...
as a fantasy player selecting a King is something i try to avoid, someone will get 35 minutes one night and 15 the next ::)
would not be surprised to see them really press for the future now with big minutes for Fredette, Cousins etc
Good move by the Kings. Now we just need to get a decent coach (not that many are probably available)

sensational win, best win for the year so far, no LBJ Wade and Chalmers steps up an drops 29, dude is Roto Gold with his %s etc
i prefer Chuck Norris Cole,
but Chalmers has stepped it up immensely to make sure he stays the number 1 PG at the Heat
i think its awesome that 1 Chalmers hung around and took a pay cut and 2 we have unearthed Cole instead of signing a Bibby, Baron Davis, Gilbert Arenas type Guard whose only way is down... hopefully Eddie Curry gets fitter soon to add some depth down low
Speaking of Heat, did anyone see LeBron's travel in the first quarter on a fastbreak? Gees... worst travel I have seen in my life and I've been playing basketball a long time!
thats just the NBA, if ur a star u get away with anything... and even then they give ya an extra step to standard basketball ::)
i remember a Shawn Kemp fastbreak dunk from the 90's that was full tilt and looked ok at first, when u saw it in slo mo he took like 5 steps ;D it was ridiculous, he took one dribble past mid court ??? took the rebound maybe 3-4 total dribbles one end to the other and tub-a-hot-jam :P il try find it on the tube for ya ;)

Marc Miami lost in overtime this morning to Golden State 106-111
Wade played with sore foot (apparently has plantar fasciitis) 34 points 6 rebounds
James 26 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.
Chris Bosh 16 points and 4 rebounds.
I was just about to ask what is up with Wade. I look at the scoring sheets and his name isn't up there often enough.
I just figured James has been poaching points.
plantar fasciitis is not a confirmed diagnosis and officially Wade has nothing worse than a bruised heel
but he has struggled since before the season started and has a day to day prognosis on playing
yeah i knew he had been struggling with it, he got those points in low minutes too, i think its wise to manage his minutes as he has a history of getting banged up and he is a few years older than James...

The kid has been Lin-credible taking the Knicks to 5 wins without 'Melo and Stoudamire. Scratch that up to 6 today after hitting a 3 with half a second to go for the go ahead lead.

Looks like Ellis didn't need to leave GS for Lin to shine!

I wonder how he will go when Melo is back as well. Scoring would most likely take a hit but he is there to be the point guard and pass first (unlike that hack Douglas). Hopefully Melo doesn't ball hog too much and let Lin do his thing.

tbh ive been kind of expecting since the 2nd game of this tear, i scooped him fairly early in my fantasy leagues as a speculative add incase he managed to carve a role out, but i didnt even expect him to keep this sort of production up... id expect him to remain a 12pts 8ast guy once everyone returns.

nah, i haven't seen any of his games but from all the commentary i've been seeing he has the basketball IQ to just put the cue back in the rack and be a facilitator for Melo and/or Amar'e when they get back - i don't think you'd class him as a 'one trick pony' - his strength is knowing the game, a fundamentals player - that's what you have to be when you're not an athletic freak - the test will be if he doesn't have the smarts to put the ego aside and play the team game, but because he's had to fight for his spot all the way i'd doubt that would be an issue - he'd know his place in the side.

I have been saying this since the start of February. Kobe, Love and Rose are the three most important players to their teams.
What about Howard :P
I love Kevin Love 8) He's awesome.
Howard is a good one. I was thinking Dirk and Paul could also be in that category. Since Paul has been at the Clippers he has helped turn them into a top 5 team.
Dirk had a terrible start to the season and isn't flying high enough to even be considered. Paul has been relatively quiet, so I don't think he is even a smokey at this point.

I just listed Dirk and Paul as players who are important to their teams not guys to consider as league MVP candidates at this point.
Chris Paul is slaying. Amazing to see just how much playing at New Orleans was holding him back.

