Option 2: Nope you haven't left yourself enough trades (7) and knights/Petrie/Heppell aren't keeper(s) votes: 22
Title: Cya swannie
Post by: elephants on June 06, 2011, 01:19:40 PM
Almost sold on these trades. They will complete my team and leave me with 7-8 trades..

Round 12
Swannie -> Gazza Ablett
Bewick -> Pendles

Round 14
Stanley -> Scotland
Lower -> Shaw
I'll throw in a quick downgrade in round 13 if my 500k worth of fundage isn't enough.

Thoughts? This will leave me with a team full of premiums?
(knights, Petrie, Heppell are classed as premiums. Is that okay?)
Cheers, big ears.

Trading out Swan is a stupid idea just cause he will miss one game??

Can't agree with trading out Swan, but it's your team I suppose :P

The time to trade out Swan would have been a fair few months ago (and that would've been very risky). Probably not worth it now because you'd think he'll bring back his good form after his trip. I'd like to just wait the two weeks with him on the bench. Unless you're still high enough to chase the car and have lots of trades?

I don't have a problem with people trading Swan but I don't think you will have enough trades left because I don't think knights is a premium. I have knights myself but he isn't a premium. So basicly you make the trade and just end up with a slightly weaker team than others because you have kept knights or you cop swanny on the bench for the next 2 weeks but end up with a stronger team.

i dont mind the swan trade out provided that you leave plenty of trades left. He will definitely miss the next 2 weeks due to flying out this week, and then the bye, not sure when he is returning, but if it is 3-4 days they could possibly leave him out for 3. If that is the case might be worth it? Only if you are going for overall, that is the only reason im considering it.

If you held him for all this price drop silly to trade him out I think, but yes it's your team I guess. Just don't say the forum didn't tell you so if he comes out and burns post bye

My thoughts exactly. Just hope that two weeks off gets him back to his old self!

Dont have enough trades to get rid of Swannie just gonna upgrade my midfield bench with a premium M/F for cover  :(

LE, who would you be playing off your bench with Swan gone and if you didn't trade him out? And I guess also in a fortnight with Pendles/Shaw/others out?

I think as you're going for overall, if you cant cover two guys in your mids with quality, Swan should make room now for another high scoring player that won't miss anymore games this season (and hope GAJ scores consistently if not more than Swan for the rest of the season..  :-X. )

I should clarify by saying that i would inly do this on the proviso that i was trading Swan back in and the player i traded him too was staying in the side, so effectively only 'wasting' 1 trade. I have had a look at various options though, and ive decided against trading him out. Im ranked 217 and would love to be able to catch up a few spots while swan is out, but going to do it via my bench instead...

it's a marathon not a sprint, swan will bring it home for the coaches that were not silly enough to trade him out, sucks to be you then.

Go for it, U have a chance of gaining 250-300 points in the next 2 weeks with this trade.  Then Gazza can still average the same as Swan the last 9 weeks of the season as well, so no one can peg back them points of U.

Everyone is going on the priviso that Swanny will rip it if when he comes back, but there's no guarantee. U might even get the gazzman as captain, and get a couple of 300's from him.

Wow what a response thanks guys.
There is obviously a very one sided response here. Inwould be playing Harris or mzungu. If I played mzungu I'd have no cover in the forwards (unless I smith, tapscott and richo play).

I think I'll keep swannie as he's a jet but I really hope he doesn't miss round 14...

Thanks guys...

My first response was: hell no!! but once i'd thought about it a bit more it may not be such a bad idea - if you're going for overall - and here's why:

Obviously overall is all about total points scored, so the question you need to ask yourself is will Ablett outscore Swan for the remainder of the year? If you keep Swan and cover him for the next two (potentially three) rounds you will lose the difference between what Ablett scores and what Mzungu/Harris score - for example: if Ablett scores 110 and 120 over the next two round, while Harris/Mzungu score 60 and 70, than you are potentially 100 points worse off than if you had of brought in Ablett. The question now is: will Swan outscore Ablett by 100 points for the remainder of the year?

@ someguy Of course swan will he isnt going to a recovery camp for nothing, just whach he will end up averaging 125+ after the bye till the end of the season, he just needs some confidence back!

Cheers someguy. I think when swannie gets back he'll be almost back to his usual self. I'll be keeping him now :) thanks though...
I could play hibberd for swannie as he looks really good lately??

Good call that's what I would've done if I was in your position. Tough call about who to play out of Mzungu, Harris, and Hibberd - will depend on form, who they're playing, etc.
