Title: Searching for gifted youngsters
Post by: Alex7089 on April 24, 2011, 05:36:32 PM
Hello fellow FF FTPers.
I am looking for an outstanding (not the skill) batsman under 24 years of age. I have been looking for a while and haven't found anything yet.
I will be willing to start at 200k, lower if I don't think the players are worth that starting, and will bid up to 250k.

They are both closed Barlow...The exp is not a good start for either though.
Who might that be Maca? I am extremely interested, although he'd probably go well beyond what I can pay (if I take out all academy investments...320k)

Exp/exp 22 y.os are good Zz, but I wouldn't start at 200k for them, any preferences for a starting price?

Hmm. I do have Mahesh but Lesnar sounds like he is better. I'd hate for you to put him up if I missed him though :\

If you don't want to sell then don't Zz ;)

http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=425634
http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=385067 - Good captain
http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=412704 - most likely to give up

Secondaries are probs not where you want them, for all 3, kind of attatched to them so would want a decent amount of cash :)

Also, but not as good;
http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=379751 - much better secondaries.
http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=486090 - terrible secondaries, but only 20yo.

I'd sell Currie for $150k. :)
Title: Re: Searching for gifted youngsters

I would actually be up for that. His talent fits what I need him to do (bat at 5) so...This may work :D
I like the first 2 Zz, but I can't make an offer until I see what happens with Currie, sorry :\

Maca, as much as I would love Lesnar right now I need batsmen, I have 2 promising finger spinners and can't afford to spend 300k on another when I would rather invest it elsewhere.

So, Barlow. Start him at 150k?

Yeah less chance of being a NAT with average experience :P
Just look at Willow, he is a beast but with a 2 level boost in exp he would be more than a beast. He'd be Willow Norris.

That reminds me if I ever get another Shaggy his name shall be Shaggy Norris ;D Elder brother of Chuck, he is wiser, stronger and just better.

Haha yes when Damage was my mentor we were talking about that, he had a whole bunch of Kangas players and asked if I wanted him to change any of the names so I could use them.I suggested Swallow, and he said he was about to sell him soon to may change it beforethat. Could you please do a search for me to find out?

I think he is 26 or something. Just not good enough for his team to improve though. Weakens the depth of his batting, so I told him tot ry get some cash to go for someone that can.
Oh in that case he is very average :\
Title: Re: Searching for gifted youngsters
Post by: 8-6 Suited on April 26, 2011, 01:04:27 AM
Is a major weakness for him as it means his tail therefore goes from 6, not 7-8 like most people.

I think, not sure but I think, that Allen's batting summary is like reasonable so it is terrible. :x

Yeah that is rubbish, even Collins is better at 21. Reli/reli/exp...

Doubt Sayers will get a bite at 100k with (still) ordinary exp.

Title: Re: Searching for gifted youngsters

I would certainly look at him. I bought Shagmeister with the same primaries and age for 110k. But he had lower exp and secondaries. Not 100% sure how much I'd pay but certainly well north of 200k.

No, he's Australian. Too much depth in the Aussie ranks. He might squeeze in one of the monior nations, but not Australia.

He doesn't have enough experience to be a NAT. He'd probably need to be at least spec/spec as well. Shaggy would be best to ask.
Title: Re: Searching for gifted youngsters
Post by: Alex7089 on April 29, 2011, 12:37:57 PM
Doubt it being from Australia Cic. FTP slow right now so I can't check. Shagmeister is English so he'll never get in. Still he'll reach excep/excep and has already proven he will be a great club player for me :)
Title: Re: Searching for gifted youngsters
Post by: Cicjose on April 29, 2011, 12:38:38 PM
Damn its so hard to get a Nat for Australia your academies have to pretty much be deluxe to have a chance :(
Title: Re: Searching for gifted youngsters
Post by: Alex7089 on April 29, 2011, 12:47:20 PM
Yeah it is. Academy doesn't neeed to be deluxe but it needs to be very good, and it needs to be a very good player and he needs to be trained well.

Still trying to decide if I'm going to take Shagmeister to excep/excep or spec/spec with beter secondaries. Seeing as he won't play NAT it may be a little excessive to go to excep/excep no?

Why not go to excep/excep then work on secondaries, he'll be awesome then.

Training fielding at the moment as it is average and needs quite a bit of work. Taking it to capable and then I will re-assess.
Close to an exp pop also.

True Fletch. But with the tiered training over outstanding it may be tough. Took me well over a season to get Shagmeister these pops. :|
I really need to work on fielding before that slows to a crawl as well :\ Luckily he has gifted power.

Can't see him Alex.

Well I'm doing that with Thomson. He doesn't need anymore fielding for a while, and his endo should pop with the primary training, and as he's a medium and has reasonable power. There is nothing left to train him in.

I was weighing them up:
                          Mwangi                Goodman
Endurance             X
Power                     X
Fielding                                                X
Experience                                           X
Talent                    X

So yeah Mwangi is a bit better IMO.