Bogut for Ellis. IMO, good deal for the Warriors if Bogut and Curry can stay healthy. Curry the undisputed ball handler now.
The exact trade was Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown for Bogut and Stephen Jackson.

risky but if he stays healthy could be a boon for Golden State?? :o
Kwame Brown is out for the season and signed a 1 year contract. He will not be with either team next season. Jackson will replace Ellis at the 2 and Bogut will be in a rotation with Biedrins and Lee. He is the best defensive player of the 3 and both Biedrins and Bogut have injury problems. Ellis adds a scorer the Bucks needed but they lose Bogut. Bogut was often injured for them but he was playing lights out before he broke his arm. The Bucks wont be a playoff team this season but if they can get a defensive minded center through FA or the draft they could make the playoffs next season. I don't know if Ellis fits Skiles defensive system.
Ellis is such a dominant scorer.
Cannot believe he went so late in the draft.
Not much of a basketball fan but one of my friends said Andrew Bogut got traded today for 3 players. :o Is he really worth 3 players?? And are the players any good?? :D
where will dwight go???
5 hours till the trade deadline, being an Orlando supporter i hope that we end up trading him because even though he wants to stay at the magic until the end of the season i think that is only so the nets don't have to give up anything to get him where as i would much rather us get Brook Lopez from the nets and a couple of draft picks instead of nothing :-\

Deadline is actually Friday over here, Thursday over there. Trade him for Bynum!
there are a lack of superstar centers in the NBA that's why teams are doing stuff like the Bogut deal
Let the trade deadline madness begin (think it's over anyways)!
What a steal for the Clippers to get Nick Young for Brian Cook lol. Fisher dealt to Rockets (no idea why you would trade Jordan Hill for Fisher and a non-lottery pick). Blazers begin gutting their roster after sacking their coach, Camby gone to Rockets, Wallace to the Nets, waiving Oden. Anyways let's discuss! Who you guys think have done best and worst.
For me:
Best: Clippers getting Nick Young for rubbish.
Worst: Cavs agreeing to take Luke Walton (not expiring either), Kapono (is expiring and small deal), Lakers 1st rd and right to trade Heat's 2013 1sr rd pick with the Lakers 1st rd. All this crap for a good player like Sessions and Eyenga. Unless they did it so that Kyrie would get more game time and they can start tanking for better picks.

Hawks beat Jazz in 4OT 139 -133
The four overtimes tied for the third-longest game in NBA history.
It was the ninth NBA game to go four OTs and the first since Phoenix beat Portland 140-139 on Nov. 14, 1997.
The teams were a combined 2 of 16 from the field in the first OT, and their combined four points tied for 2nd-fewest in NBA history in an overtime period
The lead changed hands 14 times
The score was tied 19 times
If Love keeps putting up the numbers he did the last two games he has to be seriously considered for MVP. 21 boards including 7 offensive, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks and 30 points. In the double OT game against the Thunder he hit a contested 3 in regulation to send it to OT after Durant hit one. He had 14 boards, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 block assists and 51 points. He was 7/11 from 3 point range including that critical 3 to send it to OT. He is an absolute freak.
Dan Gilbert the biggest hypocrite. Demands puppet Stern to veto the CP3 deal to Lakers because the Lakers were getting a very good deal. Now he gives up Sessions for peanuts to the Lakers. Yes, he was off the bench and Irving is the future, but you could have gotten so much more.

100% correct on Sessions. Kyrie Irving was always going to be the starter in Cleveland. He has played well in his first season making Sessions expendable. Sessions was not going to be in Cleveland next season so they might as well get something for him instead of nothing when he leaves in free agency.

Would you really take on Luke Walton's contract (and Kapono who wass waivered) which still has a year to run just to get something for Sessions? He hates on the Lakers but he would give up someone like Sessions for a bunch of contra assets (yes I know they got a late first rd pick). I rather have the expiring contract and free cap room, then take shower players who aren't even a quarter of Session's value and have to pay them for another year.
My other thought on this one-sided deal is perhaps Gilbert was so scared of a similar FA situation that he would take anything at all just so that he players don't leave for free.

it seems like a poor deal on the surface but for it to be official it ticked the obligatory boxes...
big picture is Sessions 25yo drafted in the
2nd round was traded to the Cleveland when the Cavs were eying Derrick Williams with their number 1 pick, essentially they saw more upside in Kyrie which in turn killed off the potential role planned for Sessions, but they also had the 4th pick where they acquired Tristan Thompson, a Power Forward like Williams, considerably rawer than Williams but depth at guard in the draft wasnt flash, so they got the best combo for their two picks, bare in mind even had The Cavs offered more money than anyone else he would essentially be a backup PG, Sessions is young enough he would sign where he felt he could have a starting role and possibly flourish.
Gilbert now is armed with enough picks from these two years to create a nucleus of 4-5 elite young guys that could grow together thru opportunities for big minutes immediately, he hopes to galvanize them as a group so they all sign their second contracts with the team around the time they realize their team potential if they commit to staying together.
TBH i think he is a reasonably clever guy playing the few cards he has as a small market NBA owner...
Whats is free, brings people together and man has been selling since the dawn of time?

