Title: Prospectors team
Post by: Prospector_1 on May 07, 2009, 10:30:58 AM
Just to get it out there, I made it based on my DT effort, but had enough to upgrade from Lucas in DT to Rioli in SC, and Currie in DT to White in SC. I've not made any trades yet. Averaging 2048, so enjoy tearing it to pieces. Note: no Collingwood, No Melbourne, no Stanton, and no Ablett!

Brendon Goddard
Chad Cornes
Jarrad Waite
Jed Adcock
Ryan Houlihan
Grant Birchall
Nick Malceski

Luke Power
Joel Selwood
Andy Otten
Daniel Rich
Michael Rischitelli
Travis Tuck

Dean Cox
Darren Jolly

Nick Riewoldt
Shaun Higgins
Matthew Pavlich
Jack Riewoldt
Hayden Skipworth
Mitchell Brown
Jeff Garlett

Greg Broughton
Jared Petrenko
Brent Harvey
Liam Anthony
Sam Jacobs
Jesse White
Cyril Rioli

Defence is strong
Rucks are good (McIntosh instead of Jolly)
Harvey for Sewell and your midfield will be quite strong
not a fan of j reiwoldt

First trades made:

OUT Harvey ($487,900) IN Cassisi ($482,900)
OUT Brown ($234,500) IN Stokes ($235,600)

Wish I hadn't rushed it - probs shoulda taken Cogs, and gone harder for a better forward. Damn.

No,

I'm not convinced about Coughlan

He's played 2 games in 2 and a 1/2 seasons.

Could be Cousins all over again (injury wise)

He might play well all year - but I reckon he's a good chance to get injured again, so don't look at him as a missed opportunity

if you want a good team then when you upgrade players you need to get someone who is going to average around 100...eg. not cam stokes

so far this year my upgrade players have been:
n riewoldt
waite
power
hodge
s johnson

Forward line breaking down, back line troubled by Hooligan and Malceski.

OUT Malceski ($315,000) IN Cheney ($161,000)
OUT Riewoldt ($299,200) IN Giansiracusa ($375,400)

Gonna cop a zero for the rushed trade to Cam Stokes dammit.

Cam Stokes. why? He was no certain starter in the hawks line up anyway. Not much of a upgrade- Brown to Stokes...

Too much of a rush to cover forward blots. Broke rule #4 - "Don't Panic".

Sorry to disappoint. I have opinions, whether I know anything or not. You are entitled to yours, and entitled to express them. Enjoy your fantasy footy.

Trades this week,

OUT White ($237,800) IN Naitanui ($169,200)
OUT Giansiracusa ($487,000) IN Porplyzia ($449,900)

Nearly bought Cloke - nearly broke rule #1. Damn, I shoulda done it, but Garlett playing gave me the chance to cash out White and get Naita for $$ and coverage.

8 trades left.

2038.79 average over the season, and 2,165 this week. Pav and Cox on the bench (as was young Anthony - that was a mistake!)
Title: Re: Prospectors team
Post by: Alex7089 on July 07, 2009, 08:42:05 AM
averaging 2108.29 with 2 0 Pav and Rioli on the bench and Cox on the ground (had no cover) winning all my leagues and all this and I'm in my first year so I hop to improve next year
Title: Re: Prospectors team

OUT Pavlich ($480,400) IN Murphy ($356,100)
OUT Rich ($419,300) IN Kirk ($552,400)

Still paying the forward price of a hasty trade to Cam Stokes!

I gotta ask, what was the theory behind the Stokes trade? Surely u knew he was no lock in the hawks side...

I'm happy with Chappy, you can see that GAJ is there, and Cap'n, and what do you reckon is wrong with the backline, Blueperson?
Title: Re: Prospectors team
Post by: mazda3 on July 20, 2009, 09:27:42 AM
Rischitelli is a real problem. i sold him. he's in bad form and he's not a supercoach person.
Title: Re: Prospectors team
Post by: Prospector_1 on July 20, 2009, 10:00:47 AM
Agreed, but Tuck isn't even getting a game, so he's the bigger problem I think.

Also have forward problems that are bigger - Stokes, Walker and Garlett - 2 need to go, and Porpz has a question mark after today.
Title: Re: Prospectors team
Post by: Prospector_1 on July 25, 2009, 10:51:35 AM
OUT Garlett ($174,300) IN Franklin ($387,100)

Title: Re: Prospectors team

Kirk, Power and Cassisi should be of concern aswell

Hmm, on form, and I've had him all year, I'd have said Birchall was my biggest problem. I've lost far to much $$$ there!

How are those 3 players a concern? All of them avg around the 100 mark and are guns! Not sure what you're on about?

Happy enough with performance this week - 2130 gets me into the 8 in all 3 leagues. One is around 15,000, one is around 340, and the other is around 330. (Scraped into those last 2!)

Title: Re: Prospectors team
Post by: Prospector_1 on August 13, 2009, 06:33:59 AM
No trades left, knocked out of the finals in the harder two leagues.

Here's how we started...

Goddard, Birchall, Chornes, Waite, Adcock, Ryan Houlihan, Malceski
(Broughton, Petrenko)

Luke Power, Joel Selwood, Rischitelli, Harvey, Rich, Travis Tuck
(Liam Anthony, Andy Otten)

Darren Jolly, Dean Cox
(Sam Jacobs, Jesse White)

N. Riewoldt, Pavlich, Rioli, M. Brown, Higgins, J. Riewoldt, Skipworth
(Jeff Garlett, Taylor Walker)

Here's the team to play the second semi...

GODDARD, NEWMAN, GILBEE, HODGE, BIRCHALL, BROUGHTON, GRIMES
(CHENEY, POST)

ABLETT, J. SELWOOD, KIRK, L. POWER, CASSISI, L. ANTHONY
(RISCHITELLI, T. TUCK)

JOLLY, MCINTOSH
(NAITANUI, JACOBS)

N. RIEWOLDT, CHAPMAN, PORPLYZIA, FRANKLIN, PAVLICH, RIOLI, BALLANTYNE

(R. MURPHY, C. STOKES)

The forward line gave me the most trouble in the end. The Stokes trade was dumb. Roo is the only player in the forwards to be there all year! Pav and Rioli went out and came back in.

Never intended to hold Risky and T. Tuck all year, but forward problems, backline injuries and Big Cox folding left me without an opportunity to upgrade.

Also, deciding to bring Ablett in was costly in trades - I reckon you've just gotta have him from the start.
