Title: Grimes-Curnow Dilemma
Post by: eagles09 on May 12, 2011, 07:36:20 PM
Ok so I know many of us are facing this issue, but I'm just wondering what others think is the best way to go...

With pretty much no cash available, I'm down to two options:

- Grimes -> Jacobs and then Curnow -> Boyd (seems like the safe move)

Or

- Grimes -> Rob Murphy and Curnow -> Sloane (clearly much riskier but could pay off)

I'm leaning to the first option as Boyd is an out and out gun, but may leave my backline a little weak.
With the second option Murphy gives more stability in the backs, and I really rated Sloane pre-season but I don't know if they're both just too risky...

Thoughts?

1st Option is much better IMO.

Jacobs will rise in value, plus Boyd is a GUN!

I'll be trading Grimes & Curnow for Jacobs & Watson (Already have Boyd).

boyd honestly can only fall from here... he should be priced closer to 450k tops imo, you look at players like watson who are averaging the same but are like 60 000 less or something, it's ridiculous.

What about a cheaper premium than boyd, but one still a gun for certain? for instance, a player like pendles, selwood, dal santo, watson, etc. etc. ?

yeh...boyd is seriously priced...but he is also a gun....

but if you are prepared to pay that kind of price - you have the whole field to choose from.....and prices of pendles , swann, coming down ..  can you wait ??