Look at the nba.com video section. Blake has just dominated P Gasol with 2 monster dunks over him.
Houston Rockets 22 game winning streak home and away in 2008. 2nd longest in history.
Bulls 44 straight home games in 1995 and 1996 season.

no Wade (9 games he has missed this season 8-1 record without him)
Lebron James 26
Chris Bosh 22
James Jones 18
Norris Cole 10 (in 4 minutes)
add to that Chicago losing means Miami is one game behind Chicago with us to play them twice in the next 10 days
Bulls beat Heat 96-86
Rose scored a career low 2 points but the Heat managed only 2 points in OT. Heat have lost 6 games in the last 11.

i would expect a season out of the game for him actually
"World Peace was suspended for the majority of the 2004-05 season for his role in a brawl in which he rushed into a Detroit crowd to protest being hit with a cup of Diet Coke. His 86-game ban was the longest ever in the NBA for an on-court indiscretion."

theyre a tough group the grizzlies...really played well today...with the series now 1-1, i think they will take care of clippers in 6
Now onto more important news:
Yesterday Boston had an unbelievable final quater to take care of hawks confortably in the end...Paul 'the truth' Pierce with an absolutely brilliant game, 36 points and 14 rebounds (something like that)! Think we can take the series out now...we beat them with no Rondo/Allen in game two and now Josh Smith is in doubt for game 3...like our chances :)
I hope Grizzlies beat Clippers and yeah need Boston to go through or else the Heat are just gonna run through to the finals.

i'm aware of that but Mamba implied that because we lost last year that we will so again this year
No, I was just saying you were probably just as confident at this stage last year but look what happened. I don't get how that is implying that the Heat will lose again this year. You quoted the stats first and I just reminded you what happened last year when these stats would have said Heat would kill the Mavs.
My point is the same stats that were quoted last year are probably similar to this year's ones (LeBron and Wade are the top few players in terms of PER). However, look what happened last year. Mavs beat the Heat. I would assume that LeBron and Wade's PERs last year were greater than Dirk's. That means you can't really on regular season stats to determine which team is better in the play offs like you did in that post by implying the Heat will beat the Thunder because of better PERs.
Listen, the Heat are favorites and are deserving so. They got the soon to be crowned MVP, Wade and Bosh. They may walk through the East, but the West will provide much tougher competition so don't for one sec be under the illusion that Heat are guaranteed to win it all just because a couple of stats say so.
Anyways Ty Lawson and Corey Brewer just torched the Lakers to bring it to game 7.

Agree with Master Q. Chalmers is a good perimeter shooter and decent defender anyways. You don't need a star PG when LeBron is running the point and Wade is the secondary ball handler. Also, Shane Battier provides some good perimeter defence as well so that's an improvement to last year. Add the fact that Miller was injured, you have another 3 point shooter. IMO, last year's problems were bench depth and closing out games. I think the bench depth issue has been solved but closing out games, especially important ones remains to be seen.

i agree that last play was really weird dont sure what Spo was thinking!?
Spolestra would have been better off allowing James to take the ball to the rim and getting his big men to set the screen
at least he would have had an easier shot the FT's at the end were terrible from both sides
but at least it would have given Miami 2 ways to win the game instead of a hail mary 3 with the deciding shot

As the only decent big man he is very important and wade played a horrible game. If lebron played the same game he would have been bagged by every NBA commentator and fan. I think its clear who the best player in Miami is

The sad thing is if the heat go down people will bag out Lebron for it, it looks liked Cleveland today with Lebron carrying the team. Last year he got 8 points in a game and was masacered for it, Wade plays much worse and people say bad game by wade.
Pacers and even Philly to a degree remain of the pistons in 04, no stand out superstars just a team with true grit.

hibbert would be in top 5 centres IMO
A lot of the Pacers players are underrated.
Hibbert such an integral part of the team.
I bet no one would have tipped Pacers to go so well in the play offs. ;D
I suppose they are stars (actually All-Stars this years lol), but I guess what I am saying they don't a premium superstar/"carrier" like LeBron, Kobe etc. Pistons in 2006 (same line up that won it in 04) had the 2 Wallaces, Billups and Hamilton voted into the All-Star team.
So your saying they don't have a "Marquee" player.
Which is fair enough.
Yes Windi, that was the word I was looking for.
World Peace and Westbrook tangling up and World Peace decides to drop a knee on Westbrook causing Westbrook to crack the showers lol.
Replays show that Westbrook hit the back of MWP's leg which resulted in the knee dropping.

Lebron is carrying the heat, his last pefromance would have to be one of the best if not the best play-off game so far.

Was crucial for celtics to pinch one of those first two while in Miami, not to be :( just have to protect the homecourt an come out fighting in game 7!!!

Home court defense successful. 2-2 :D Rondo wins it for us again as LBJ gets fouled out for the first time since he moved to Miami.

I would love to see Miami win the next two just so that the best two players in the world go head to head for the championship. Loving the Thunder right now and Derek Fisher doing what he does down the stretch.

Heat have been my second team (favourite in the East) since they were down 2-0 against the Mavs in '06 and I really wanted to see an epic comeback. I hated LeBron in Cleveland (as a Lakers fan, I have to hate anyone who can beat us ::)) but, now that he's joined a team I love, I quite like him. (Does this make me the opposite of bandwagon?)
As for me liking OKC, it is definitely only because they're exciting and young. I'll stop enjoying watching them the moment they become boring. But, that being said, I never claimed to be a Thunder fan - just a fan of exciting basketball.

The reason why i think the celtics have no chance against the thunder is i dont think they will be able to keep up the pace. The weakness of the heat is the lack of quality big men and with bosh out the Celtics have been able to exploit this. The thunder have really good talls and i think they beat the celtics in this matchup. I cant see the celtics having the legs to run with westbrook and durrant. Against the spurs I would have gave them a good chance but if they do beat the heat sadly i think its going to be another win for the west (I say sadly as its not the Clippers)

If you look at the position by position matchups...
PG: Rondo vs. Westbrook
A month ago, I'd have backed Westbrook all the way but, right now, I say Rondo. In fact, I think Rondo will basically make Westbrook a non-factor.
SG: Allen vs. Harden (yes, he's off the bench but he'll be there when it counts)
Harden wins hands down. Allen's just a three point shot right now (considering his legs) whereas Harden is an everything.
SF: Pierce vs. Durant
Durant wins during the main parts and he's probably the only SF in the competition that I would put above Pierce in the clutch. Durant should win this on athleticism and size, as well as a slight edge in clutch shooting.
PF: Bass vs. Ibaka
Ibaka will eliminate Bass defensively making Bass a non-factor. Ibaka unlikely to be a huge impact on the offensive end though.
C: Garnett vs. Perkins
Perkins is a great defender but Garnett's length and elbow jumper will be too much for Perk. I'd like to think Ibaka might switch onto Garnett but Perkins and Bass don't really match up well. No matter what they do, this is a loss for the Thunder.
Rondo should provide most of his magic while quieting Westbrook and Garnett should do his business but Durant and Harden win their matchups too easily giving the Thunder the series win. That being said, I don't think it'll be a blowout at all. Expecting 6 or 7 games if these two teams meet.
im a lebron fan so I moved from the cavs to miami when he did, i see no problem with this. But yeah alot of people have jumped on the heat, its quite annoying actually for me I actually dont like the heat but i go for them just because lebron is in it. Would love to See Lebron v Durrant in the finals, i think Celtics will get killed by OKC if they win and i hate to say this but they have got lucky a Rose-less Bulls and bascially a Bosh-less Heat (he still doesn't look 100%).
Saying them im being harsh as celtics are my least favourite team.
yeah i can see why you'd follow Lebron, he's a star
I to would like to see Durant vs Bron...the two best players going head to head 8)
Now now, celts wont get killed mate! Sure they mightn't win but they are a very competitive group the Celts who would love to go out on a high, the wont go down easy trust me...but yeah unlikely they'll will lol
Boston's playoff run hasnt been as easy as you think mate: came up against the Hawks first round who are a great team...and even though it was tight they came out on top....they then came up against Philly who are a solid team with depth, very similar to Pacers who Heat struggled against, and once again the Celts came out on top
Who knows what will happen tomorrow but Boston are in the box seat when it looke unlilely they would come close to Miami
Against the spurs I would have gave them a good chance but if they do beat the heat sadly i think its going to be another win for the west (I say sadly as its not the Clippers)
cant disagree with that unfortunately :(
Game 6 about to start
Cmon Boston
Miami 26 - Boston 16 end of 1st
Miami 55 - Boston 35 end of 2nd
What a BS technical against KG
Miami 74 - Boston 61 end of 3rd
Miami 98 - Boston 79 end of Game
LeBron James 45 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists
Dwyane Wade 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

ive had enough of these heat and thunder bandwagon supporters! Not directing this at anyone in particular but I guarantee a heap of the thunder & heat fans only joined up in the last 2 years when okc matured into a championship team and heat sigmed Queen James and Chris 'dinosaur' Bosh.....really hope boston (who were wrote off last year) run their noses in it and win it all
Mate.. ive been going for heat before they won the championship in 2006.. Before that I didnt even know what basketball was :P

I wouldn't say terrible. Just sloppy and that really made the further efforts redundant. What was terrible was continually giving the ball to Pierce to shoot from outside when he was struggling to hit the side of a door on the front of a flowering hanger.
i'v only just got back into the NBA now that i'v figgured out how to watch it ;) so just putting that out there only really been watching these last 2 series...
just finished watching game 6 pretty dissapointing from Boston, not much you can do when Lebron is scoring like he was, but Celtics wasted alot of opportunity...
Wondering what peoples thought on Rondo are can he acctually shoot 3 pointers, it seems to me that it's probly the only thing missing from his game 261 career attempts put this against Wade 1,113, Durrant 1,544.
Is this something he should be doing?, he gets alot of chances...
Rondo isn't much of a shooter having only really made a massive improvement in his shooting abilities in the last 2 seasons. He is a traditional passing point guard and I'm happy for him to remaina s one, making his drives for lay ups and setting up the other fellas. But when Pierce shoots like he did in game 6, it makes it difficult for a passing PG to succeed.
Game 7. Very good first half from Boston while Heat keep up with them with LBJ going alright and Bosh smashing a three. 10 turnovers by Miami and add in 9 steals by the Celtics carved them up in the first half.

yes but for the most part of the game harden will probably play on wade. although I can see thabo playing a big role in this series in trying to negate one of James or Wade. will have to wait and see who!
I hope OKC win.
I'd hate to see LeQuit get a ring. :P

end.of.an.era for the celtics...not sure where to from here, gotta rebuild around Rajon i guess
Would've been nice to see the Celtics win one more together but I've been going for the Heat since my Lakers were eliminated. LET'S GO HEAT!
Heat will never win. Wade is in shocking form IMO.
Q Wade has been shocking all year........
James has carried Wade on his back all year and Bosh has been carrying Wade when he can
i have never been able to find replays online
I agree. James is the main man in Miami now.
Dunno if Wade likes that or not..... :o

there is alot of Lebron hate and i dont see the justification for it. lebron has been fantastic this year and the heat making it to the finals is largely due to him. has easily been the best player all year and more than deserves a win. I dont like the heat but im going for him for Lebron to get a ring. He is probably the most scrutinised player of all time and knowone has had it harder in the NBA.
He gets called a choker all the time, i think we should give the guy a break and I dont know why the basketball world wouldnt like to see the guy live up to his potential and play to his best in the finals.
I hated LeBron more at Cleveland than I do now... I'm hoping he wins a few rings because he deserves them! The Thunder can wait their turn ;)

Its not a sport channel anymore when they first announced it i thought it was going to show stuff like the tenni, nba etc.. The french open final wasnt even shown on free to air. Even if we cant see teams like Boston, heat, OKC play I wouldnt mind watching the occasional lower team play. Would be good exposure for a team like the kings if they could get shown here.
OKC win game 1
105 - 94
Kevin Durant (http://content.boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/public/style_emoticons/default/worthy.gif)
Dwayne wade still sleeping. surely gotta wake up soon and do something.
How explosive were Durant and Westbrook! As and OKC fan
Fisher,Sefolosha and Collisin were very good. Harden didn't play good. But what a comeback from OKC Thunder.

when you have Wade go missing like he has for a lot of this season, Bosh being restricted from recent injury it doesnt help
but still Chalmers has looked like an all star with the lack of defence that has been applied to his shooting and passing in the finals.....
James is a freak and i for one will be the happiest heat fan to see him win a ring, if indeed miami heat do win the series
trying to win games with an 8 man rotation...... spolestra is struggling

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Perhaps you need to look again as LeBron goes missing in the 4th when the game is there to win. Durant is a closer, LeBron a choker.
Lebron is carrying the Heat on his own at least Durant has Westbrook as reliable foil to help his game....
Lebron has never been a closer and why should he......
prior to James going to the Heat,
Wade was one of the top 5 closers in the NBA.... where did he go?
Lebron was carrying the Cavs before he arrived at Miami but had no star power around him at Cleveland hence why he moved to Miami....
Wade doesn't get the ball anymore like he use too, it goes to the disappearing LeBron constantly.
lol if you think James disappears you should have seen a lot less of Wade especially this season.....
I thought wade was playing with a knee injury?
Durant got pretty much half of his points in the last quarter.
That is all.
Wade has been playing with a knee injury all season, getting injections before each game. He'll be having surgery after the season. Wade closed all last season strong and the Heat choked when LBJ got that chance.
Cicjose, you are just too one eyed to see it clearly.

Different types of shots. LeBron's FG is inflated by all his drives, something Wade use to do a lot of but really has been restricted to a true SG more-so these play offs, largely due to his knee.
Wow i havnt been able to see much nba last few yrs so pretty keen to see wade at full fitness, looked pretty good to me in patches in the celtics series
My mates thought I was mad at the start of last year tipping OKC for the title this year. Can't wait to shove it in all my miami mates faces

Mismatches all across the board, it is as good as won IMO. I think the best the Heat can hope for is a 4-2 loss instead of being swept. In saying that though, I want a close series.
well if the Heat win game 2 the series is in back the Heat favour

Umm..... The Heat win at 2, 3 and 4... The biggest problem is the lack of depth. Wade is better than Harden, LeBron is (just) better than Durant, Bosh is better than Ibaka/Perkins (depending on whether he's playing 4 or 5).
If the Heat bench can be competitive, the Heat should win the series. I'm backing them right now.
....What bench. :P
Heat lead from start to finish
91-86
James 32 (12-12 FT)
Wade 24

Haslem, Miller, Cole, umm... Jones, err... Anthony.......
Team of superstars right there on the bench!
The Heat were lucky to escape with the win. Durant was fouled by LeBron on that late FG attempt to tie the game. James ends up hitting the free throws to put it out of reach. Add in that BS goal tending call on Ibaka. Thunder should have never let it get to that point but they can't help but feel a little cheated. I expect them to come out and dominate Miami next game.

Nah mate all good in regards to watching games! Will ask you if any troubles :)
i just assumed not everyone will have foxtel so yeah that's why i gave a suggestion to other links

but Heat.com will have pregame coverage half an hour before the game
and an after show at some point depending on the result
(its normally straight after the telecast but if the Heat win well yeah presentations and so forth may push it back)
Just say OKC win Game 5, then they have 2 homecourt games. Is there a chance they can win it?
yes.... but being 2 games in front makes it an uphill battle
in 2006 (when Miami won for the first time) they lost the first 2 to the Mavericks then Dwayne Wade went psycho and the Heat won 4 games in a row to clinch the title something similar would have to happen here....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_NBA_Playoffs#Best_record_in_NBA
go to the bottom of the page and scroll up to see the results of the 2006 series (showing that OKC still are with a shot)
Dwayne Wade averaged 39.25 ppg for the games that Miami won in 2006 and 33.5 for the 2006 finals series
Wow. Wade is a beast when he is on fire.
but the issue i have is so many people think that Wade is still top 5 in the NBA
but during this campaign he has been a shadow of his former self and IMO not even in the top 20 players of the league
Agreed. Is James having to much influence?
Maybe they don't need Wade....They could trade him & get a couple of decent support crew around James... ???

james is having too much influence he is just clearly the best in the team. To be honest they dont need wades role, he is a great player and of course is helping but not nearly as much as he would in any other team. James should never have gone to Miami. no need to trade for a centre, of the current draft selections up for grabs are centres that the league as a whole lacks
Miami also has Turiaf and Anthony as their 2 centres so we don't need a centre but with plenty around coming up on draft day it certainly won't hurt to get one

there are 11 centres in this draft according to the above list

They will never die but they r eating a different sort of shower sandwich...
Not sure ur hoping for Q, u have a great PG and most of the big men r under contract, Celts have no real trading chips
So Happy For LeBron, the haters will forever hate but now he has some solace, some inner peace 8)
Only team in NBA history to lose the first game in 3 consecutive finals series matchups and win.
Loving the milestones the Heat created with the win and hopefully a lot more fun to be had
now and into the not so distant future... Only 4 months away until the opening game of the 2012/13 season
are we closing off this thread and now moving to the 2012/13 thread? or are we going to wait until after Draft day on June 28? (June 29 in Australia)......

KG and Ray Ray are leaving so that leaves a ridiculous amount of money to use.

Just from a spectators perspective, I'd have liked to see him stay and then win MVP & get his ring by basically lifting his teammates around him to make them play better.

OJ Mayo is being linked to Celtics. Id like to see Beasley in a Celts jersey, Doc could turn him into a force!

Beasley is nice, but I don't really see him filling the hole. Dwayne Wade anyone?
As much as we'd like it to happen.
Wade won't get traded....
Beasley a great talent... :)

....That is a very good statement. :o
you know that Beasley was part of a group of draftees that were smoking marijuana at draft camp....
he was never caught tho because apparently he exited the room through a window before they could get evidence against him
(those that were smoking mentioned him as part of the group he also attended 5 schools in 5 years for disciplinary actions)
its really sad cause i thought he would become the x factor when the Heat first signed him up :(
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/06/report-timberwolves-beasley-arrested-for-marijuana-possession/
disapointing. as you said Cic, he id an x-factor and has the potential to become a star!
i really think Doc. Rivers could sort him out and he would be a great addition to the rebuilding Celts :)
Didn't know that about M.B! :o
.....Always thought he looked a bit seedy. :P
it was big news before he got drafted but he then became useful for the Heat and bombed after we traded him to Minnesota to grant his wish
(Beasley asked to be traded because he wanted to be the number 1 scoring option.......)
was never mature enough to take on the responsibility and look where he is now..........
T-Wolves lost nothing in the Beasley trade, correct?
nah the timberwolves lost 2 draft picks
http://newsguru.newsvine.com/_news/2010/07/09/4644210-miami-heat-trade-beasley-to-timberwolves-for-draft-pick
QuoteA person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press late Thursday night that the Heat have agreed to send forward Michael Beasley to the Timberwolves for Minnesota's 2011 second-round pick and a swap of future first-round picks.
The person requested anonymity because the deal has not been officially announced.
well done to the heat and congrats to lebron he got his ring
on a side note
thing that really annoys me though of course they should of won they should never of been behind in the first place with the big 3 they have that brings me to my point i'm glad for them in a way but also pissed off to see them win
it just shows if you throw money (i know could of got more elsewhere but still got enough) and have a star player already threatening to quit unless you get him help that this stuff kinda happens
makes a mockery of the system and shows players have too much power...Yes they are the players who give the entertainment don't get me wrong but look at the lockout and such
to put it in afl terms it's like jobe watson saying he will quit essendon unless they get some bigger stars around him
can you imagine if they got gary ablett, judd and say pendlebury?
not going to happen i know but thats what it breaks down too''
so as i said i'm glad they got there win now they can piss off and lose from now on
also on a side note i hate when people actually jump ship and suddenly barrack for heat as soon as the trades went through
not saying you guys just i know of a few in r/l who barracked for other teams and suddenly jumped on cause they knew they had a great chance of winning a championship
end rant
i just laughed at people who said the Heat were going to win in the first year of their 6 year plan but obviously one of the most disappointed people when the Heat lost 12 months ago but yeah i was amazed at the turnaround.
As a Heat fan i obviously want the success to continue but i'm not so unrealistic to suggest that the Heat can match the Jordan led Bulls (6 championships) and i don't believe they will get anywhere near Bill Russel (11 championships) but the plan was to win multiple championships so step 1 is to win the first which we have now done
if we can get another one in 12 months time i would be very surprised but extremely happy

and thats great to see
i mean i can honestly say i went for bulls as a youngster because of jordan
but even when he was gone and they fell apart i still stayed with bulls and still to this day am Derrick Rose is the man :D
Dont get me started on bandwagon supporters. A mate of mine went for Bulls for the whole season and then in the last round switched to Miami!! I've gone for OKC for 2 years now.
